Warning to the few shmupbros on here. The Cotton Saturn Tribute has more than 10 frames of input lag on all versions. Now that's really shitty in general but especially for this genre, might be wise to avoid the upcoming Deathsmiles collection as well, since its being handled by the same company.

The Saturn is notoriously difficult to emulate and the games already had 6 frames of input lag to begin with.

I don't trust HD remasters or ports at all.
Least of all when they are brought to the Switch and will inevitably somehow run worse than the original game.
M2, Live Wire, and Hamster are the gold standard for porting games to the Switch, especially shmups. All of their titles are 4 frames or less and they usually include nice bonuses.
Hamster is just emulators though.
Not familiar with Live Wire.
M2 used to be top-tier, but now they just do emulators as well.
Goddamn, I'd love for a company to put in the effort that M2 did with the Sega 3D classics.
Livewire has just been porting the CAVE 360 ports to Switch and doing a really good job at it at a reasonable price to boot.

They don't have the source code to any of these games, release on a weekly schedule, and these are as close as you can get to arcade-perfect emulation. Yeah, emulation is a bit cheap, but have you played their latest Xevious port? They do give a shit about the quality of their releases.
I was looking forward to Deathsmiles on Switch but I can't fricking trust Shitty Connection. I'll never be able to retire my 360 because of these hacks.

Just so people know, that other Cotton game on Switch Cotton Reboot doesn't have such problems since it was a different dev. So get that one if you're interested in Cotton.

Anyone recommend other shmups on Switch that don't have major problems? I'm getting Crimzon Clover for sure and Cotton Reboot.
Mushihimesama and Espgaluda II are on par with their 360 ports (they're great). The upcoming Daifukkatsu port should be good too since it's done by the same guys.
