what do people see in turn based yakuza? I don't get it
I imagine most people who are knocking it are only doing so because it's a """"smaller""" game.
My only gripe with it was turning the dragon style into a heavy/slugglish fighting style
i miss being able to switch styles.
>smaller game
>is 10x better than bigger game
Every time
I'm confused
Isn't this Yakuza 8?
I mean Kiryu is there, right? Why is the next Yakuza 8 and not this?
that's Joryu
Reviewers hate japan
It got high reviews because it’s set in Burger land
Its fricking name, anon.
Normies don't want to play 7 games. They just want to play the most recent ones because of FOMO.
With Yakuza Like a Dragon most of them thought that they didn't need to play the whole saga, just because of its fricking name.
Fricking normies. They ruin everything.
To be fair, there are a billion of these fricking titles and they all play the same, at this point bothering to catch up with the whole series feels like an especially poor waste of time. The same goes for the Assassin's Creed, Pokémon, Tales of, Call of Duty or really any of these giant franchises
At least Pokemon and assassin's Creed look very different between each instalment, Yakuzu is all the same.
Go play with your kiddy balls and your Asscrack and stay away from Yakuza, shit eater normie
I stay away from all 3
They should've used the 1-5 DoD moveset for this game instead of the 6/K2 shit
>traditional yakuza gameplay
>worse reviews than Infinite Wealth
There is your answer, anon.
turn based fricking sucks. the only people who like it are gaming journalists who suck at gaming
Journalists and normalgays in general have hounded on turn-based games up until BG3, don't kid yourself.
Turn based gays hating that they actually have to play the game and not scroll through menu every fight
That's a Yakuza/Ryu ga Gotoku game, it's a bit mediocre, but still a Yakuza game. What came out 3 days ago it's so fricking ridiculous and out of place that I don't even know how to describe it.
what do you mean
Reviewers bias towards easy games where they don't actually have to play or think. Gaiden's gameplay is simply too much for them to handle.
IW on the other hand is so braindead that it plays itself and has flashy animations while doing it. Add onto that 75% of the game being story cutscenes, it's a recipe for high critic scores.
>too much for them to handle
It has an easy difficulty.
I love classic beat'em up Yakuzas, but you TBC haters are just pathetic 1 trick fonies.
It’s still mindboggling to me that Yakuza franchise peak popularity came after they ditched the action packed gameplay and turned into a turn-based RPG, a genre many people considered a niche market and are “dying”.
In a world where many games are looking at the other way around (looking at you, Final Fantasy and Trails ), this counter-intuitive success of RGG needs to be studied.
the gameplay in the yakuza series was always absolute garbage. The games were good despite the brawling, not because of it.
I liked 0 and Kiwami 1, quit at 3 because it sucked ass
Imagine getting filtered because you can't spam the basic combo.
Imagine defending shit gameplay
Yeah, i would get it if it was at least good rpg gameplay but 7 was one of the most broken and boring rpg systems i've ever played
The ending where he's blubbering like a baby over a tablet while his master watched over his shoulder was a fricking disgrace and spat on Kiryu's character. Yes he's shed some manly tears, but thar level of sobbing was unseemly. The least his homosexual "friend" could've done was give him some privacy as well
Garbage gameplay, filler story. The only good thing about it is the ending.
>old bad
>new good
Funny how they have to bring back Kiryu cause whatshisname is a lame MC for the Yakuza franchise.
Why does Kiryu look younger in Gaiden than he did in 6 or even 5?
The series has degraded itself into being a wacky series of adventures and memes, so 7, 8 and Ichiban are perfect for what the cattle want.
It was always a wacky and silly series
1 not so much but yes, as early as 2 the silliness was present and kept getting worse. 7 was the big game that caught on with people due to the memes blowing up and likely the front cover. 7 also being a soft reboot helped things for the newcomers.
0 was the game that hooked normies into the series, mostly due to memes and streamers picking it up.
ok 0gay
0 is one of the more serious entries in the series though.
Serious story, but goofy substories is the Yakuza formula.
0 Is pure fanservice and filler except some chapters from Majima.
0 was intended with new players in mind. The fanservice for veterans is there but not the focus especially for ultra fans who went on autismo rants against retcons of third order details.
It's Daytona 2 with free Yakuza mini-game.
>Yakuza was always bad gays come in
>It's always Black folk complaining that it's either too easy or too hard
At least Yakuza allowed both 0 IQ grugging and 300IQ combos at the same time, it all depended on how much you wanted to engage with it.
JRPGslop is literally "90% of this list is fricking useless" simulator.
both are bad, simple as
it's not a matter of being too easy or too hard, it's just bad
Elaborate on how it's bad.
If both are bad why is Yakuza such a succesful and beloved franchise?
Pandering to new audiences. Nothing more, nothing less.
Before that, they were better games.
