Idk what game you're playing cuz it's not colosseum. Enemies don't have formula breaking stats, and the AI is actually fairly strong but predictable. If it was weak AI you wouldn't run into Protect+EQ combos.
The level curve for Colosseum is ridiculous and you're given basically zero good actual places to grind.

When the levels decides to jump up by more than 20 in the last leg of the game arbitrarily in an attempt to create 'difficulty'.
And you can still beat them without grinding because it's pokemon and pokemon isn't hard in the slightest, yes.

Name a single mainline Pokémon game that does any of what you listed here, nobody is claiming that Colosseum is some groundbreaking masterwork that forever revolutionized video games, strats like Justy’s sand team Ein’s rain team and Evice’s bullshit are just fun to fight against because it’s not something you see very often in the main games

Genius Sonority are ex-Sony guys who got handed Pokemon and told to make Pokemon. They were not fans, they were just doing a job on a franchise they had no connection to, and by virtue of their ignorance of mainline principles it ended up being actually good.
