It's possible Nintendo ordered the manufacture of sticks featuring the same finely-graded actuation zones as the original controllers' cup-and-bowl/gear-arm-and-encoder-wheel arrangement (important for, eg., allowing all the different acceleration speeds when handling Mario in SM64), but you're right they'll probably use off-the-rack parts that employ wiper/track potentiometers for measuring position like every other modern stick.
But I can hold out hope. If they match the original's performance somehow, and someone like 8bitdo or mayflash comes along to (finally) make a universal bluetooth receiver for N64 controller ports, frick it, I don't care how phoned in this service is- I'll sub for a month just to get my hands on 4x new OEM N64 controllers (the modern alternatives like the brawler and retrobit tribute suck dick, and even a raphnet adapter with an OEM GameCube fails the SM64 acceleration test).
It wont happen. Also I own a PAL Switch so I'm especially biased against this service because frick this
