Forced cameos aren't the worst thing, but forced relationships with forced cameos is garbage fanfic territory. Also, an interesting experiment in the fact that anti-plot armor is just as bad as plot armor.
A surprising lack of continuity errors for being so poorly written. I guess that's where all the attention went.

The sheer amount of plot protection was mind boggling
It was a misery porn through and through. You play the game, suffering through a lot of abusing, expecting for things to get better, to get some payoff, but it never happens. The game just doubles down on misery, none of the characters gets a closure and so forth. Overall, it's a terrible experience I wouldn't recommend to anyone.

There are a few unironically kino scenes but overall it's pretty forgettable. Should have been completely unrelated to the characters from the series.
