the worlds really lack depth to pull the players in, but then again, this isn't singleplayer open world like Witcher 3, the format can not be applied.

I've been playing this game since 2017. Well, actually I downloaded it in 2014 but stopped because I fused all my ability mods. Yes DE is fricking around with shit, but the game at its core is still pretty damn good. I don't remember why I stopped playing it, so I'm picking it back up. I think this time I'm just going to join a clan or go a solo clan instead of the dead ghost clan I'm in.

One word: endless. Warframe had a decent form of endgame back in the day when void towers were a thing. It was repetitive, sure, but it was challenging, and endless. You could bring different builds and try different team setups, trying to squeeze the most loot out of a key. that is exactly what we need back, some form of rare keys that grant you access to a vault you can grind for as long as your power level allows you to. There's been countless ideas of endgame on the forums but DE is too busy making quests and touching the particle engine to be shinier, in their mind they already addressed endgame with steel path so they're good to move on.
Another thing warframe needs is to tie up its islands of content. They kept trying ideas that got abandoned and don't make a lot of sense anymore. The simulacrum, syndicates, archwing, etc. They lied when they said Railjack would connect it all, or atleast they hoped it would, but ironically it became another island of content, waiting to become relevant for a week when the duviri comes out. I could go on about what warframe needs but above all it needs a better direction. No more trend chasing and silly ideas.

It wasn't good. Having to sit for hours in the same mission is not great design. The Relic System is far superior to void-keys. You have far more control over what you're actually gonna get.

that's where you're wrong, staying in a mission with a squad for up to an hour or more, without void magic kid granting godmode revivals was warframe in its prime. Now it's just zooming through void missions within 30 seconds and no reason to stick around because the incentive they added is underwhelming at best.
There's no current form of endless mission that's meaningful. As you say, you CAN bring your builds and setups to any endless mission, but none will reward you for doing so. The rotation system encourages you to quit every 20 minutes or waves, so enemies never become a threat. The funny thing about meta slaves is that the game has become so piss easy you don't even need to be a meta slave, there's 0 reason to be, again, the game doesn't ever get challenging.

There needs to be a loot cave. Every game has one. Warframe used to have some before they were cherry picked out of the star chart. They should've instead endorsed it and made an official "loot cave" but they never did.

In retrospect, I hate myself for spending a good sum of money on Plat. Played the game since it was literally in Beta, then had a hiatus of multiple years and spent plat when I got back to buy stuff like Nidus since he was cancer to farm.
I had literally all I needed and enjoyed like 3 years ago, yet I continued to farm for frames and weapons I knew I would literally delete after I maxed them out for the the mastery rank. Now I try to get back into the game over and over every few months to justify the couple of thousands of Plat sitting on my account, but cant play it more than a few days because there is literally nothing to do. put it well, you have tons of stuff to use and enjoy but there is not content worth a damn to use it in. Steel Path is just as fast as normal these days with everyone kitted to the teeth, those Stalker copycats that spawn die in seconds.
Its a shame this game will never be good, in part because of how casual it is. They cannot inject challenge when you got casuals used to farting and killing 3 entire rooms of people in 1.5 seconds, and these are your most paying customers. The hardest pill to swallow is that this game will never be good, no matter who is in charge. The best one can do is grit their teeth and admit they spent thousands of hours being a grindbot and move on.

Cause lets be real you are only using the archiwing on open worlds, dropping down on the objective, finishing it and moving out.
There is nothing to do in open worlds but farm rep or resources that are arbitrarily separate from the resources you find elsewhere.
So no I dont like open worlds that feel like a chore. Instead of utilizing the place for questing and unique mission they put the same shit they always did but now you get shit on if somehow you dont have an archwind and the mission now takes twice as long to complete.
open world is more immersive and fluid, yeah mission variety could have some work but after playing thousands of hours in narrow spaces which also STILL riddled with all sorts of bugs yeah id rather pick another open world type area on another planet over more shitty corridors that often hamper my movement

Yeah the Zariman missions are nice, lots of shit to explore and discover alongside the plumes. The droptable could be better though, with how slow some of the mission-modes are.
Amazes me that it also has some of the most unique mission types, unlike the open worlds, like all that open space and they couldn't think of 2 good things to do with it?

It's a one time bug that happens if you start a bounty immediately after doing the story quest without reloading the map. I thought the area was only npcs when I took the bounty but when I aborted and returned could then see other players load in. It didn't happen again but one would think a simple test would catch that.

The thing I hate most is that the relics are a massive grind. Now you have to grind for a specific relic, then grind void piss to refine it, then grind those out until rng favors you. Literally three additional steps of grind or rng . With keys, you built them and then you stayed for as long as possible. New system is just a different shit flavor, but some how even shittier to try and keep maus up.
Just grind with friends. 4 relics a drop 10%x4 per rare. It's so easy.
NTA, I used to do this, but all my friends moved on to other games. Then I moved to pubs and that can be hit or miss with whether the host drops out. Something else I've experienced is that in Def or Intercept, void drops might not be frequent enough so I've lost out on a relic here and there. They really do need to refine the relic system, but I don't really think much about it. You either grind out parts for Plat, you grind out parts for what you want, or you buy that shit with plat/$$.
I think the biggest difference is how the grind was presented to a lot of people present for that transition. First it was just get the key, go to mission and stick around after 450 forma to get your shit in 3 hours or more. Now it's 3 hours grind, but the grind is dispersed all over so it feels longer when it most likely isn't.
You shouldn't even try to compete for kills. The game isn't competitive in nature, and there's no leaderboards for which single individual killed the most elite lancers on Titan.
But I agree with the sentiment, when you have someone super strong it makes the game a snooze fest, which is why they constantly buff enemies and nerf shit.

The problem is that DE doesn't play their own game. That's why it's taken them 5 years to finally buff defense objectives' health in accordance to the mission-level - and that's why it'll take them another 5 year to realize the defense objective's health need to scale with the mission-round/timer instead.
It's also why we now have stupid nerfs to defense-oriented abilities, you can no longer reduce the damage the defense objective takes by more than 50%, instead of the 90% prior, nor can you heal it based on percentage, but instead a flat, maximum of 100 health a second.
These are real issues with the game, not homosexuals reminiscing about the past.

While I can understand mistaking inaros-players for a defense objective, with how he's usually stationary and completely useless in missions, I don't think I mentioned these things affecting warframes.

Yeah, I was there for those changes. I don't think Garuda's blood well works on non-living defense targets (should work on Arbitration ones though, since those guys are actual units?).
When I was breaking down the math of how severe those nerfs were, the main crowd DE flaunts to were all for those nerfs, mainly because they don't view the endurance missions as endurance, just the 20 and done sort of missions.
I think the only viable ability now is Well of Life, but the flat 100 can really be detrimental as the mission progresses, or if you start a level 50 or higher mission, 100 HP is nothing.
Unrelated, but does Chroma's Elemental Ward ability stack with Mesa's Shatter-Shield? I noticed you can subsume chroma's Ward and wanted to see how nasty that was with either Mesa or Inaros.
Tanks are still tanky, but equally useless if they cannot supplement their tankiness with lethality. The new Eximus units are huge sponges with the double health bars that prevent CC.
I do like the new abilities for Eximus units, it makes them actually a threat, and got me back to playing Nyx.
They sound fun. Does that mean Mag is useful now?
Pretty sure she is still really solid versus corpus. It's been a while since I played her since rework, so I don't know if her shield sucking ability works on Guardian Eximus units. I think she also strips armor too, so there's that, and her magnetize can still get headshots, so anything with punch-through is still solid for picking out tougher enemies.
I never cared for how Mag played, but my last impression which was several patches ago, prior to the new Eximus stuff was pretty good. It's just there's other frames with abilities I find more useful in general. Her pull is kind of useless, so I subsume that for anything that can group the enemies; Larva, ensnare, Gyre's Coil thing. They honestly should just get rid of pull and give her a good damage option beyond just magnetize. Her kit really revolves around magnetizing enemies and stripping their defenses, though with the element rework, it's arguable that there are better abilities and frames for that.
I much prefer Hildryn just due to having the same options while still being tanky along with the added shield-gate passive. Pair that with harrow's chains, and you essentially can never die while having reliable CC and ""energy"". Or you can go Thermal Sunder and just melt everyone and get the ""energy"" back just as quick. I generally bounce between Hildryn, Nyx, Excals, Mesa, Zephyr, Vauban, Garuda.

I'd have to go back and look at the new focus tree, but I am surprised that I am using more than just one now depending on mission. Prior to the focus rework, that gutted vazarin pretty hard in my opinion.
You still have the protective ""SLING"", and the void snare ability sounds interesting on paper, but with the new Eximus reworks CC is kind of neutered too in a way. It really should have been an additional Damage% in some way to help with that.
Vazarin was one of those "get out of jail free" cards that needed a rework, and still needs that. Protective Sling is Ok for team-mates, but the delay on transference matched with the delay of the sling is very unappealing to say the least, though easily gotten-over.
The rework of focus is sort of a step in the right direction, they just need to go the full 9 yards and make operators a full on threat to enemies. They sort of did that with the void re-work, they are kind of there now with the focus tree rework. Operators really need mods that can assist with the gaps I think (casting speed namely).
Somehow, they managed to make Operator feel even slower to use while trying to address the problem, so they really need to fix that.
If Wisp Prime is doubled on the curves like Mesa was, I won't be able to play the game. I'm already worried the new Wolf warframe with its huge bahonkers will do to me. I've been saving plat and selling shit off like a mad man.
With that said, I will be filled with utter dread if the Wolf Warframe does not have any booba or boota that resembles the concept art.
Protective dash/sling is worthless now because it's capped at 500hp/5sec on defense objects vs 60%hp/5sec. So it only heals a measly 500hp on a 120000 hp defense object, very cool DE.
Atleast operator-switching is now client-side so you no longer have to wait 10 seconds when the host is a furry BR with 120ping.

Just slap on the operator-arcane that heals every frame a percentage of their hp every second. There's no reason whatsoever to use vazarin now.
The invulnerability time is nice for team-mates, but yeah Repair is a really good arcane now, especially since you can't spam transference anymore for the other arcane.
They really do need something. Honestly it would be cool if the elements were brought back in some way as ability-mods (what a throw-back) for operators. Would be interesting.
Didn't know about the cap though. The dash hitbox is pretty big, so it is still sort of good for team-mates but that really only applies in situations where you and the at-risk-of-dying team-mate are relatively close enough and there is enough time to transfer out, line up dash, and then dash. Repair really takes those last two steps out, at the cost of no invincibility. By that same token though, any-one could run rolling-guard, so it really is a moot point. They just need to buff those lesser-used trees. I would love to see Madurai be able to spray fire and deny enemy paths, or see Zenurik go Emperor Palpatine on some corpus units.
Would love to see Vazarin be able to designate healing+/armor+ zones with their dash amplifying that in some way. There's so much creative-freedom they could take, but choose not to and it's really disappointing.
But yeah, that's all a pipe-dream, they are never going to make Operator anything more than just a utility in most cases. Was so pissed off that the operator didn't get to keep the Sentient Bow at the end of the new quest. Like...

They largely function the same in that Madurai still has voidstrike, but it's now an ability that increases your damage depending on your current energy-levels instead of sitting in void-mode for 2 minutes.

The entirety of Warframe is predicated on the fact that people assume the grind is all in service of an eventual goal, like how in WoW you do reps and do dungeons or low-level raids with the eventual goal of running Heroic/Mythic raids or higher level M+. In Warframe, there is no light at the end of the tunnel. You could have a completely kitted out frame, level and level and grind and level and grind and level and level, and you finally get to whatever is passing as 'endgame' that patch, and it is functionally identical, including in how boring it is, to the gameplay you had in the first few hours
The only saving grace for Warframe is that the story missions are overall really, really good

If the majority of the playerbase honestly cared about "endgame" in Warframe, DE would have filed for bankruptcy half a decade ago.
People don't care about that, they just want more over-the-top powers to unlock, progression bars to fill, and cinematic experiences to watch. Steel Path and Arbitrations already filters most of the "endgame-ready" players and slowly trying to overcome these game modes while looking at their favorite, fully-customized, deluxe-skin-equipped warframes' butts already makes them happy.
I just want a gamemode where I get to make decisions instead of spamming a skill all the time.
Unfortunately that will never be popular in warframe. It's disappointing but honestly I don't blame people for liking to mindlessly kill things, be it with optimal monkey trouble builds or with "free-style" builds with sub-optimal builds and forgotten weapons with high riven dispositions. The core of Warframe is pretty much designed like that and I don't think WF's new management will try to mess with that.

Sure, some people dedicate too much time to live service games and are constantly afraid of losing their online-only "save files", but people avoiding in-game chats is less about moderation issues and more about people preferring to either keep to themselves or to only interact with their favorite internet tribe of choice. Finding like-minded individuals on the internet is too hard nowadays and I don't blame people for using discord or other tools like Ganker in an attempt to stay away from "undesired company".

I did give in and played for a couple of hours
Claimed some foundry items, levelled them up a bit, just mastery fodder and a Titania prime that I don’t care about.
Looked at the baro stuff and oh boy there are a lot of stuff I would like to get but it seems I used up all of my dukats and I don’t know what parts to sell.
Looked around my ship and also at all my items, most of them are outdated now and I would need to go farm primes to get the new stuff too.
Could get ivara prime the (prime version of the) frame I made my first goal to get after ember.
But in all honesty I just don’t feel like playing. Sure it wouldn’t take long to do a few missions abd get what I want unless there is standing stalking me. But once I do get the frame and the weapon and mod it… then what? Nothing but the next one. I wanted to finish the yareli shit and the new war but the first one is just tedious skating around fortuna and the other one needs me to build a necramech whose parts need stuff locked behind standing…
I guess I will try again with some morning coffee but yeah not optimistic
