Okay, I get that we can't go some threads without Mental Omega being mentioned in some capacity by anons who lack the capacity to keep their mouths shut about it but are epic units really that indicative of that single mod? I mean before that we had the epic units in Kane's Wrath and the prototype Mammoth Mk. II in Tiberian Sun, maybe other units of a similar vain in other RTS titles, unless RotR's epic units are in direct conflict with Generals overall game design or simply doesn't make any sense in the grand scheme of whatever's happening in the mod's storyline are the epic units really a negative?
I don't have anything to say about the rest of what you mentioned, I don't even remember the last time I played 1.87 or the older versions and as far as I recall I pretty much only played the GLA whenever I did.
Rise of the Reds 1.8 came out 11 years ago, in 2012, that version added European Continental Alliance with 3 special protocols allowing faction to build Super Units. Mental Omega 3.3.0 came out 7 years ago, in 2016, that version added Foehn Revolt with 3 subfactions and each one of those technically had its own Super Unit.
Before 3.3.0, in 3.0, Mental Omega had only 3 Super Units, Aerial Fortress Irkalla for Epsilon(Yuri's Army) subfaction Epsilon HQ, and two for Soviet subfactions, Centurion Siege Crawler for China and Stalin's Fist for Russian, and even then Stalin's Fist is technically just mobile War Factory. If i am not mistaken, the only Super Unit in previous versions of MO, such as 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 and 2.0psi was Centurion Siege Crawler and its secret variant.
The idea of Super Unit isn't new to C&C and was presented in games back then and without mods.
Stealing ideas and assets also nothing new to C&C and mods, but saying that ROTR stole something from MO when the most prominent versions of MO didn't came out yet is complete absurd. And, as far as i know, MO stole assets from ROTR, Twin Fang for example.

My favorite part about this is that they expend 10 years saying how epic units were cringe and only Europe will have them, and now they added them to every other faction. This is, however, usual stuff with The_Hunter, he also said he hated WW2 units and then he added a bunch of them in Shockwave

I do not agree, they have the best artillery and, when covered with tanks and gatlings, they do not leave a chance to the opponents. It's just that AI is good enough to counter super-heavy tanks. > epic unit

they recently put out 1.9 but for devs only. GLA has a new virus missile addon for toxin tractors which basically makes infantry useless against them
