Calling this a successor is like calling Victoria 3 a successor to Victoria 2.
>alpha centauri successor
i wish, but no dev will ever capture what made that game unique
^
Just form that one picture I can already tell it's going to be soulless.
i thought it was beyond earth
Calling yourself AC successor, or even giving the slightest hint of it is basically setting yourself up for fail. See: Civ: BE
I wish we had something like a successor. Even a shameless ripoff would be nice. It's sad that even with a shit ton of video games getting released daily some game designs and ideas still get abandoned to die.
first time heard about it
>no terraforming height map
for valid reasons I see
Isn't this the same dev that abandoned several fricking games including lords of the black sun?
>If we use le heckin Latin words our game will be.... LE GOOD!
Yeah lad, frick back to /vsg/ you ESL troony wanker.
Trvue anons will at kek your attempt to poison the well and move on
it's not a troony game, because the "pax" is misgendered
Pax Novum?
Been a whole but it was interesting at first. But the same strategy works every game, basically max growth till you dominate. Even the battles are very predictable about which unit will attack which unit once you figure it out. Once you have enough force you can bait, attack, retreat unit to hills, block with stronger unit - ultimately winning every battle with no losses. After you get over the initial hump, its just wipe the map, like a lot of strategy games - many such cases.
If you people can make a new engine for Morrowind, and a new engine for Skyrim is in the works, you can make a new engine for SMAC.
Played it once, only thing I remember is the city control cap was dumb and non-controlled cities would gradually build random junk that increased pollution even if the city didn't actually benefit from it. Multiple planets were a neat idea I guess.
This game looks like shit but that's kind of how cities work
