Triminutely remidner that Black Lung was a PIECE OF SHIT and Micah was a better person. Micah saved everyone at the very start of the game. Black Lung questioned everything since the start of the game and got the gang killed.

He has a terminal illness that will kill him by inches, assuming he doesn't get shot to death in schemes he is becoming more and more disillusioned with. When confronted with a person of the cloth he confesses that he knows he's damned to hell for a live of wanton violence, and he's not terribly excited about it.
The thing he had put all his stock in, after his own family had been murdered, which he believes was divine retribution for being a scumbag, was Dutch, Hosea, and the rest of the gang. He believed any actions he took for them were worth it because he was following Dutch's torch in the darkness. When he finally opens his eyes to who dutch really is, and what he was willing to sacrifice it dawns on him that even his reflexive deflection of "i did what I had to do" turns out to be bullshit.
Also that scene only happens if you're a high honor arthur that did all the side quests in the right order at the right time. If you don't you wind up with a different scene, Swanson cleaned up and leaving on a train.
Little too late when his killcount was in the hundreds canonically. Think of all of those people lives, plenty were innocent. Think of how afraid and how deep their characters could have been. You're asking me to care for a character that mowed down people like they were nothing.

And as far as arthur's body count, its a rockstar video game. I just take it for granted it happens in an alternate universe where you can't go to the corner store for milk without 15 Tarantino and Michael Bay finales happening simultaneously.
