The problem with From's writing style is that just like a magic trick it stops working if you keep doing it, the magic of the mystery fades away and you realize that having vague lore and characters speaking in riddles is an efficent way to hide reused and rearanged content

It's not exactly like that. Imagine lil zoom who posts on social media all day, sees people hyped for elden ring dlc. He gets the game, somehow gets to mohg, gets someone to kill it for him. He goes into the dlc expecting to have a ton of fun and be part of the hype, gets stomped, can't do anything. It also doesn’t help that the story is delivered in the most uninteresting, laziest way, dispensed by npcs that don’t move their mouths or emote in any way that isn’t a stock idle animation. Like a quarter of the fricking Bloodborne NPCs talk to you from behind a closed door. This shit’s worse than a Bethesda game zooming in to a character’s face.

in souls games, the world is broken, left in chaos and anarchy
in this madness, individuals create their own rules, cultures, and stories
imagine if the entire world got nuked, and in the remaining rubble, people who used to be normies who blindly trusted the government, all end up creating their own communities with their own traditions
then, some new guy comes along and challenges the leaders of all of these communities
it's like how in highschool, a class with 200 people will end up forming cliques and social circles, isolating each group into their own communities
even though they're all the same class, they all have different stories to tell, based on the cliques they're in
in the souls games, each random zanzibarto noname weirdo is actually basically the chad of his own clique that formed in the chaos of a world with no central ruler
