Pretty much all of the weapons and armor we have seen so far has been shit from the first game. I hope we get some great new designs but if they wanna keep them secret for now that's fine with me.
Weve seen a a fair few new ones. The heavy armour looks fricking sick across the board so far, and I liked the white yeti and mongolian looking sets for archer/thief. I just hope there is yet more customization, Im fine with less equipment slots, but only if they have added way more armours.
At the very least we have seen that all gear has slots, seems like there is going to be some system like in MH perhaps where you can give yourself traits and stats with slotted items.

There is footage of bare handed fighting and it has its own move sets this time, if not its own class. So you can play a thief and use theif tools, and actually be able to do combos and special attacks with fists. >tackles goblin to ground pound them, then curb stomp to finish

DD is open but not directionless, there are two hub cities that you get pretty much all of your quests in, you won't be wandering aimlessly hitting random "objectives" like most open world games
it's also very light on story, at the same time it takes a little bit to unlock all the cool abilities you want on any given class and for the game to really start picking up
it's dirt cheap so you might as well try it
The first one is an open world and does have a story, but I don't know that I'd describe it as "story-heavy." There are definitely monsters to hunt and leveling up, both your character and individual vocations (classes). Not sure how that all falls with your criteria, but I recommend it wholeheartedly.
DD isn't directionless or story heavy so you might like it. It's an open world action RPG but not a "sandbox" styled open world and not a medieval life simulator either. It's mostly combat focused and there's some good dungeon crawling with BBI as well. The main game also has dungeons but they're sadly kind of small and not as fleshed out as they could've been. Combat is closest to Monster Hunter if I had to compare though it's definitely not exactly like it either. It's really it's own thing but it's made by Capcom and has some similarities to MH.

Can't stand MMO gameplay because it's auto attacks and cooldown skills, and animations and positioning don't matter. You start a move on a target in range and then after that your relative positioning means nothing and stats determine everything. DD is basically the polar opposite of that, which is why I like it.
