I think you meant to post Fallout NV, Bethesda had all the time in the world to make F4 work, you can only imagine how good NV would have been with a more fleshed out House and Legion routes.
Then the best thing you can do is automatron early on. Build your own robot death machines and unleash them on the commonwealth. Make them into provisioners bringing death to everything in their path. Give them stuffed animals as a hat as they do it.
Also if you name your next character frickface, codsworth will actually call you that.
The only good quests in the entire game are Diamond City Blues, The flight of U.S.S Constitution, and that one Covenant quest I forgot the name of. I can come up with so many better quests just for the fun of it. How was there no Salem synth trials quest in the game? It’s like brain dead fricking easy. And Emil wanted there to be a quest in Salem about a couple of kids who gained superpowers from radiation. What a fricking moron.
And not a single Braderunner reference outside the coursers coat and an out of the way easter egg on a roof somewhere. Not a single whodunnit quest trying to find out who the synth murderer is, not a single bounty quest where you "retire" synths on the run, no group of anti-synth activists that the railroad needs to deal with. I'm sure I could come up with more ideas if I were bothered. Completely insipid and uninspired all around.
You could easily also add some radiant quests for the Gunners. Instead of making them generic raiders, have them be a mercenary faction where you can take up bounties and do other radiant quests with. Or add some radiant caravan quests where you escort a caravan from one point on the map to another. Fricking hell man. It’s not difficult at all. I’m being unironcally 100% serious when I say I think Emil might have brain damage or something. How can you be so fricking stupid to squander so much potential?

Oh, and not to mention how literally 1/3 of the map is fricking water with nothing to do in it. Add some fricking sea creatures and sea/plant life. Make it more interesting than just literal fricking water. I know they were going to have that underwater vault quest (that sounded stupid as well, with the octopus overseer or whatever it was), but that would hardly cut it. Turn that giant shipwreck place with the raiders into a actual settlement. Add fishing or hunting down legendary sea animals. Add more loot and points of interest underneath the ocean to make it worth exploring. For a game that has so much ocean there isn’t jackshit to do in it. Fricking hell man I’m just going to make my own post apocalyptic game at this point because I’m so sick of Fallout.
>institute has no good reason >preston is a bad character
thats literally it >W-W-WASTED POTENTIAL GUYS
its an enjoyable game with a lot of advancements for the franchise, i dont see the issue
companion and companion personality overhaul, lots of detail into companion acknowledgement of environment, legendary system, modular armor, power armor overhaul and modular system, build your own settlements (very good and involved for survival), fully customizable weapons, complete revamp of animations, improved enemy designs, new enemies are a welcome addition, a new generic enemy faction, etc
>Companion and companion personality overhaul
I wouldn't mention that as an improvement, with the affinity system companions became checking lists instead of their own persons. >Legendary sytem
It trivializes normal weapons and encourages farming which is antithesis to fallout. > Build your own settlements
That's more of a departure on style rather than an improvement, more for people who like crafting and survival not so much for those who want an RPG.
I will concede the rest points. Main problem with modular armor is the ugly as frick artstyle that FO4. Power armor felt like power armor again since the original games tho the fusion core and iron man stuff can be jarring, enemy designs are more a matter of taste, i pesonally don't like supermutants that look like raisins and act like mindless orcs.
i think making your own camp, if not plural, is better than being rewarded some room for doing some communitys bidding and then fast traveling to and from 50 times
especially when you can dress it with settlers that you can customize, even making them be a doctor or make you food
>Institute is an underwritten mess >The Railroad is a moronic faction in concept, even more so when you put them against the brotherhood and the institute >Half of the companions are 2d cardboard cutouts, the other half are 2d cardboard cutuots but with a gimmick. >Voiced protagonist unironically feels less human than the murderhobos of 1 and 2 >Shitty builing system that needs mods in order to be functional. >Weapon customization made guns feel less special rather than the opposite, now add that legendary weapons are the same guns but with a gimmick.
Does Ganker have any tips for a beginner? I recently started playing this and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Everyone on the internet says it's an easy game but I'm constantly running out of ammo and dealing little damage. I've found some legendaries but use pipe guns for the majority of the time because those are the only guns that I find consistent ammo for. Every other weapon type keeps running out of ammo. It's not like I'm wasting my bullets shooting into the air either
>but use pipe guns for the majority of the time
Those guns are weak as piss and only intended for use by enemies so they can't do much damage to you. >Every other weapon type keeps running out of ammo.
So buy it. It's not like you actually need money in the game.
>wasted potential
What potential?
The only thing they improved over previous games are base controls and gun feel, which is hardly an achievement, since FO3 had the shittiest gun combat in any AAA game, and quick loot. While everything else is a downgrade
I still can't believe the writing was so fricking terrible. You'd think they'd learn a thing or two since then but we fricking got Starfield right after.
The writing is so unbelievably fricking bad. Emil needs to be fired ASAP. Imagine if a half competent writer was in charge of the storyline. It could have been fricking cash and could’ve potentially even went up against New Vegas. Even Fallout fricking 3 has better writing and world building compared to 4
I remember when the reveal trailer for 4 first came out, I thought those giant colorful skyscrapers in Boston were supposed to represent the Institute and its control over the Commonwealth, kinda like the Citadel from Half-Life. Would have been way more interesting but instead we just got some generic “le secret underground evil lair” version of the institute instead.
The generic underground evil lair of the institute could've worked if they went full pulp on it like NV's Think Tanks mixed with wolfenstein shit, instead we got a bunch of mumbling and incompetent idiots posing as scientists that seemed ignorant of the chaos they were causing up there.
One thing you have to get through your head is no amount of "potential" could've made FO4 a "good game", there's a reason why TW3 is so much more well-received and some title that belonged to a no-name franchise sold twice as many copies as massively advertised Fallout title did. Even DLCs suck.
I think you meant to post Fallout NV, Bethesda had all the time in the world to make F4 work, you can only imagine how good NV would have been with a more fleshed out House and Legion routes.
more like the studio
What do you mean, it's great. I'm enjoying my first playthrough.

Looks like shit.
Black person just go play STALKER at this point, what the frick is this
but I already played STALKER 100 time, this is a whole new map to explore for me

that just sounds like borderlands, not stalker
Fallout 4 is in reality a Sandbox game posing off as an rpg.
what mod is that? looks cool
lost world with some tweaks
Doesn't even feel like Fallout at that point
you say that like it's a bad thing
It was better than 3 in every conceivable way.
>b-but my parents were still together in 2008...
Don't care. Nostalgia doesn't mean it was good.
I can remember a ton of 3s side quests and hidden locations. I can remember a single side quest from 4

Grow up, kid.

Lol no
3's main quest at least isn't in any rush to get you through it
Can any amount of rewriting untangle the mess of a synth storyline in a post apocalyptic wasteland. Also the town editor was dogshit and dumb
still the best one other than Fallout 76
actually its the opposite. Fallout 4 > 76 > the other ones
>Wasted potential: the video game
That title belongs to Assassin's Creed after they killed off Desmond.

you can turn off your brain and still complete the whole game! isn't that amazing?

>generic
Perfectly describes Fallout 4 tbh
a bunch of absolute horseshit that took you half an hour to type out
troony
Yes you are.
Trans.
Talk about projection. It's your game that has crossdressing and romanceable bisexual companions.
um, anon, which game are we talking about?
It can't be anything but 4.

This, but every gun is dogshit ugly, and some the worst of the designs will live on to infected other fallout projects in the future.
