Elven archers, radiant knights, clerics, angels priest, mages definitely because they infuse conditions to weapon attacks, it depends what kind of buffs you want. Great Knights buff eachother, you can equip any unit with items specifically to buff people.
It should tell you if the skill affects you or the enemy based on what it does, you can add parameters to get it to do what you want too
I didn't really put any thought or much investment into her, I just gave her AP/PP boosting shit and let her run on autopilot. She's just good. She mangles flyers and scout with a truestrike counterattack, mangles armored with piercing, and is one of the tankiest unique characters as long as you give her a healer and either 1) someone else on the frontline to split damage or 2) a sainted knight to confer magick protection. Level 25 and 30 she gets juiced even harder. Literally never had a unit with her in the front underperform. Playing on expert.
Yeah I should do that, esp now that she has Iron Veil. She just works so well out of the box I haven't even thought about how poorly I have her gambits set up until now.
You all fail to realise the bigger picture of Ren leaving you for the tricorn mercs, but there is irony in it. For her not to abandon Travis, she has to abandon you. Her main story with Travis is reconciling and having him realise she won't leave her family again.
they are essentially just bucklers, so in theory they can act as small usable shields for combat, while being light enough that they don't outright impede you like a full shield would so you can hold a weapon with 2 shields. Ambidextrous fighting style may play a part of it too. If you can still hold a weapon with a buckler on each arm, you also have the advantage to swapping the weapon to either hand on a block/parry? but its fantasy so who cares.
i put a magic defense shield on veggie and the other shield gives her +1pp and she's strong for me...at the very least she tanks and nothing kills her and she doesn't really need a healer
i just got to her, and honestly she feels so far 'queen and authoritative' to me from first impressions

i started playing last night for like 7 hours, i was hoping to get autistic with the gambits/tactics stuff but not a lot of options so far... do you guys use the generic hires or stick with named characters? im lazy and am using named, with no thought behind the squads really, just made sure to pair alain up with my wives.
Just keep playing and experimenting, much of the actual building takes place in the late game and by then you’ll have a better hold on the mechanics and what you want your units to do.
I didn't mess with gambits and conditions much early on because there's not a lot of options and the variety of classes is limited. It gets more complicated as the game goes on, same for a few "lol frick you" OP combos that just barrel over everything. Try not to metagame too hard by looking that kinda shit up and you'll start to have fun with the gambit system soon.
I really like how arbalists spend like 10 seconds just cranking their bowstrings back into place after they fire. Probably my favorite little animation touch.
Unicorn Overlord is excelent so don't mistake what I will say as a covert tard asking for mudcore, but I wish next time we can get a game of similar quality and retro gameplay more in the veins of Tactics Ogre or FFT.

Because shipping is a well-established mechanic in Fire Emblem, while Veg and Gil's case is rather unique, so unique that I suspect the marriage is a result of both of them originally being the MCs of the game before Alain was created.

From Alain's rapports alone, you learn that she's so prickly because she practically spent ten years all alone believing that everyone she cared about was murdered. Alain calms her down.

It's perfectly in line with her being a hot-headed, suicidal idiot, rude with other people, convinced that she was the one fated to restore Cornia, eventually. That is, yes, a character flaw.
The problem is that over this single line of dialogue you guys make an entire cloud castle in which Veg is somehow a plotting double-faced demon planning to kill Alain and only stopped by Josef's presence, despite the fact that such levels of cowardice and intrigue run straight against the previous idea of being an impulsive brat. You can't have both, and given how she acts for the rest of the game (extremely loyal, almost fanatically) the far more reasonable assumption is that she just talks shit.

Very good. Easy to learn but there's a lot of cards so lots of complexity possible. Games aren't too long. Playing it kinda feels like setting up your strategy in the video game, but you don't know what you're going to be facing because the other players are setting up their strategy too (hidden). Once every players have set their cards, you reveal them all and the "battle" happens.
no interesting characters for cards, all just mercenaries. It also has zero chance of catching on ever since it was only sold with a limited run preorder special edition. Just play dominion if you want a good deck building game.

Elven archers, radiant knights, clerics, angels priest, mages definitely because they infuse conditions to weapon attacks, it depends what kind of buffs you want. Great Knights buff eachother, you can equip any unit with items specifically to buff people.
It should tell you if the skill affects you or the enemy based on what it does, you can add parameters to get it to do what you want too

She mangles flyers and scout with a truestrike counterattack, mangles armored with piercing, and is one of the tankiest unique characters as long as you give her a healer and either 1) someone else on the frontline to split damage or 2) a sainted knight to confer magick protection. Level 25 and 30 she gets juiced even harder. Literally never had a unit with her in the front underperform. Playing on expert.

Switching to your off hand shield is quicker than reloading
they are essentially just bucklers, so in theory they can act as small usable shields for combat, while being light enough that they don't outright impede you like a full shield would so you can hold a weapon with 2 shields. Ambidextrous fighting style may play a part of it too. If you can still hold a weapon with a buckler on each arm, you also have the advantage to swapping the weapon to either hand on a block/parry? but its fantasy so who cares.
i put a magic defense shield on veggie and the other shield gives her +1pp and she's strong for me...at the very least she tanks and nothing kills her and she doesn't really need a healer

You get plenty of uniques to fill your roster. generics are only if you really want more of X class

Just keep playing and experimenting, much of the actual building takes place in the late game and by then you’ll have a better hold on the mechanics and what you want your units to do.
I didn't mess with gambits and conditions much early on because there's not a lot of options and the variety of classes is limited. It gets more complicated as the game goes on, same for a few "lol frick you" OP combos that just barrel over everything. Try not to metagame too hard by looking that kinda shit up and you'll start to have fun with the gambit system soon.

Playing it kinda feels like setting up your strategy in the video game, but you don't know what you're going to be facing because the other players are setting up their strategy too (hidden). Once every players have set their cards, you reveal them all and the "battle" happens.

...really? I just flew a flying unit over to them while having every other one defend base. The game literally told me "Let's try to do this with as few casualties as possible" and it worked on the first try.
the problem, and anons can correct if I'm wrong, is that the beasts go supersonic zerg on your base if you don't cap enough of the bases or don't cover the chokepoints. if you cap enough before nighttime it's a much easier, while still lengthy mission
I'm guessing this is definitely one of the best mission to use that item that can turn night to day.
