Honestly, the similarities are uncanny. Mostly visually visually, but even story-wise there are quite a lot of parallels. I'm very sure the devs were at the very least inspired by MiA.

When I saw the class where the teacher explains how Area Zero is a giant crater that's too dangerous to explore and legend says it's full of treasure, I thought "oh, the devs were watching Made in Abyss."
When I actually got there, the otherworldly vibe just made it even more clear.
Yeah it definitely seems like more than just a coincidence. It's basically like a mix between The Abyss and Atlantis or some shit.
And don't forget the whole plot point about Arven's parent, a renowned researcher, going more or less missing in the depth of the crater, only to find out that they've been dead for a while. And before the events of the game, Arven even tried to venture to the crater by himself to find out what happened to his parent, only to have his Pokémon suffer some mysterious injury.

Music and setting is cool. Functionally it's not much though.
It's a step up from them, but it reminded of the Ultra Space areas from Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon. Some of the most interesting theming of any Pokemon area but almost nothing to do there.
At least area zero is more than a single hallway and there's an actual story event at the bottom, but getting interrupted bit by but on the way down was pretty annoying too.
Area Zero is like Ultra Space except not extremely disappointing. It's definitely a step up.
I don't think the game needs voice acting for everything but it was direly needed for this part.
i dont get whats so good about this. its worse than every other third legendary den. it got this constant shitty afternoon daylight 24/7 and its all green dull garbage. the lowest part is slightly better but still just random giant crystals and buildings that are all identical and dont say anything. its also not different at all than every other area and has nothing different. Theres areas in the game that look way better than this and have a better fauna. Also its unrealistic that theres 15 skyscrapers in the bottom that are also completely unaccessible
