Disagree. I've heard about many indie games posting here on Ganker. The actual danger is advertising on Ganker, then sperging about politics on the left or right, and then acting surprised when Ganker hates you for it.
IDK man. I haven't launched any games but I've tried getting Ganker servers started and have seen other guys launch games. It's very easy to do, the most that person can do is post and reply to people. You can still do everything as an organizer you were able to do. Problem becomes when the organizes become incapable of ignoring those people themselves, then the direction becomes attacking shitposters
For gamenights maybe not for a large scale project like a game or a heavily modded server though.

What's the setting and premise?
The game puts you in charge of a military base.
The main objective is to train and develop recruits into fierce soldiers, by issuing commands and managing their progress with base-building elements.
After the 12 weeks you will send your men into mission, where they must complete tasks in multiple stages to return home victorious.
Neat, what's the tech level/era? Who do you fight against?

The game has a unique idea but I don't know if the 2D indie pixel art s the way to go with it. I would feel a lot more attached to the characters if they had more identifying them than just a few squares. See: Jagged Alliance 2 portraits, for example.
That said, the art is good, comparable to environmental station alpha or butcher

What are the missions like OP?
>walk around map, turn based.

>Otherwise various events where you need 50 agility on one soldier to succesfully sneak, 50 melee to succesfully melee, etc
>Get some supply or prestige
>when you reach final goal space, you get a new goal for pickup a couple of tiles away
>Choose to continue mission or stop there
>Continue? Do the same as above (up to 5 missions total)
>Not continue? Choose one of the survivors to help you in training the next batch (the boost depends on their M.O.D.)
