>Favorite Hack
Cutthroat Coast is one level, but it's a really good Banjo-Kazooie world.
>Currently Playing
No clue, I might need some recommendations. I usually only try to play hacks when they're 100% complete.
>Most Hacks
I've played a ton of Mario 64 and Super Mario World hacks just because of the sheer amount of them.
>If you make ROM hacks
I wish.
Might I recommend SM64 Cursed Castles if you haven't played it already.
Why does the lighting always look so weird in these SM64 hacks? Everything looks too washed out and evenly lit.
Lighting a 3D scene is a whole art unto itself. Much easier to just flood the whole area evenly than actually try to do a good job.
Doubt this one looks any better lighting wise, but it's got neat visuals.
Currently playing Metroid Rogue Dawn. It's fricking amazing considering the base game but they didn't do themselves any favors with the sloped terrain, feels pretty janky a lof of times.
Sounds like a first attempt at sloped terrain in a ROM hack. It will be patched eventually
>Working on it...
The teams been super slow but progress is looking good. It's currently going under Space Complex/Void Station. We ran into a snag when Dread came out as we actually conceptualized some similar details (like meeting back up with the chozo) along with some other plot points like the federation hunting you down and the X becoming a much more prominent threat after all Metroid's were erased leaving Samus with the last of the Metroid's DNA. Most of that went out the window, and were still re-pitching idea's.
>the spy who loved me
>hack received an update
>11 stages instead of 4!
>gotcha_bitch.webp
>only graslu got to play it
>and everyone had to watch knowing that they're stuck with last year's preview
eceleb homosexualry and it's consequences have been a disaster for gaming
Qrd?
Brutal mario is perhaps my most liked hack. It saddens me to no end to see that the creator is likely dead and that the hack will never be finished
I'm not playing anything right now
I like mario world hacks
I never played any RomHacks. Do exist any of Perfect Dark or Mario Kart for N64?
None that I've heard of for Perfect Dark, but there is a quality ROM hack of Mario Kart 64 called Amped Up and with new tracks, new features and improved gameplay. The rubberbanding also got toned down a bit so you don't get fricked over when the CPU speeds off like Sonic the Hedgehog after Taco Bell. You will need the Parallel Launcher emulator for it to work though. Project64 crashes trying to run it.
>hacks
>perfect dark
you know what gets me funny is that there have been more romhacks of goldeneye than perfect dark despite the opportunity being available for a decade, now.
says a lot.
I feel like it's the more popular the game, the more ROM hacks get made for it.
even more of a riot that the features from perfect dark get ported to a goldeneye hack
>footsteps
>guard voice dialogue
>dynamic lighting events
just take a look at Pheonarx's "Yet to Come" mission pack.
Currently playing Zelda LttP Randomizer and having the most fun playing a video game in years.
The LttP, Super Metroid & LttP X Super Metroid Crossover randomizers have a lot of optional sprites. I believe they were made with SpriteSomething and embedded into the randomizers as .zspr files, but I can't find them as separate files. Are these supposed to be in the GitHub source for the randomizers or for something else?
Been playing a LOT of Sonic rom hacks lately. Classic Heroes, Advanced Edit, and Bunnie Rabbot were particularly fun and had me replaying them. It still surprises me how sonic fans can channel their autism to create some truly amazing little projects.
Yeah, Sonic fan games in general are really impressive to me. Sonic Robo Blast 2 is amazing.
