Original devs went indie and made Grim Dawn after the new THQ agreed to let them use the original TQ engine, they are currently still releasing updates for Grim Dawn and developing Farthest Frontier

NEW THQ is an austrian publisher formerly know as Nordic which bought the leftover ips, along with some other old and forgotten ips from other companies AND the rights to the THQ brand, have been releasing cheap but functional remasters (read: updates) for the last several years, and in the case of TQ, actual new content via another dev unrelated to OG TQ devs.

TQ was the only Diabloclone which nailed the aesthetics and it didn't even try to be grim fantasy. That's it. I remember playing it back in the day and being frustrated for how derivative and safe it was. Later I discovered MedianXL (the early versions) and it blew my mind.
