remake has a better animation, original controls better overall though. has that mikami snappiness and attention to detail. new one is going to have more bells and whistles and less anime action timing in its animations and feel heavier and chunkier, so to a lot of people it will feel more impactful, also the fx is a nice touch. colors look like shit in the new one though

What's the issue? If anything the neck snap looks more realistic
the main issue with the rem4ke animation is that, as soon as it starts, the entire world turns 180 degrees for no reason. By the time it ends, your player character is in a completely different position than he started in, and the entire animation is also very slow and it takes an extra second at the end just to have H.U.N.K. spaz his hands around. Compare it to the original, where the entire course of the animation is smooth and logical, the progression of the movement is completely natural, your character actually ends up in a logical place proportional to where he starts.

It's a major frick up. Everything moves crisply and responsively in OG and the game is balanced well around it. Everything in RE4 feels like sludge and your weapons feel like peashooters that can't even interrupt enemies half the time.
Quickturn is on by default and mapped to the run button so you can't even make use of the multidirectional running to retreat without having to frick with the options

the main issue with the rem4ke animation is that, as soon as it starts, the entire world turns 180 degrees for no reason. By the time it ends, your player character is in a completely different position than he started in, and the entire animation is also very slow and it takes an extra second at the end just to have H.U.N.K. spaz his hands around. Compare it to the original, where the entire course of the animation is smooth and logical, the progression of the movement is completely natural, your character actually ends up in a logical place proportional to where he starts.
