What's her name, Ganker?
This hurts so much, especially random demos you played and can't remember where they were from
Yes. I used to scrounge around and find any free demo or little indie game that I could find. My mind is full of little snippets but I can never remember the games. It's especially bad with old games I used to play on yoyogames, I'll never find those.
I remember this game I downloaded once but I've never been able to find it.
It was a first person game where you controlled multiple characters to act out a movie or a play.
There were a few characters: a secret agent, a woman, and an alien. They were actors with cardboard masks on. You could control them from the first person and switch between them as you wanted. You could type dialogue and the actor would say it by displaying it above their head, I think. There was a script that you could copy paste from or you could write your own dialogue.
You moved around a big 3D set that had a few locations, a barn, the alien ship, a cornfield, maybe a house. It was all made of wood and such like it was a theatre set.
I can't remember much more at the moment. It was years ago, and I think it was a demo or something, I don't know. If this rings a bell to anyone please tell me, I've been trying to find it for a long time. Pic is unrelated.
I bet you thought you were real fricking clever when you made this thread, huh Anon? Little b***h.
actually yeah, I have a PhD and I frick your mom with it every night
>admits that he has long term memory problems
>get offended somehow
You will never find that game.
I don't remember
As if i knew
it was an isometric shooter, Alien-inspired (especially the facehugger eggs).
the menu was an animated space station/hangar of some sort
Sounds space hulk-ish to me. Maybe have a look at spinoffs of that.
xenophobe
Alien shooter?
too recent, it was in the late 90s early 2000 at best
There's an older Space Hulk
Was it possibly Expendable?
I think it was called Millenium Soldier or some such in Burgerland, and while it didn't have facehuggers there were little jumping bastards that sometimes pretended to be hostages.
wtf!!! no that anon but I came in this thread to ask for this motherfricker right here, I've been trying to find it for so fricking long, I love you bro
Alien Breed? I played it on my Amiga.
zax the alien hunter
Vyruz
Alien Syndrome? Original or remake
Cybermercs?
Are you sure it wasn't just AvP 1? That's from 1999
Alien Swarm?
Not that anon but that was fairly recent in the context of the thread. To be fair it was the first thing that popped into my head. I frickin' loved that game.
Definitely Alien Swarm
Ganker helped me.
Unfortunately the games you forget about often suck, so don't go building it up in your head as this hidden gem.
Holy shit I've been trying to find this game for years, and now that I found it I am...disappointed. It looked different in my mind for some reason. But at least I can stop searching now.
A tank game from i think the ps1 era
It was third person and thats about all i remember
Tiny Tank or Assault Rigs maybe
Probably one of the Battle Tanx games
or
Damn pretty sure thats it
Thanks anon
Was it on PC? TreadMarks? It's F2P now
Mass Destruction?
Ganker helped me remember this game. Maybe it will be something you are after too
2d game played it on a win98 piece of junk
Something like a rpg/roguelike game with an overworld you traveled on and could click on areas to fight things. I remember skeles and wolves
I think you could make your own custom maps in game too
Castle of winds maybe?
Nah it had better sprite work. The momevent of the sprites was just sort of sliding around the overwors by clicking
You also had a party
Try drawing the main character
It used to be heroes of might and magic 1 but that was easy enough to find when I got on the internet. After that it was Battle City for the NES.
>find the game
>its a Mac exclusive
Mine is a point and click game that has water droplet-like effect when you click on one of the monilith..I forgot its name
i played this really cool monster vs monster fighting game. there was building destruction and i think you could eat the little people running around.
the game was 2d, and it was on the ps2.
yup. this is it. thanks
Rampage?
Rampage?
It's Nintendo platforming game about Italian-looking plumber dressed in red and blue. You had to collect coins. You could gather mushroom which made you grow or flower which let you shoot fireballs. The goal was to rescue some princess but every time you've visited one you've encountered mushroom abomination saying "Princess might be in another castle" (not sure if I remember quote correctly).
>italian
Not canon
super meat boy
It was like this monster truck game or some other racer where you had to ride through these dirt stadiums. I remember that the last level was a volcano, was on my dad's old computer. Haven't really looked into finding it but while I'm here I might as well try, any anon here know?
Blaster master, for the longest time the only thing I could remember is a car, a little dude and the boss fights being a different perspective
Big brain thread.
For me it's Dr Lunatic Supreme With Cheese.
How do I remember it? I asked Ganker once and they found it.
same except for me it was the "prequel" from some random freeware PC game disk
I never asked Ganker about this but I spent like 40 minutes googling various names trying to find this, or look through game lists of late 90s/early 2000s. I was sure for some reason there was some pun on Frankenstein in the name like "Funkenstein" or something, I don't know why. Eventually tried Dr Insane and got a lot of Crash Bandicoot, but Dr Lunatic finally popped up. What a weird game.
I remembered Rage of Mages and Dark Colony through threads like this.
>>What's her name
It's umm uhhh man I can't seem to... ...dang it's like on the tip of my tongue man...
I wanna replay a game that I cannot find for the life of me. It was PC freeware, looked sorta like a top down Atari 2600 game with every screen just being composed of blocks of different colors forming walls and doors and traps, and all you did was move a white square from screen to screen avoiding traps and touching buttons that would induce procedural changes in other screens.
Adventure, for the Atari.
Prob found an emulated version
Nah, it was even blockier and more abstract than that. And it was a genuine freeware indie game.
This one is impossible:
My dad brought it back from a truck stop in the 90s. It's a disk shareware clone of Command and Conquer but the crystals are drugs instead. Thats basically all I remember.
Been looking for YEARS.
>shareware clone of Command and Conquer
future conflict?
Hmm, I remember the visuals being distinctly like Red Alert. I don't think it's this..
PSX game
turn based similar to final fantasy tactics
the level i remember is a desert one
is not front mission
it cant be tactics ogre, thats too obvious right
Vanguard Bandits?
Vandal Hearts?
>What's her name, Ganker?
a dino game on the ps1 or 2 it had puzzles i think? i literally dont remember more
The jurassic park game maybe?
A flash porn game it had a cinematic at the beginning where a masked dude fricked a famous girl.
a local two player game with tanks similar to worms, cheapest weapon was a rotten egg
a game where you basically build rube goldberg maschine or whatever they are called
Crazy Machines?
sounds like scorched earth
I don't know if you're still here, but does this image ring a bell for the first one? It's called Pocket Tanks and was ported to mobile a while back
You should unironically try reddit for that
Punched in some details about a random PC game I played in my youth and found it almost immediately
damn i remember this game wtf was it called
Moop and Dreadly in The Treasure on Bing Bong Island
any specific subreddit name?
/r/tipofmyjoystick
it was a pc game i played in the 90s. you flew around in a plane that could transform into a tank. i dont remember hardly anything about it other than it was a very dark game for some reason.
a very goofy hockey game on the PSX
a side scrolling blue/green haired robot girl for the N64
a snes fighting game where you play as a man in a tiki mask, a football player, nazi inspector gadget, also NotRyu! and NotKen!
Here is every psx hockey game
Gotta be one of these
Rock the Rink, thank you anon!
Mischief Makers, that is it! Thank you very much.
bruh there's like 10 games for the N64 how lazy can you be to look up a list and find mischief makers
The N64 one sounds like Mischief Makers
>snes fighting game where you play as a man in a tiki mask, a football player, nazi inspector gadget, also NotRyu! and NotKen!
World Heroes 2 by SNK
Man the SNES port looks like ass. The arcade version is a lot more slick ofc
I had this game in my closet the entire time... Thank you anon! The sound quality is a lot better than what that guy uploaded, gameplay is about the same.
>a snes fighting game where you play as a man in a tiki mask, a football player, nazi inspector gadget, also NotRyu! and NotKen!
World Heroes.
A animated game where you played multiple card games with a bunny a pig and a iguana I think and they were hilarious when they won or lost.
good one op
there was one game like this for me.
It was a PS2 game. It was on a demo disk for the official ps2 magazine (uk). I don't remember which issue.
I'm pretty sure the game was like futuristic except you had a sword. All I remember is the level in the demo was snowy or at least quite white/grey. You fight these enemies and the sword had a cool glowing effect that impressed me when I was a kid. Also when you hit the enemies there was a cool blood effect.
I don't think it was a particularly good game but for some reason I remember it and its been driving me crazy for a few years.
it was an acton side scroller flash game on armorgames.
It had a demon blade/katana in it.
Not sure how much it counts as a game but I played this stat raising dating sim (girl mc dating guys I think?) on my mom's nokia or something. Basically she has like a month or three to raise her stats by going to the gym, shopping and whatever every week and at the end of the game I think the guy leaves on a plane and her stats determine if she can keep him around? I might have completely made that part up.
third person action adventure game
3 classes to select from warrior, mage and rogue
each class had a different starting point
warrior had some monologue doing pushup and then jumped into some castle area
mage had wrapped head and staff, ranged attacks and his playthrough contained portal rooms
dont remember the third
Dark Vengance
This game had controls akin to Asteroids, but with gravity
you could play two players on one keyboard (badly). The objective is to shoot the other spaceship. The terrain was destructible and there were caves you could manouver through.
I got it from a shareware site.
I remember the splash screen of Team 17 or something similar to it when launching.
I browsed through their catalog but to no avail.
Anyone heard of this? Circa 2009 but my memory may be failing me here.
The gameplay looked like pic related, but it was split screen since the map couldn't fit. It was plenty of fun
Long shot but: Cortex Command?
nooo no no no
it was purely an arcade thing and the spaceships were as tiny as on the pic, unless your screen got split or you got close to the enemy rocket.
by arcade thing i mean the genre, not that it was on arcades. obviously.
Found it. Jetmen Revival
RPG on a motorola flipphone with magic attacks. Really short, it could be completed in like 30-40 minutes.
Top down car combat. Another shareware. It generally had deserty areas. It was you against 5 or 7 cpu opponents, throwing molotovs, bombs, grenades (I think). The currency was tequila-based, or something. There was some sort of survival aspect to it and resource management. I think this one is the hardest to remember.
Found it.
Mexican motor mafia. It looked worse than I remember. Much worse. I also misremembered some things.
Sci-fi black wing-suit 3D platformer for PC late 90s. Pls help me Ganker
who
>chilling in front of pc playing santa in trouble
just before christmas festivities
https://archive.org/details/Santa_Claus_in_Trouble
a 2d platformer (but with 3d models). the levels were 1 screen only
i only played a demo but demo was on sun but the inhabitants were red devils (pic related) but with sun glasses and cool clothes.
I remember screenshot of Mercury having rock golems with googly eyes
i don't rememember anything else except there were levels for all 9 planets of the solar system + sun.
ME!
>ps2 game
>hack n slash
>had a "low budget japanese game" feel to it

Eve of Extinction
Eve Of Extinction?
onimusha 3 ?
>play demo of game in younger years

>play game by company that made demo game
>game has an entire section devoted as a reference to the demo game
>nostalgia comes rushing back like a freight train

Nights into Dreams is imagination cocaine. Damn shame the sequel was shit and the series is so dead the best it can get is a slot machine.
>vertical scroller 2d game
>character is a knight of some sort and you can get power ups
>2nd boss is Grim Reaper
>not sure if it's in NES or Master System
That's all I remember. Don't disappoint me Ganker
the gameplay but not the game name
>>What's her name, Ganker?
homie u wat
I have vague memories of an edutainment game I played when young. Most likely came out in the very early 2000's. Everything about it is memoryholed except a few vague and maybe inaccurate memories.
1. It had a minigame structure.
2. You were rewarded with different-colored stars for completing minigames.
3. The "main characters" were a nondistinct adult man and woman. Maybe they had a pet. They were not very memorable characters.
WHAT THE FRICK IS THIS GAME, Ganker?
I know at least one of you frickers played it too
Nier Automata
I will find your house and rub my anus on your pillowcase
you will get pinkeye
Some 2D SNES or PS1 or Sega Saturn platformer game I played around 1995-1999. Not Mario. Not N64. It has a desert map. Probably some cowboy theme.
Lucky Luke maybe?
It was some first-person game where you're in a sci-fi hovercraft and the world was covered in some kind of zerg creep stuff. The game started off with an FMV cutscene of a scientist knocking out a woman by hitting her over the back of the head and then he puts her in the hovercraft. It's been bugging me for well over a decade now.
Hovercraft and creep, sounds like V2000
i have two such off the top of my head. one was an N64 mech game i cant for the life of me remember. the other was an Xbox demo game i played when target still hade those. over the years ive come to accept the fact i may never find out the names of those games.
Anon...
>don't remember name
>what's her name
Anon, I....
I found mine last year.
>PS2
>Cartoon dude with a shield and sword on the cover
>Brown hair
That's all I have. It had something to do with skeletons
MAXIMO - GHOSTS TO GLORY
Brother man, are you kidding me? You're not going to tell me I finally found the game? If I youtubethis shit and it turns out to be the game, I'm going to personally travel to every anon's housei n this thread and give them a reacharound.
It could've also been Maximo Vs The Army Of Zin
It checks out. You guys better enjoy having your dick wanked by a strange anon.
It had a fun soundtrack too.
Dragon Quest? I dunno I never played it
A first person adventure game on PC. Game couldn't be much newer than the year 1996. You are navigating what appeared to be a lost planet. One of the parts had a robot you had to throw rocks at and it kept teasing you.
I still haven't even figured out the title.
One of the Zork games or maybe Journeyman Project?
I remember the interface being tiny like some of the Journeyman titles but the screen transitions were more traditional adventure games where you'd move scene by scene. Plus there were visuals for the items, not text.
there was this topdown shooter where you just go in and murder everyone with guns, between the levels there's a shop where you buy new things
there was also a level editor, and you could put down red carpets with swastikas
Sounds like that old finnish dos game with tank controls. Has a fricked up finnish name.
tapan kaikki? or we got explosives? theres lot of these shit and fun freeware games
Tapan kaikki was the one I was thinking of yeah, thanks. I'm not the guy that asked originally though, maybe he sees this
Third person ninja/samurai game on the PS2, i can't remember anything else it was in 2004/2005 and i played it only once at some friend's house. I remember a part with a camp and a lot of tents and there was sakura trees too.
Tenchu Wrath Of Heaven perhaps.
Sounds like an Onimusha game, could be Dawn of Dreams
Been looking for one recently. I remember a friend having a PC disc with multiple games on it and one of them was a 2D submarine game where you could shoot torpedoes up at ships and drop depth charges. The explosions were very red looking.
Old PC game from the 90s.
It was a 2D platformer, and you controlled a guy (and possibly others / NPCs?) through a stage full of booby traps and platforming.
The real fun though was you could build your own stages. I remember specifically creating a stage and having a glue "sticky" floor trap among others
It was a flash game on Newgrounds I think. You played Sadam Hoessein or something and you could nuke countries. That's all I know.
There were a lot of flash games featuring nukes and Saddam back in the day.
Was it World Domination though?
oh man I'm not that anon but I remember this one, I was a dumb kid that didnt speak english so I didnt know what I was doing but I remember it fondly
Oh frick yeah that's it. Sry for the late reply I was gone for awhile. Thanks anon
>could never remember old saturn game about driving a car around an alien planet
>just kinda remember the music and two guys giving commentary during cutscenes
>years later finally managed to find it
>off world interceptor extreme
It's almost orgasmic to figure it out.
It’s even worse for me, I barely remember the game play but it was so fricking weird I wanted to replay it. It was something like you were in a modern japanese setting (circa 2000) and you started fighting in the streets of the city and ended up near the beach. I didn’t finish it and I remember there being monsters. It might have been an fps/turn based battle system.
I rented it around 2000-2005 at a blockbuster and I don’t feel like looking at every PS1/Ps2 game to find it
to me those games were
>warzone 2100
>incubation
>outwars
then there is one survival crafting game where you crashland on an alien planet i just can't remember the name of
Okay. So there is this late 90s - early 00s PC game with cartoony cars, or at least I think these were cars. But it wasn't a racing game per say, maybe a 3D platformer. And you sort of fought these green alien slime things, their boss wore a crown as far as I can remember. Other than those vague descriptions I don't have jack shit.
A "game" where you could set up storyboards with different pieces of clip art and then animate them. Had cool shit like wizards and alchemy labs and shimmering israeliteels, but also had modern stuff like scuba divers.
for me, it was crisis beat
For years I couldn't remember this game. I remembered a demo, and have a group of red and blue demons that swapped between using swords and crossbows and that was it.
this truly is the "forgotten" Capcom game, as in tons of people know it but no one remembers. Haunting Ground is a little like this too but is actually very obscure by all metrics.
>For years I couldn't remember this game. I remembered a demo, and have a group of red and blue demons that swapped between using swords and crossbows and that was it.
Didn't Astral Chain massively rip off Chaos Legion?
Yes, but no.
A PS2 mecha game I rented from blockbuster. It started out on some planet and you eventually went into a ship/base. I think it had anime style portraits and one of the bosses was female. You could upgrade your mecha.
Also another PS2 game (I think). There was multiple playable characters and you would go through portals to enter levels. I think there was a witch and a muscular guy.
First game sounds like Zone of the Enders: The Second Runner (and if it is, you didn't get very far).
I remember playing a game with my cousin once. It was pretty cool.
>Guy uses a sword
>Can shapeshift into two other forms, I think one had a gun
>Some dude called Pavoo.. Pako or something was the bad guy?
>One of the characters tended to yell out "HERE IT COMES!" Whenever he was around
>I think it was Sci-fi
That's Alter Eco
>early 2000s low budget pc car combat game
>you can play in different parts of the world including a map set in italy
>one of the playable cars was a smart car among other unlicensed irl cars
>you can get an afterburner powerup that looks like it has a cross nozzle, like a phillips screw
>if you lost the game would play the classic sad trumpet jingle https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjYbW9J8Glk
still have no clue what the game is
Euroracer might be
been using my googlefu with this but it's been no luck so far
It was a 3D arcade shooter. I believe it was in third person and played a bit like quake (not 100% sure). I've veen trying to find this game for years but the closest i got was some Dreamcast arena shooter that isn't the one i remember playing.
Wtf was that weird side scroller you could play from somewhere on the internet where you played as a blueberry (I think) and it had different bosses depending on the route you took. Swear there was a Willy Wonka easter egg. This is not a fever dream I remember loving this game
played it on my uncle's computer, early 3d game with like 5 polygons per asset where you're moving forward towards the top of the screen on a spaceship avoiding obstacles, his pc was pretty old and this was the 90's but i was so young i have no recollection of the platform.
tempest?
Hover, maybe.
I will forever be haunted by that top down game boy game (could also be a gbc game) that I remember vaguely but I have no idea about the name or even how to explain it other then it kinda looked like pokemon without the battles
Survival Kids, maybe? It plays more like Zelda with survival elements but I can see you remembering looking like Pokemon. Legend of the river King could be another candidate.
Nah, both are too colorful for my memories
Also I remember it having a urban-like setting
You now remember those old Willy Wonka flash games
You combine different parts of animals together and then wage war with other combination of animals. If the gameplay sucks then I would like a modern version of that.
Impossible Creatures
>Impossible Creatures
Yes this was it. I never played it but I'm looking at the gameplay and it's a bit meh.
EVO The Search for Eden?
I know there's at least one anon ITT trying to remember the name of this game.
There was an old 2D game called Venture or Adventure, simple 2D maze with four colors with a black background, pink walls, collect items and go more rooms, but this game was not Adventure, just similar to Adventure. You'll never find it.
There was a collection of games really popular in slmy country that we all just called 256 games, on it was my jrpg that I played and never beat and I want to beat in now as a aduly. But frick me I cant find it at all. All i remember is that you start by going to class there was a centar and a girl, something went wrong. King was possed or something, we fought evil purple sphere monsters and thebintro was over, now the world open up. Any one got anything from this? I realy want to replay it.
Shining Force, sounds like maybe 2 or 3
Yeah. Agreed, sounds a LOT like Shining Force 1 or 2, a Genesis/MegaDrive equivalent of Fire Emblem. Most NA players thought that Shining Force was being ripped off by Fire Emblem because we didn't get FE games until WAY fricking later.
But yeah, Shining Force 2 I think. Was it a traditional JRPG with 4-person (or something close to it) parties walking around a map with random encounters? Or was it a Strategy JRPG where each battle was a large square grid and each unit would move and attack on one side, then the other etc? If the latter, DEFINITELY shining force. You had a centaur buddy early and a (blue haired) girl who was the hero's childhood friend, an early mission was against the possessed king and his guards (most of which wore red).
Holy shit its 2! Thank you! Now I just need to find a way to play it but the hard part (finding the name) is over. Thanks for thr help!
it's on both of the most recent iterations of the Sega Genesis Collection, I'd recommend the most recent one, it's on PS4 and Steam, I think. Golden Axe 3 and SoR are on there too.
Happy to help! All you need is a ROM and a Genesis/MegaDrive emulator. Hell, there may even be a fan translation or custom patch. Here's a good walkthrough as some of these games were NOT designed with things being self-explanatory and you were kinda supposed to have a strategy guide back in the day. https://sf2.shiningforcecentral.com/guide/
firefighting game on the ps1
you had a water meter
Rosco McQueen: Firefighter Extreme?
yes has to be
thanks anon
You collect fairies or pixies of some kind in various biomes and can fuse them
I think there was also a house I think were the fairies you capture hang out
luv me these threads
hate me the jannoids tellin us to go to
simple as
It was on a demo CD for Ps1.
It was either a strategy game or an RPG.
I remember different units had different weapons with durability(?) like 40/40 or something.
I think the demo took place in a metallic environment.
Never been able to find it.
PC point-and-click adventure game, played it mid 90s, I distinctly remember the final area involving a doppelganger/shadow version of the player character and once you defeated him you got all of your items duplicated essentially. There was a puzzle where toi combined two knives to make a pair of sheers. There were multiple lands/areas/islands.
It was a Japanese bullet hell just like touhou that came in a sly cooper case an aunt from the family gave me. The first boss was a butterfly, the ultimate ability of the character I picked was simply a shoop da woop. I only ever got past the first level.
i want to say espgaluda but that was japan only
Nope.
A few more details I just remembered: you could shoot your giant laser right from the get-go but you could only do it a limited amount of times per level. The first level took place over a city, I think it was night time. The second level you flew over the sea, and the boss of it was probably a robot that took up like 2/3rds of the screen
something I played on an old demo disc. PC game in 3D where you play as a mosquito or some bug like that, you could fly in all directions. I think you started in a garage and flew around collecting something
Ultra hard mode: Im looking for an obscure early 2000s Newgrounds animation. I think it was called "The Mongs" or "The Mongoloids" where a family of moronic people go to a petting zoo and jerk off the animals. Anyone know the actual name or have a link to it?
There were two games I'm fricking dying to remember but I can't remember much about them much less the name
One of them was a top view similar to Hotline Miami, very bloody and gory as well, you had like 4-5 characters to pick from, game had a white cover with a clown type of character aiming with a gun.
The other one is a RTS game, you could play as humans or aliens, it was set in the future terraforming planets and the aliens had to stop the humans. You could upgrade your unites and they'd get this red/yellow outline depending on the level of the upgrade. I remember playing that shit online with my friend against bots on a 56k internet, my entire base was completely destroyed, but as long as your commander was alive you wouldn't lose, so I just ran my commander across the entire map and just survived by hanging on my friend's base.
forgot to mention, the first was for ps1, the second on pc.
First sounds like Loaded or Re-Loaded
HOLY SHIT YEEEEEEEEEESSSS. It was the first one, holy fricking shit thanks anon
first is definitely Loaded or Re-Loaded like that other anon said, the second one definitely exists because I played it but I can't remember the name either.
For the RTS, Dark Colony or perhaps Mission Humanity?
MY FRICKING MAN. THIS IS IT. FRICKING FINALLYxstss
Which one was it?
Dark Colony
Gauntlet Legends took me forever to remember. All I recalled was Diablo with the Crash Bandicoot level select.
Mine was an RPG, sometime in the 2000s. Top down view, had character customization, had one of those systems where when you die, you lose all your equipment and you have to find your corpse. It was fantasy and had a fairly bright color palette. I really wish I could remember more.
Sounds like a Diablo clone. Probably Divine Divinity.
Sacred has brighter colour palette imho
Neither of those games, though I certainly agree it was a diablo clone. Problem is, I've never seen it on a list of Diablo clones. It drives me nuts.
Revenant, perhaps?
Boy that's a transparent clone
i used to play a game where you are a paraglyder and you have to dodge some dinosaurs or something, it was 2D
Weird late 90s cheap ass puzzle game i played in pre school
Graphics are of quality as that one "Baldies Basics" or im just filling in holes
Its just a preschooler gane but its been bothering me.
Played it in like 2003-2006 range
Played it here in belgium and was in dutch and i think its the only available language for it.
There was voice overs. Bright colors for kids. I think also as you completed ganes there was progress with many different puzzle games.
I'd be uber amazed if anyone finds this one
I only remember that it was a PC 2D top down racing car game I played over 20 years ago where your could choose the colour of your car and a few different very simplistic models. I remember calling one of those the suppository car.
I think one of the tracks was dark brown, arena style? with one or two bridges made out of logs.
A japanese game for PS1 about animals and some other jap folklore characters running through obstacle courses. I think you had to mash the bumper buttons to run while navigating through obstacles. I think one character was a brown bear and there was also a tanuki. Courses were comfy as frick like snowy mountain, forest, etc.
There was this game installed in my school's library computers. You went to a fair and you could win goldfish and then you could go back to your home and see them in a fishtank. This was in the mid-early 2000s, but I remember the game having older 2d visuals, so it was probably from the 90s
I don't even know if my memories of this game are real or if my brain made them up, but I vaguely remember a n64/xbox/psx 3rd person game about fighting using helicopters. It had a level taking place in someone's backyard, making the helicopters look like miniature toys.
>n64/xbox/psx
whatever the frick that means.
Chopper Attack
>remember the gameplay but not the game name
>What's her name, Ganker?
At least try and use your brain anon.
It was an NES game I gifted to a friend.
I only tried it once to check if the cartridge was working, and I thought it was interesting but never got to play it again.
I only remember that it was kinda Contra-looking and military-themed but much more grounded and realistic.
You control a guy, you run to the right, and you have a realistic pistol iirc. And you could at least get a realistic assault rifle or something.
Code Name Viper?
>Code Name Viper
It was so fricking long ago that I'm not sure but it does look kinda similar actually.
>the Rambo game
Not that one for sure
sounds a bit like the Rambo game
I remember I used to play a fighting game on MAME.
One of the characters was like the main guy but in robot form (not Robo Ky) and he wore a cape. The roster was pretty small and there was a lava stage.
Nothing past that.
>played a PS2/GCN demo at Target when I was a kid in early 2000s
>platforming?
>chess/checker patterned floor
>floating platforms
I don't remember if it was fun or not, just really curious what the frick I played.
Psychonauts? Alice: Madness Something or Other Wonderland etc?
>Psychonauts
No
>Alice: Madness Something or Other Wonderland etc?
If you mean American McGee's Alice, I don't think so, but I could be wrong. I don't remember the game I played being that edgy.
I remember there being two demo discs. One was some hotwheels stage and a send a truck down a pier to do damage.
The other one was some game where you pilot a helicopter around a base and could destroy it. The terrain was red like a desert and a UFO would also be flying around. Dont think I'll ever figure out what that one was.
It was a point and click flash game about a ghost, (the sheet with black holes eyes type) but like, a really tiny ghost rescuing his family after being blown away by the wind. It had comfty visuals, the colours that most stick out to me were the browns, and finally the final stage was a big bird. Hope someone remembers the game more than me and shares the name
it took me years but i found every weird rare game i couldnt remember the name off
Starshot
Tonic
Evos space adventure
dreams to reality
skunny
marble drop
urban chaos
overboard
hype the time quest
gift
guardian of paradise
rat attack
revolt
forestia
gordi panic in the studio
troy 2000
wonderland secret worlds
I think I only ever played ReVolt but I loved that game. Pretty sure it's freeware with community patches now if you google it.
Some kind of ps1 game about driving a car with weapons (not twisted metal) around a city where you were a good guy trying to stop the bad guys and the antagonist was also in a vehicle if I remember right. Pretty sure I just rented it once but it stands out in my mind for some reason.
SpyHunter. if not that then the 007 knockoff of SpyHunter.
Nah, Spyhunter was PS2 but I enjoyed that game as well and is somewhat comparable. However Spyhunter was very linear in the sense you just keep moving forward through a level whereas the game I'm thinking of had more of an open city feel if I remember right. I'm pretty sure there were objectives though.
hm. I think maybe Continue? on youtube played this years ago, if that helps. hope I'm not sending you on a wild goose chase.
It was one of those old java phone games, your character was a lizard or something, you had to jump to the top of a tower where there was like a hot air balloon waiting for you.
I also remember another game, don't really know which system it was on, i only remember that it was a sidescrolling shotter with mechs or powerarmored dudes and it had some gore, i only played the first level because the gore scared me.
wait, did he climb to the top of the tower because someone ate the food in his fridge and he got mad? I think that was the opening cinematic
I don't even remember if it had an opening cinematic to be honest
There are TWO games that I've been trying to find, but both have little details to go on...
One is from the Atari/Nes era ... though I think the latter. I distinctly remember the intro being climbing over a hill POV towards a tower / beacon of light, and the hill climbing was animated "Captain Tsubasa" style ... as in, rows of green squares. The actual gameplay was a 2D sideshooter where the 1st level had you shoot arrows in some greek ruins. That's all I have.
The 2nd game has even less info, only an animated mini-map with one of the locations being an animal head that vomited green lava.
Oh yeah, and there is a third game that was - I believe - in italian? Or french. It was an isometric tycoon simulator, graphics similar to Sim City but cartoonish ... as in, an oil pump was rubbery and bulged when loads of oil were pumped.
This game had a few scenarios, one being the oil crisis. I've poured over known tycoon lists a few times and ... oh well. Maybe it was some obscure demo that never got finished? Thank you in advance to anyone who tries to help.
It's a top-down shooter for NES that I've never finished because it kept crashing. The game started indoors.
some kind of desktop kids browse game, in the beginning you chose from a group of spacemen, green was the tallest one, and purple was the shortest one
Purple was the antagonist of the game and did something do upset "Galaxy police" or something, all I remember is that he had a redemption arc at the end of the game
He had a giant hammer, tried to kidnap a bunch of weird creatures and cries
looked like picrel
sus
mongoose
Gameboy Color
Before you start you choose the world size, small, medium, large.
Then you pick one of three characters. Wizard, Swordfighter, Rouge
Then you explore.
The game is not final fantasy adventure.
Extreme violence. A shitty little indie amiga game that provided hours of fun on my sleepovers at my friends house when I was like 6. Found it by one evening just doing a very concentrated google search dive
protip, if you are ever looking for the name of a game you played on a demo disc, almost all of those discs are archived online or atleast the info of what games were on it.
I found multiple games i couldnt remember that way
>those games you played when you are so young you're not even sure they exist
First there was this sidescroller shooter on the Genesis with dark graphics about a guy with a gun that went into a first person perspective in what I think were bonus stages, have looked into dozens of different Genesis shooters and never found it
I also distinctly remember an Asterix game, also on the Genesis that had piranha plant-like enemies coming out of the ground, looked into every Asterix game from that time and don't think it's any of them
And then there was this PS1 sidescroller platformer with digitized graphics (like Mortal Kombat), it WAS SHIT, I think you punched birds (or...pterodactyls?) with your firsts, even as a kid it looked pretty garbage. I only ever played the demo for it
There was a fighting game (this one also on PS1 I think) which had a drunken-master old man character whose special move was barfing, and it's NOT Mortal Kombat since Bo' Rai Cho wasn't introduced until the PS2 era, which I never had. I know other fighters (like Tekken and Virtua) had drunken guys, but I'm pretty sure they didn't have barfing
I'm never finding ANY of these and they were probably all shit anyway
>First there was this sidescroller shooter on the Genesis with dark graphics about a guy with a gun that went into a first person perspective in what I think were bonus stages, have looked into dozens of different Genesis shooters and never found it
Alien Storm?
I don't think so, I remember that game changing your perspective to first person every now and then, granted I was a 4 years old when I played this. There's so many interchangeable shooters on the Genesis that it's probably impossible to figure out
>First there was this sidescroller shooter on the Genesis with dark graphics about a guy with a gun that went into a first person perspective
Jurassic Park was a sidescroller shooter with first person segments.
I don't think the Genesis version went into first person
>There was a fighting game (this one also on PS1 I think) which had a drunken-master old man character whose special move was barfing, and it's NOT Mortal Kombat since Bo' Rai Cho wasn't introduced until the PS2 era, which I never had. My guess would be VS
There was a Gundam game on PS2 I really liked, having had zero exposure to the anime or series in general. It had anime cutscenes that I barely remember, but I know for sure that a cute little robot bird given from one MC to the other was important. The gameplay itself was something like an arena fighter, I think?
it's probably not these but you might try Encounters in Space and Zeonic Front. it sounds like the modern Gundam VS series but idk if there was a Gundam Vs on PS2
>robot bird
so it probably featured characters from the gundam seed anime.perhaps you could ask someone on /m/ in their game threads
It was like a beat 'em up constantly moving through different areas and you could play co-op. I think it was for the PS2 and from time to time I look for it and I can't fricking find it.
do you remember anything else? main character or anything?
Forgot to say it was 2D and I remember the characters were kinda funny like Blanka from SF, probably an arcade game but I wouldn't be so sure about that.
I remember part of the stage that was probably in a river with a bunch of ships in the middle of the city? I was like 5 back then so it is really hard to remember.
Fighting Force or The Bouncer.
Maybe this could help you.
I checked them and the one that looks the most like my memories is Captain Commando, but it still doesn't click. This is so painful, it could be this game but even if it was it feels like it's not.
There was an old Windows 95 voxel-based game that I had forgotten for years called Art of Flying. That one eluded me for the better part of 2 decades. In fact I don't think there was ever even a full game, just a demo.
Racing game, kinda like trackmania from years ago
Goofy tracks, good music, you could customize your car with different parts
You could boost but only a limited amount per track
Speed freaks on PS1 is a kart game I forgot about for years so maybe its that i dont remember if you could customise your kart
jade cocoon 1 or 2?
A playstation 2 (I think) game with something about Robin Hood. There were sections of the game with a map that was kinda like a 4x game and there was jousting tournaments and also sidescrolling combat sections.
I own it, it's called Robin Hood Defender of the Crown. it's ok.
Thanks anon, looked it up. Doesn't look like what I remember but there's no other game that fits the bill so it has to be this. I also remember it being just okay lol
np anon, if you like just OK games about English myth you might also try Legion: Legend of Excalibur on PS2.
There was this ps2 turn based rpg where you summoned monsters to fight alongside you. Maybe a roster size of 4-5 in battle and they leveled up. I think it was probably made by a Japanese studio. That’s literally all I can remember
There are like 10 million SMT games....
I’ll look into it but I don’t think it was an smt game
So it definitely wasn’t an smt game. The graphics tried to be more realistic and the setting was some random fantasy land that was in the future but had a gothic kind of abandoned feel to the arenas. The only other thing I can really remember is that you could freely repeat battles to grind xp
are you sure it was turn based and wasn't actually Lost Kingdoms
The art styles way off and I didn’t own a game cube. I remember 2 of the servants/monsters you could summon were ranged. One was an armored up archer and the other was this weird shellfish that would shoot water. I feel like all the monsters floated all the time too
Dude you must be talking about Chaos Legion that was posted earlier in the thread
I actually watched that gameplay reading through the thread but that didn’t look right either. Unless you could summon like 4-5 at the same time every fight?
The monsters ate up your "soul" bar which you got from hitting enemies, tap triangle your monsters would attack, hold it for a special ability, I'm pretty sure the archer monster you could hold down triangle to summon lots of them in a firing squad line behind you and directly control their fire
upgrades you purchased between levels would let you summon more than the normal 2-4 limit so yeah
That has to be it then. I don’t know where I got the turn based thing from, but I really don’t remember it being a hack and slash either. Thanks chief
>but I really don’t remember it being a hack and slash either
Now that I think about it there is a part where I guess the main red hair guy gets captured and you're forced to play as some girl who uses pistols and can't summon monsters but it's really short and I remember the game doesn't let you replay those levels maybe you only remembered that bit
Maybe. Watching more gameplay footage it’s absolutely chaos legion. Once I saw the fencers I remembered them instantly
idk but in Chaos Legion the gimmick was that you could summon a shitload of mooks and fight an even bigger shitload of mooks and the player controlled a little bit like Dante
I genuinely cannot fathom someone playing a game for more than 10 minutes and not remembering the title forever.
Ok Ganker I've been looking for an old game I've never beaten and google is fricking worthless.
>Probably PS 2 game
>You're part of a bomb squad and have to disarm two bombs
>First one is in a toilet near the beginning but the second one is further in
>Once you disarm the second bomb something happens and your own team is trying to kill you
>You escape further into the military base and that's about as far as I can remember.
PS1 mecha game with I's artist
I had this for years
it was an SNES game, played it on an emulator, it was a JP game.
gameplay was an srpg where the units where this chibi looking space ships and combat was seen on a perspective reminiscent of advance wars
the map was an hexagonal grid IIRC
been looking for it for years but haven't been able to find it
Sounds like Super Robot Wars
no that looks too good, this one had ships that looked like jelly beans with arms
think the ship from parodius and I think it was pink colored
also I just remembered that the first mission was on an asteriod field
One is an RTS game, pretty sure it was 3D but not 100% sure, medieval setting, I remember that it had food as a resource and you could build fishing boats.
Other is a small isometric puzzle game on windows where you walk on purple platforms in a set field, 8x8 I think, with a space background, some platforms break when you walk on them once, some make you slide etc.
Last is a Spectrum game I believe because it was on a cassette tape, I played it when I was like 3 or 4 years old and tried to find it for years with no success. It was a top down game, I think you had to shoot shit, I remember that you could move up and down the stairs to different levels, and those stairs were several blocks wide sometimes.
Chip's Challenge is the second one, maybe.
Nah, it looked more like pic related, but pretty sure platforms had rounded corners.
For me it was jazz jackrabbit 2. For a long while i thought that i halucinated the game and it doesnt actually exist but then i randomly came across it on youtube.
Maybe you guys can help me find a game I played back in 2010
Basically, the game revolved around building and crafting and killing enemies. The environments were all made of blocks with pretty basic low-res textures. Everything was randomly generated and I think the game was developed by a fat Swedish guy if I remember correctly. Any help would be appreciated
Trove?
PS3 action rpg game.
You have 4 monster slots on the upper left
You're a female on this.
Has some dark Alice in Wonderland vibes. And no it's not the Alice gory games.
Folklore
My prayers have been answered. Thank you anon.
Venetica? X Blade?
The answer for me was Crime Killer on the PS1
there was a game i used to play at daycare, i think it was on play station but i can't remember
it had hovering, futuristic vehicles that you fought against another player in splitscreen
wipeout?
Vigilante 8?
japanese fighting game for the ps2. when you picked a character you actually picked 2 and one of them would do magic with a book or some shit. there was also a small stuffed donkey or horse that made weird noises who didnt have a partner when you played him
Are you talking about MOTHERFRICKING GASH BELL?
Reboot when?
Reboot? Anon there is a goddamn sequel being published right now
I want a new anime
OH FRICK YEAH THATS IT
This was a game demo that used to come on Packard Bell and Gateway PCs around '98-'01 in North America
You piloted a sort of futuristic Mecha/tank and was in first person. Demo had you fighting off soldiers and another tank eventually. I remember the map being open field with a hill that had an enemy base on the otherside. Soldiers would swarm your tank if you didn't kill them all off
GNome?
Here are some hard ones.
An old Breakout-style game (yes theere were loads of those).
Either for DOS or early Windows.
The bricks themselves were red, but the backgrounds changed drastically and I think were interactive (e.g. level 2 was spooky, level 4 or 5 was in space).
The catch is, I think all the stages had renditions of classical music in them, sorta like In the Hall of the Mountain King.
Gotta be hard finding it, since there's a lot.
Another old game (DOS or early Windows). It was either single screen or a bit of an extended screen. Had multiple floors to it (think something like Mario Bros or Mappy). I remember it having a sort of a jungly aesthetic (like maybe green or beige colors) and you collected fruit.
>Another old game (DOS or early Windows). It was either single screen or a bit of an extended screen. Had multiple floors to it (think something like Mario Bros or Mappy). I remember it having a sort of a jungly aesthetic (like maybe green or beige colors) and you collected fruit.
Lode Runner?
You mean Pitfall, right?
No, you didn't collect gold. It had a jungly vibe and fruit. It was also an old Windows game, so it looked at least 32 bit in terms of color etc. (Same for the first game).
Please bros
pc puzzle game where you roll around a cube, bgm was samba-like music, i can't remember the goddamn name
A old DOS or Win95 pirate game where you had a ship and would navigate Caribbean ports. Trading goods so you could have gold for better ships. You could find other pirate ships during your travel and you could fight them, trading cannon balls. Very simple 2D/sprite graphics
Literally impossible to find, years of forum (and reddit in despair) posts and I always get dozen of game suggestions, all wrong. Even if you get a game idea while reading this, I gurantee you it's not it
so it's not sid meier's pirates
It's gotta be. Sid Meier's Pirates 1987.
>trying to remember the name of some old edutainment games or shitty flash games
Nightmare tier.
Last time I went down this rabbit hole I was trying to find this megaman fan game that I unironically liked even though it was really janky. It had the game boy color sprites and you could play as zero and one of the stages had the theme of evil ryu from street fighter alpha 3.
Many years later I find out it was called Megaman X Next 2 or something like that. There's hardly any evidence that it even exists though. Casually searching for it now yields no results. Theres footage of the first game on youtube, but it's like the second one was just a fever dream.
Mega Man Extreme. They aren't fangames, believe it or not.
No no, I played the extreme games on the GBC. The ones I was talking about were really shitty (yet kinds fun) newgrounds flash games that used the sprites from the actual game.
I SEE SUE
THE T-REX
Played a game on the PS2. Was almost exactly like Valkyria Chronicles. But was about aliens who had invaded some fantasy countryside. My memory remembers the art direction being like Megaman Legends but could be wrong.
The character had some sort of mask or bandage on his mouth. I believe the idea was that he didn't have a chin. He could absorb souls or straight up eat them when he removed that said bandage. I think it was in early 2000s when i saw it, around 2005 maybe.
Soul Reaver? kek
That's it, thanks.
my man how do you not know Soul Reaver, or really any of the Legacy of Kain games with Raziel
>cast him in
I only really have one of these, I bet someone will know immediately. it was a side scrolling beatemup/hacknslash with very, very slow attacks and MK style digitized actor graphics and a dark ages/medieval setting with longswords and shit. it was slow paced, you would normally fight one enemy at a time, and the best strat was to turn your back and do the "behind stab" attack. it was based on some period piece TV show that was popular at the time and wasn't Hercules or Xena, I'm pretty sure.
Hercules: The Legendary Journeys
nah this was 2D but the show was similar to that show
Bros help me remember
It was PS1 or it had to be, you play as like a blob thing and run on rails, the whole game is you ride/grind on rails and kind of claim sections of the map, you may paint them in your color i forget
you're fighting other cute blob things but it's kind of like a free-for-all with like 8 enemies everyone fighting each other, one of the levels is a circus and you can go up a rollercoaster
Iggy's Wrecking Balls?
No that seems to be N64 only, this was on ps1, I think the main guy on the front cover was like a red blob guy with a mohawk or spikes, but I dunno, so similar but it's not iggy
A small Moorhuhn styled game where you had to shoot Santas to drop their gifts into the pipes.
There is a game that might as well be a dream. If anyone puts this my memory's together I dont know what to say. It was an arcade type game where 4 people could play and it was a fantasy game with a top down view. Kinda Diablo-esk. Thats all i remember about it.
my guy, you don't remember Gauntlet? the one that got ported to N64, probably?
Dunno, just checked it on yt. I dont think its the game Im remembering. I just played in during one summer. Next to the beach there were few arcade machines and I played it there. I was early 2000, lets say between 00 and 03. I know Im not helping at all.
oh damn, on an arcade cabinet? no fricking clue, then. couldn't you summon stuff in Powerstone 1 and 2?
sorry, replied to the wrong post. if it's not Gauntlet then maybe Gate of Doom? do you remember anything about the artstyle or graphics or anything?
>do you remember anything about the artstyle or graphics or anything?
I feel like I have nostalgia glasses about that game cuz I remember it looking realy good.
It was a top view with an angle, the camera rotated automaticaly. It was a bit dark fantasy artstyle closes I can describe it would be diablo 3 artstyle. I had 3d models it was not pixel art. Dont know much else.
Also I think the time period Ive given is wrong. Maybe it was newer. Like 2005-7 even.
>top down
>diablo-esque
nyigga what?
sounds like "Only skeleton key opens this"
Its realy hard for me to describe because I literaly remember it like a dream. Gamplay is hack n slash it had 3d models you could play a wizard or a strong warrior or 2 others. Dont know much more...
That's gauntlet, bro.
Get Medieval?
>Time Travelling snail
It's was on the PS1
This was me with Wild 9 a long time ago. Still haven't played it again since finding it though.
It was a sidescroller with fighting robots for the SNES I think, there was a big chasm in one of the levels.
maybe Metal Warriors or Rise of the Robots?
It was a fricked up combo of Pokemon, Bomberman and Zelda on the Game Boy or GBC. But you didn't play as Bomberman, I remember playing as some Pikachu looking thing setting down bombs and you went through dungeons bombing shit. I looked through the Bomberman games on handhelds and none of them looked like what I remember.
Isometric
Point & click and puzzles
Build your character from components (I only remember a golden hand could be used as crawling legs)
The box included trading cards with codes to unlock certain body components
Strange planet
Windows 98
Some N64 game you played as a fricking robot and built a roller coaster. I don't remember much about it other then that but I remember the rollercoaster wasn't even the main part of the game
Rocket: Robot on Wheels?
How moronic you have to be to not be able to find this?
You can't single it down to one system? Like say the playstation?
You said you know the gameplay so you know the genre. Literally just YouTube "Playstation platformers" and videos with every single playstation platformer ever will pop up. Watch it until you see it
Come on bro
This thread is the ultimate proof that Ganker never hated games but always has been tsundere about them.
Played a game on mac os 8 or 9 that was a little puzzle platformer where you were some kind of animal collecting gems. I really liked the music. I've obsessively scrolled through lists of games and never found it
I can't remember the name of this Co-Op fantasy game on the PS2 that my cousin and I played when I was 7 or 8 years old. It gave off Elder Scrolls vides with the multiple races you could choose such as cat people and lizards. I played as a black tiger man with high intelligence while my cousin played as a strong busty babe. What was cool was that each player did certain things throughout the story. For example, I had to talk to a group of people that would be the second player's race to stop doing something near a wagon in the second level.
Champions of Norrath
2D game with a purple bug like character collecting gems by digging and trying not to get crushed by falling blocks or molten by lava
A 1990s fps. The environment was basic 3d, but I rmr the first person view was 2D. You could ride around in a car with guns in it, or you could get off on foot and fight thay way. Other games I had on the computer at this time were Marathon and shattered steel if thay helps.
Like Blaster Master?
After years of searching it was Burn:Cycle
I thought it was a PS1 game, but it was a CDi game.
Portals of phereon
Ok I've got one I played at school on the class computer in the late 90s, it's probably an early to mid 90s game because they were hardly state of the art computers.
This was a top down racing game around fairly small tracks, 2D sprite based. I just remember a few circuits including around a beach, a jungle island, etc. I've searched for top down racers but never found anything that looks the part.
I'm looking for a flash game from the 2000s that was a bit similar to this game Grow, it was isometric on like grassy islands and shapes, and you had to plant and water various shapes to do puzzles and finish levels.
There's a whole series of Grow games, so it could be one of them. I think they're even on mobile now
it was some side scrolling adventure game on the SNES, kinda like old point and click games. There was one part where you're trapped in a hanging cage and the guy who captured you said something in the most jank attempt at voice acting in midi form that just sounded like 'my butt stinks' before walking away. Afterward you
swing yourself back and forth to break out
I've never figured out what this game was everytime I looked for it but me and my brother kept 'my butt stinks' as an inside joke where we would just pop into people's rooms and say that before walking out
Out of This World? Never played it but I saw an LP a few years ago.
Holy frick thank you dude this is probably it but it also has me doubting my memory now. The look, style, and gameplay of it looks exactly like what i'm thinking of but there's details that are off, like in the cage scene the bad guy is on the left while the cage is on the right and the cave is brown instead of blue
I mean the cage thing is pretty specific. And now I remember the LP was from GameGrumps where a running gag through the whole thing was about the alien dude saying "Mycaruba" which is probably what you're referencing with "My butt stinks"
>Try to remember game
>Maybe even ask about
>Find it at last or have someone name it
>Hoorah
>A couple of years later
>Realize you forgot it again and have to search all over
>And you can remember that you asked and found it
>But not what the answer was
Happened to me three times with three different games. Now when I remember one of this I immediately go find a picture of it and save it with the title.
My older brother had the snes emu with like every game on it. I use to just randomly go through the hundreds of games clicking on them randomly and playing. One time I clicked on a sailing game and I had a frickin blast sailing. We moved not long after that and I never knew the game so it buged the hell outa me. Also keep in mind this was in the very early 2000s like 2000 2001 or so and jeeves wasnt frickin helping. I did end up finding the game uncharted waters new horizon and it is to this day one of my favorite games at least top 20. God I wish we got proper sequels and not the trash Koei shits out.
This might possibly be too obscure in that it might be some kind of game maker game, but anyway on PS1 I had a demo disk of various games and one of them was some kind of adventure game, all I remember is it having really crappy graphics even for the time and you played as some guy with a sword, I went out of a town into a forest area and got killed by a swarm of bats.
I think I only played it twice, the second time just to show a friend how bad it was, and only remember calling "Adventure Game".
Betrayal at Antara?
Or Crusaders of Might and Magic
No this was way shittier looking than those, I remember it looked like a game someone made on their own or something, and it was more cartoony and basic looking than those.
By god, there it is.
>Written in four weeks
I was right, made by one guy. That looks even shittier than I remember. Thanks for finding it.
Ah there's the "bats" at 14:00. Been twenty five years since I saw this.
You were right, it is shittier looking than those.
This happened to me with my brother, who remembered exactly what the game was when I described it. When I saw this image I was overwhelmed with memories.
I finally found it, a pirate game I've been looking for for ages. Turned out I had the year off, I thought it was mid 90s and was looking for point and click games from then, it's from 1998
>control a flying island
>you can build on it
>spikes, generators, cannons
>fight other flying islands
Stratosphere: Conquest of the Skies
holy shid that's it
Netstorm maybe?
Probably too obscure but I'll shot anyways. Was in kindergarden, sometime in 00 or 01, and I was playing some kind of army game on the school computer. Teacher saw that I liked it so much, she decided to lend the cdrom so I could finish it at home on mom's gateway and bring it back. It was:
>2d, had a bunch of game modes but I remember missle command like game where you are shooting paratroopers and a 2d fighting section
>Keep remembering the name Max Force with it but could be unrelated
>Finished it in an evening so short game, super easy too if I had beaten it at 5 years old
>Definitely had a mid 90's generic military vibe to it
>Not a very bloody or gorey game if the teacher allowed me to play it at such a young age
It's not much to go off of but it's all I can remember, I'd be surprised if an anon here actually remembers it.
>tried in multiple threads like this over a decade ago
>gave up
>barely remember enough to describe it now
Some sort of educational game set in an aquarium. I think it involved collecting items to add to it. Maybe there were balls you collected.
Treasure Cove?
Nope.
Anyone got a picture of Chloë Grace Moretz's cameltoe that you saved from this board? There's a high chance I can find the game I'm looking for by it. No, I'm serious. There was someone linked the gameplay with that picture in a coom thread years ago and I'm sure it would be faster if I look into it myself than to ask about it here as it's a very obscure game. Any pics of afromentioned nature will do.
Ganker has plenty of pics that match that description. You should be asking there.
Some PS3 third person shooter game where you start out in some laboratory/hospital type building, and there are some SpecOps guys that are after you. You control two characters, a guy and a girl, and can possess various objects like monitors and what not, IIRC. I didn't even check the game's name before booting it up.
A game where milk was a resource and every unit had an equipment screen.
You played as a prince ousted form his kingdom and the first mission has your merlin figure summon wolves for you to fight then cry because he hurt you doing so.
Then you go off to reclaim your armor because the butthole kid won't open the gate unless you prove you're the prince.
There was an NES game I played that I think might have been ninja themed but don't hold me to it, all I remember is it's a sidescroller and you were going through a forest with big trees and apples, it was pretty basic. You might have been throwing ninja stars but I could be mixing that up with another game.
Could be Kid Niki
Good game.
Hmm, these are both reminiscent alright, but I don't think either are it. I think my one was more cartoony, there were definitely big apples in there somewhere. Complicating things is I had a bootleg NES from the Middle East that was loaded with tons and tons of games, most pretty simple ones like Clu Clu Land or Nuts & Milk, but not all of them had names that were that clear, probably they were Japanese games.
Adventure Island?
Hmm, still not it. Doesn't help that the NES had so many damn games.
Legend of Kage?
This weird arena battle game thing where you play as robots that move around by rolling around on a ball and you like fight each other and knock each other into stiff or off ledges, all the robots where color coded to
This happened to me with Tribes Aerial Assault. I wish I could play that and also Vice City Stories, I'll have to see about an emulator for VCS.
Mischief Makers. It’s always mischief makers. *shake shake!*
Okage shadow king
it was a ps2 game that took place on a space ship ala alien, and there was this big rage monster thing that chased you around and it was third person, don't remember much else other than it scared the living shit out of 10 year old me. Probably what made me irrationally spooked by games like outlast or amnesia that has big homies chasing you to a dude slamming on a piano
Extermination
Oops, I meant Run Like Hell
>Run Like Hell
ayy there it is, doesn't look as scary as I remember funny how that works
gripshift on the psp
there was another srpg one i rmember a little bit because it had the tiles but i ain't about to go searching
I somehow remembered this on my own, might as well post it.
Pretty good game, I could never forget it from back then anyway just because I read and re-read my gaming magazines as a kid so I had all those N64 games memorized
>Pretty good game
Was it? I only had the gameboy color version and it kind of sucked. The N64 version seems to be an entirely different game.
I've played the N64 one, it's a solid FPS from that time
there was this city builder game, i think, that had a narrator with a sarcastic voice that commentated or quipped about everything you do, the thing i remember the most was when you deleted a building it said ''out of sight, out of mind'' in a very sarcastic tone, it was funny
Startopia?
Test
A flash escape the room game where you are in a bunker having to interact with computer screens, and eventually you work out there's been a nuclear apocalypse outside. This I guess is mid to late 2000s.
I'm looking for a c-64 game, where you catch shoplifters. You were just a crosshairs, and you'd have aim the people to get them
Looking for an NES game, a platformer I recall having like Japanese castles as the levels. It was pretty basic, just simple levels and enemies, like an arcade game.
One of the NES Goemon games?
No this was side perspective and more basic than that. the levels were tiny and more like an arcade game
I've been thinking about this one on and off for a while. It was a 3D beat 'em up on the PS1, and I played it at a friend's house where he one of those legendary binders full of pirated CDs so it might not even be localized (the language, at least, was Japanese). I never realized how many PS1 beat 'em ups there were until I tried searching this up through description alone.
You played through the story in pairs of characters. First pair was a generic punch guy and a generic fast girl. Second pair was a badass butler guy who attacked with kicks and always kept his hands in his pockets, and an androgynous little kid.
I remember a casino level, and another level that was a mall with a long elevator sequence where tons of ninjas burst through the glass at you.
Final boss was an undead military general guy inside a nuclear submarine.
I don't know if the video game even came out, but I think it was supposed to be for the GameCube or PS2. You were supposed to be able to draw stuff and have it fight for you or something. I remember it was in a gaming magazine. It isn't Drawn to Life or it's sequel, the visuals were different in the screenshots.
That's about as much as I can remember.
Graffiti Kingdom?
That might actually be it. This looks super damiliar. Thank you Anon.
I'll give it a shot
>played at the local arcade in early 2000's
>3dish beat em up with 2 player coop
>Second stage was a parking garage
>remember there being something about a fire truck or extinguisher.
>possibly had gun pick ups?
Two DOS games I remember playing in preschool.
One was a puzzle solver game, had a lot of fictional fairy tale characters you have to help, at the end of the game your character wakes up and has a medal around their neck.
The other one had you climbing a mountain. I distinctively remember there were tunnels you could go through, and you went around the outside of the mountain to find stuff to get higher up the mountain. Might not be better accurate on that last part, but I do remember the tunnels. If I saw a screenshot it'd probably awaken my memories as a four year old.
I definitely remember the mountain game having much more green and grassy textures, but that feels pretty close to how I envisioned the other one.
>think of a game you can't remember the name of
>what's her name, Ganker?
This is your brain on Ganker.
I'm pretty sure this game was well known but it would have been early 2000s and the only scene I remember is a demon-guy raping a typically scantily clad girl in some clock tower in a cutscene? The graphics were japanese-resident evil style. Would have been ps2 or maybe late ps1?
Mom worked at Public library so I ended up trying a lot of odd games, I remember this one being some kind of point and click with a prerendered look maybe between 1996-1999. Couldnt get past the time part which was like the inside of a great tree or a steampunk thing that took you down into the rest of the game
Got a memory of a game from the 90s with a first person view in a jungle, I think you were piloting a robot or a mech.
AAAAAAAHHHHH That's me. I remember Going to my uncle's house and playing a game in which you play as a cool Gundam looking robot in space that transformed into some sort of fighter jet. I distinctly remember having to boost in plane mode to dodge the many lasers flying through the screen while using a cool sword in Gundam mode. It was cool as frick, I played it only once and no matter how much time it passes I can never find even a single picture of it online AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH
Help me remember a Super Nintendo sidescroller where you play as either a robot or a guy in a mech suit.
A notable level was you were a giant in what looked like a Desert Storm level on Earth.
every other level you were not a giant.
Metal Warriors maybe, there was another game called Cybernator which was similar, probably used the same engine
Just checked, and it's neither but thanks for trying.
I found it!!!!
Xardion
MEMORY UNLOCKED
Some educational game with Donald Duck for DOS, i think, where you have to pick up letters, i think.
had a bunch of classical medieval and fantasy races, like Normans, Saxons, Samurai, Chinese, Spartans, Orcs, Trolls, etc. thats all I remember.
it was like a might and magic type of game
I had 3 games like this in my memory, one of them I randomly found in an old CD around my house, but the other two I never found...
Here are them just in any case anyone has any idea:
One of them is a game where you controlled a ship and played against IAs, you had to go after a light that would show up in the floor and the first ship to reach the light would won score and the one with highest score would win when the time ends.
The second game was about a 3D ball third-person platformer, In the game you had to go through paths like mazes and reach the end without falling from the level.
They were Windows games btw
Second one sounds like Iggy's Reckin Balls.
Nah, it was a Windows game. To be honest I think it would be almost impossible to find that one since there are lots of games with this setting 🙁
Took me forever to find the name for Chaos Legion
Some FPS game about the Cold War and instead of health regeneration you had syringes.
I played that game so much to find glitches and ended up somehow getting on top of the map in the snow mission
I remember playing a game on DOS where you were a anthropomorphic duck who was fricking jacked and had a gun, it was a sidescroller. Does anyone have any idea what I'm talking about?
Crazy Drake
That's not it, but it was a good guess. How many games about ducks with guns were there on the MS-DOS?
only other one I can think of is Cold Shadow but the character wasn't "fricking jacked", he also had an alternate mode where he turned into a ninja
nevermind, Cold Shadow was Windows apparently, so I really am not sure what else there would be
I played a demo of a game that was very similar to Starcraft, sci-fi RTS from the late 90s, soldiers and alien enemies.
It's not 100% out of possibility I played a demo OF Starcraft but I do think this was a different game
There were a lot of games like that back then. Dark Colony? Outlive?
>Outlive
Huh, there it is, Outlive
Thanks
PC game, eali 2000s. You were an alien being held at area 51 and you had to escape, killing Gmen with a ray gun or something. I remember it being trash, never been able to find it, even tried that list Ganker made a few years ago.
there was this one rts ps1 era of video game that i fell in love with, it was very similar to command and conquer red alert and that's about all i remember. the setting felt a little more futuristic than red alert though
i remember this one platformer game i think you are some sort of chameleon (it isnt gex) and all i could remember is that you use your tongue like yoshi except to swing from platform to platform. its like donkey kong country with its mix of 2d and 3d assets but aside from that i cannot find the name of the game
forgot to mention it was on the N64
Was it chameleon twist for the N64?
thanks for the quick response anon
but i dont think its this one.
it was more like a side scroller type of game.
(think Kirby64)
>what's her name, Ganker?
this is stupid but i lold
An old snake-like game for DOS with proper scrolling levels instead of the usual single-screen ones you see in snake. Black background and strong reds and blues for walls, your snake, apples, enemies, etc.
For me it was Jetpack 2, an unlicensed GameCube game that was packaged with several others on the Maxplay Classic Games disc (which I got with my action replay). It's a cool game where you can fly around and shoot dudes (I think it used deathmatch rules) and the environment is 100% destructible so you could do cool shit like burrow behind enemies and dig out bases. A few years ago I searched anywhere and everywhere to find it because the game is really obscure. To this day I don't think there's even any gameplay footage of it on youtube, but it's a neat little game.
>PC game
>Humongous like but isn't one of their games
>point and click mystery adventure game where you solve puzzles to find clues
>the game is randomized so each time there is a different set of clues, and puzzles to put together to learn who stole the cookies from the cookie jar
>the characters kinda look like the ones from humongous baseball
it's a baby game I know but its the only game I remember playing but cant remember the name of. I wanna find out if there were other games in the series, and actually play it and beat it for once.
