In P5 it was HEAVILY implied/explicitly obvious that Kamoshida was sexually abusing students, P5 toned it right down as if he was just slapping them around a bit. Also Ryuji never got fricked in the ass by gays, those are the two major things but there were minor adjustments as well. Basically anything that would trigger your average western LBGTQ zoomer was completely changed. How the persona series has fallen
I'm replaying the English version of P5R right now and Kamoshida's sexual harassment is specifically brought up several times. References to prostitution/rape in Kaneshiro's arc are intact as well.

>spoonfeed me >wahhh 70 hours
Watch a playthrough on 2x speed and it'll take you less than an hour to compare the differences before you even get past the first palace, you mouth breathing waste of space
I almost certainly will. Im curious to play with what I assume will be a lot of modern features. P3 was good but its annoying to go back to the original version with how much things improved with 4 and 5.
It won't flop. Persona is slop now and the pigs love coming to the trough and eating their slop. So they will and you can not buy it, but it wont matter because you should read Animal Farm by George Orwell and it will explain everything.
>Hey cool, this is an interesting take on the jrpg genre, and it's not super well known and fleshed out as a fun experience! >Wow Persona 3 FES is so good! >Wow Persona 4 (PS2) is so good! >Wow Persona 5 is passable! >Frick me, I hope the series dies.
pretty much my experience
a game thats full of tedious bullshit in between moments of greatness. if p5 gets to be the greatest at anything, it's the song that plays when the final boss is bound to be defeated.
really good moment. tied with ttyd's https://youtu.be/UItpDo5BCnc. they both take top 1 musical swell for the narrative trope in question.
Futaba's Palace is among the worst, the music is AWFUL and grating beyond belief and it doesn't even feel like you're thieving anything, it's just a generic JRPG dungeon, I'm shocked it's seen as anything beyond mediocre.
Castle > Gallery > Casino (would be higher without that shit in the middle) > Ship > Spaceport > Bank > Tomb
Good fricking lord the tomb is absolutely abysmal and it's made all the worse because you're told exactly how much bullshit you're going to have to go through because they made you climb the fricking thing first. Such a stupid design flaw.
I'm shocked how visually boring the Bank and Tomb levels are, like seriously, how the FRICK can you make a bank heist and tomb raiding level look so fricking DULL? Especially after Madarame's.
>how the FRICK can you make a bank heist and tomb raiding level look so fricking DULL?
For me, it was the overuse of boring gimmicks. Both had one or two ideas that they rammed down your throat for a couple of hours.
>Especially after Madarame's
I definitely have a newfound appreciation for this one after playing it again. Madarame may not be a very menacing villain, but he makes a kino palace.
I thought every single one was terrible besides the music and felt like padding. I loved the fights but doing mundane shit like finding the VIPs on the ship or getting through the rigged casino games bit is just so fricking boring
I thought I guessed the twist by the Futaba palace. Thought it was going to play out like this >Turns out the interrogation of Joker is in Sae's palace >They pulled her in to her own palace to reveal the truth much like Futaba figured out the truth from her own shadow >Reveal that there's something else at play and Sae joins up to stop the Black Mask fella
I didn't expect the actual twist to be as convoluted as it was. It took me a good five minutes to understand it ngl
What I thought WAS refreshing was how the entire time Akechi was with the party I was thinking "homie he's the bad guy!" and then it turns out that it was just Jokers recollection of what happened due to the drugs fricking him up, and they actually had a plan the entire time for dealing with him. Was a nice bait and switch.
How did they tone down kamoshida exactly? I remember playing the original and being so annoyed they never outright said it and pussyfooted around it so much. How could they possibly have made that worse? And Ryuji gets fricked in the ass?!?!?!? Sourc?E?E???!?!!
>And Ryuji gets fricked in the ass?!?!?!?
Kek it's a meme. In the original scene in Kanjuku he runs in to the gay guys and they hit on him explicitly. In Royal they want to dress him in Drag like Lala
Persona 1 and 2 are good and I'm mad that Fatlus didn't port them like they did for P3, 4, and 5. That's why I don't care for anything like the P3 remake or p6, they heavily disrespect the origins of this series and it pisses me off so much I can't continue to care for it anymore. Frick me, frick Atlus, frick p3 remake, frick SMTV, and frick soul hackers 2
I hate nuAtlus so much
P2 would be good if it was remade so the story actually hung together rather than randomly playing out in stops and starts like a fever dream, with characters frequently randomly doing shit because it makes a freaky plot happen rather than actually being characters.
Well some of that is because the game is split between 2 games, which is the biggest flaw since it's not cohesive without you playing both. I think it's a valid criticism, but I still like that it's not atypical in that regard.
I hate how people pretend how smt is not a super niche franchise, like it's ok if you like the old games and i for one love them but lets be real you kinda have to be a turbo autist masochist to like them, i love nuatlus for what it's worth, it's a combination of the new and old atlus, just look at people complaining about soul hackers 2 having repetitive levels like its not the way 90% of atlus games are.
>I hate how people pretend how smt is not a super niche franchise
Megami Tensei maybe. SMTA has been mainstream since IV, which retroactively made SJ, Nocturne and other spinoffs much more popular to the point most people who play persona have played at the very least one of these games.
Makoto's ass is so fat you could easily slip in a aphrodisiac suppository without her noticing. Then she'd start wondering why she's getting so horny and why her ass is begging for a wiener in it
Best to worst imo, if I included the Megaten games I've played I'd put DDS doulogy in front, SJR after P3P, Nocturne before P1, SMT IV would likely go after P2+P2.5,
I can explain everything too. I value the narrative quite heavily and Persona 4 which is likely why the ire is given is so low because it finds a way to be the most awful Megaten game in narrative structure and quite literally is a Saturday morning cartoon. Shit on P5 for being P5 but P4 literally has a flow chart of >Meet new character >See siloette of new character on TV >Yada yada quirky filler >Go into dungeon, make it to the boss >"No I'm not you!" word for word btw >Do boss >"Maybe you are an awful embellishment of me" >Quirky teehee shit >repeat
only to be broken up half way through the game with the Rise subversion straight into Teddy's moronic fight. whom is superior to Morgana considering Mona's moronic run away arc.Adachi was a shit villain and painfully obvious. Also the one actual moment worth a frick in P4 Nanako dying gets undone after a fricking 10 minute dialog bit with the moron in the other room. Which is a shame because if they committed regardless of what you did it would carry so much weight and make beating the game feel somewhat satisfactory. I like P3P the most since The Answer is even worse than P4's story and practically attempts to undo the fricking themes of P3 or ignore the fact that it happened to begin with, plus you can control party members in P3P natively. The FeMC route is for troons or straight shota chads and I have 0 interest in defending what isn't canon for the most part.

I didn't like it because Atlus has proven to me multiple times it can weave an interesting story that is compelling and worth exploring despite 1/2 their games being structured the same as Law, Chaos, frick all demons.
>It's too happy and colorful for me.
You are proving him right.
It isn't that it is too happy. P4D is quite literally a boogie wonderland where they defeat Mikuratana-no-Kami by busting a fricking move and I rated that much higher than P4/G. It tries to tonally be too many things at once. You can't be a quirky sitcom and serious murder mystery without damaging the effect of one of those. P4 isn't a total shitshow it is an improvement over P3 in everyway outside the story. Hell there is actual dungeon designs that look somewhat different and the world is much more integrated into the plot given the murder mystery where it merely existed to exist for P3. The OST of every Atlus game is either a 9 or 10 imo so that isn't even something to comment on as P4/G is no different in that regard.

the first games are a continuous trilogy and should be played in order. 2 is split into two games: Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment. play the PSP versions. you'll need a fan translation for EP.
3/4/5 are unique enough to be considered a separate series from the first ones and 3 was where the Persona franchise truly separates from SMT. you can play 3/4/5 in any order and you will only miss out on very small references to past characters. they're all good in different ways, although 5 definitely has the smoothest gameplay. FES is the definitive edition of 3, and is the only modern one that isn't on steam, you can emulate on PC or PS3. P3P is a port that loses crucial content but it does have some extra content in the form of a female protagonist route to make it worth a playthough. there's also a remake coming out that looks like shit. Golden is the version of 4 with the most content, but there are a few visual downgrades and some controversial lore/characters that make some purists prefer the original. both are ultimately fine. Royal is the version of 5 with the most content and there is little reason to prefer the original now. all versions of Royal save the PS4 are censored, which can be undone via mods.
Arena/Ultimax is a spinoff fighting game series that acts as sequels to 3 and 4. Ultimax was re-released with all dlc including Arena's story mode.
Dancing All Night is a rhythm game sequel to 4. Dancing Star Night and Moon Night are similar games based on 3 and 5 with virtually no story.
Strikers is a questionably canon sequel to 5 with some fun musou combat.
Q and Q2 are games based on Etrian Odessey with the 3/4 and 3/4/5 casts respectively. completely skippable but kinda fun.
Tactica is a newly released 5 sequel that nobody seems to care about.
Catherine is a non-franchise puzzle/VN game made by the 3/4/5 team and is more adult, it has a controversial re-release with extra content called Full Body that is PS exclusive.
Where have you been? I've been search all along.
Why the frick was royal so censored
What was censored?
Ryuji didn't get fricked in the ass
Wait what
You don't remember him getting raped?
Actually no, what the frick.
Nothing new then, thats just standard for 40 years now in Japanese game translations
But the Japanese is the exact same in Royal
I'm replaying the English version of P5R right now and Kamoshida's sexual harassment is specifically brought up several times. References to prostitution/rape in Kaneshiro's arc are intact as well.

I liked the fake 2chan posts. They were soulful. I would actually read those over the chitchat in these screens
They sounded nothing like real people.
>It is false justice
Nobody talks like that.
You can say that about the whole game
There was literally threads on release with anons seriously written up the same sentences in the game and been called out.
some of them are indeed youtube comments tier, truly realistic
4 is better
Probably. I don't have high expectations for P6.
JRPG antagonists peaked in Royal.
JRPG antagonists peaked like 20 years ago
Shhhh Personababies think jrpgs started with Persona
Kefka is no better than The Batman Who Laughs lmao
Anyone else just not gonna buy the P3 remake?
I think the PS2 version plays just fine.
I almost certainly will. Im curious to play with what I assume will be a lot of modern features. P3 was good but its annoying to go back to the original version with how much things improved with 4 and 5.
Persona games are simply not replayable to me so no Im not touching it
I want P3R to flop since I know the homosexuals at Atlus are already hoping that its success will lead to a P4 remake.
It won't flop. Persona is slop now and the pigs love coming to the trough and eating their slop. So they will and you can not buy it, but it wont matter because you should read Animal Farm by George Orwell and it will explain everything.

P4 did it better
Is it just me or did the Palaces kind of get worse as they went on? I knew that things were off during the Kaneshiro palace
It's a steady decline with the exception of the Casino then it picks back up with the final one.
Eh, you could argue that it slumps in the middle but the casino/ship/cognitive lab were all pretty great imo.
The pyramid dungeon get carried really hard by the kino music.
Futaba's Palace is among the worst, the music is AWFUL and grating beyond belief and it doesn't even feel like you're thieving anything, it's just a generic JRPG dungeon, I'm shocked it's seen as anything beyond mediocre.

Futaba's was eh and Haru's was shit but otherwise its bretty good

yes dude, so right. hitler was such an epic reference in persona 2, such utter kino.

It's a visual novel with amazing dungeon crawling and you can fuse pokemons.

What games from this series are worth playing
Play them like this:
Persona 3 FEES > Persona 4 Golden > Persona 5 Royal > Persona 1 > Persona 2.
