Rebirth, DLC doesn't win. Its why people want a DLC category, and also a Remake/Remaster category.
BAD? Nah. Not as good as alot of the recent ones. Now the main story, yeah its unironically maybe the worst in Yakuza main series. If you play Gaiden, then Infinite Wealth, you would have expected some characters to have been lobotomized from how different and stupid they are
The beginning was okay to good, the mid point was alright, the end was shit.
And after coming off of gaiden which had possibly the best ending of any yakuza game, it left a very bad taste in my mouth despite how much I loved 7.
It's not a bad game, but it also left on a very haha story isn't finished buy the next game. SO it felt like a filler episode.

I want to try the game since it's up there for goty consideration but I spent 100 hours on rebirths story and I don't know if I can handle another long ass game this year, especially when I haven't played the other ones.
It was literally make no sense if you haven't played at least 7. But honestly you need to have played 0-7 + gaiden for the story to make sense. You even need to play judgement 1 and 2 as there are some characters from that, that show up as relevant characters as well.
