yes, HK got far more popular over time because it started with basically no marketing and had continuous updates
how is hollow knight's graph so consistent?
the game literally never stops selling
the sheer natural marketing through people talking about the game and the silksong meme is strong, the game is cheap, the game has a long playtime and its the easiest indie game for a random dude that doesnt play many games to find in the genre. So it just keeps selling and selling
>it started with basically no marketing and had continuous updates
That could very well be true for nine sols aswell you moron
Both had kickstarter campaigns, so there was some baseline interest and "marketing" on that front. Of course, it's hard to say how much a kickstarter campaign helps with actual sales multiple years down the line.
It's crazy how much worse these threads got once the game was cracked.
>it's hard to say how much a kickstarter campaign helps with actual sales multiple years down the line.
sometimes kickstarters fail but the game gets popular anyway. There Is No Game is a good example, the kickstarter completely failed because of lack of exposure but the sequel still managed to get a lot of sales

Yeah, it can vary. I imagine the sooner a game comes out after kickstarter, the better it does for the game's initial sales.
hollow knight is that low wtf? I mean it is not that special, but still the way some ppl talk about it i thought it had like 100k sales, but its basically just double of ninesols now.
I like nine sol's so far, like all the taoism shit I don't understand, neat to see.
That's not total sales, that's players peak playing at the same time, plus have to remember its on console, I played hollow knight on the driftingswitch and I can't see why it wouldn't be on the sexbox and nogames station.
Hollow Knight had better world design, atmosphere, lore and artstyle but the animations and the gameplay were much better in Nine Sols it's not even debatable.
I didn't care for Hollow Knight's story or lore as much as I did for Nine Sols. Not that Hollow Knight doesn't have neat stuff, but the actual story happening over the course of the game is less interesting than the stuff that had already happened, so you're kind of removed from the overall picture.
You'll like this game if you are: >a masochist who likes to feel sense of accomplishment after beating another bullshit boss >a person who is interested in oriental mythos and likes looking for parallels between this game and chinese philosophy >a pederast
If you are not interested in any of these things, then this game is not for you
I'm scratching my head where the narrative that this game is hard or bullshit comes from. Played on standard and never once failed to pick up my fruitstain. No boss took more than like 20 tries and most went down in 1-3 tries. It also has opt in at any time baby mode. What is most bizarre is I'm not even "great" at these games. I've never completed pantheon 5 in HK because the grind to learn the fights isn't worth it for me. Hell I've never even beaten NKG but I beat nine sols without too much fuss. Bizarre.
I agree. Of course most bosses will kick your ass the first time while you learn what their patterns are, but once you get it you can parry most of their stuff and beat them with no issue.
I don't understand exactly how the parry gauges a perfect parry and a "failed" parry. Is it the smear animation frame, or is it right before the attack begins? I'm gonna try it again later but I can't beat the first real boss at the power plant yet because I die in one hit due to all the internal damage. I haven't played any 2D platformers like this before.
>I die in one hit due to all the internal damage
???
I'm pretty sure you can get hit like 3 times before going down on the first boss on standard mode.
I'm guessing the other anon is only getting imperfect parries and winds up having 1hp, due to not having enough time to heal or let the internal damage recover naturally.
It can take some time to get used to parries, at least on bosses where they're more prominent.
Why nine sols is good: actual conversation starter edition >furry art supremacy
Forged by 1000s of degenerate commissions the artists are familiar with a much broader range of visual styles: kawaii, fetish, horror, and gore. There's a lot more breadth of artistic style than you would typically find in a game >(optional) frequent characterization
Fromsoft take note here. Nine sols has a frickton of slice of life vignettes with the main cast IF you care to opt in and view them all. The game doesn't force you to interact with its cast but if you want to there are a ton of small character development moments to experience >simple but satisfying combat
Like it says on the tin. 1 button parry. 1 button dodge. 1 button attack. 1 button super. Unique dash attack. It's super simple but also very fluid and face paced combat. Honestly feels a lot like dead cells. >jade system
Simple modifier layer over the combat. Nothing earth shattering but meaningfully impacts playstyle >Story is presented en media res
Does a great job showing what is going on while not explicitly telling you what is going on. You'll have to fill in the blanks but the blanks are not very nebulous and most are obvious. You still get the sensation of piecing together the story. >even the enemies have characterization
Each of the titular 9 sols has characterization and themes which flesh out their personalities and their contributions to the story. No zanzibarts here.
Things that could be improved: >music is forgettable
art supremacy >Forged by 1000s of degenerate commissions the artists are familiar with
Stopped reading right there. I don't see why you'd consider this a positive for anyone but degenerate furgays.
This bossfight was so fricking good.
Also how come there are more people who got the achievement for beating her than there are people who beat the muscular demon dude in the gene editing pod? Can you choose the order?
It looks great in stills but ends up flat in motion. There's not much depth variance or animation to the assets so they look like paper cutouts most of the time when the screen is scrolling. Reminds me of Flash games.
>Grotto of Scriptures >seems to be inspired by Taoist imagery and stuff >background music is mongolian throat singing >which as far as I know those two have no relationship whatsoever
Don't get wrong, this track is one of the few that manages to stand out and be somewhat memorable, at least for me I have yet to explore the twins' area and obviously I haven't fought the final boss so maybe there are some banger tracks I haven't heard yet(?)
What are you talking about? Game was cracked and torrent links for nine sols were posted in the threads since day 1.

>Game was cracked and torrent links for nine sols were posted in the threads since day 1.
maybe that's the point? maybe only marketers with pre-release version of the game discussed it before the day 1 crack was released?
The funny thing is that the developers forgot to send out copies to reviewers and the like in time before release, which is why it took a moment for those to start appearing.
It probably would've made some semblance of sense that you're forced to weaken him somehow, but getting sent back to the fun dungeon probably would've been a bit much.
I've beaten Jiequan with and without it. Its effect is honestly negligible, J's attacks are exactly the same and will kill you just as fast. Extra half-second between his combos won't help you if you can't parry.
his coughing shit gives very generous opportunities to hit him
though the poison is very gay, i thought it was supposed to cancel all his genetic shit and it did nothing of that
fair enough, it just kinda struck me as the kinda thing that would've been traced from some zoomer twitter/tiktok meme or something i didn't know about. no offense or anything.
Lines spoken by a mere ant who will never reach the apex. You have lost your ambition and aspirations to shitposting in Ganker, what dao is there left to cultivate?
Hollow Knight I find has a better world to explore, but its gameplay is pretty simple as far as metroidvanias go. However, it makes for an excellent game for randomizers, due to its world being a bit more open for sequence breaks and the like.
Nine Sols has a more specialized, but focused combat system that I liked, while also having its story more in the center.
So, I guess the comparison I'd make is that one is like Metroid Zero Mission, while the other is more Metroid Fusion. Both good games in their own rights, but one might prefer one over the other.
>apemen anywhere else are used for food, turned into bio-robot guards, probably used for torture 24/7 in some areas >apemen in goumaug's sector just worked for food as slaves, worst thing being either being added to the fertilizer only after they died
thinking all the goumaug hate needs to die down
>get the twirl jump on green spot move >go to new path, there's a boss >he's already doing those stupid fricking delayed attacks
that's how i can already tell this is a shit game.
just some red homosexual elite. the boss isn't the point. The point is the delayed attacks. It's a moronic system of fake difficulty that takes away reaction time in favor of just knowing what the boss is going to do and i fricking hate it enough to drop any game that does it.
>Actually reading about and watching videos on Taoism to try to better understand what in the actual FRICK these cats are talking about half the time
I miss the time when only Japan had a monopoly on all the cool media coming out of east Asia so I only had to worry about understanding the basics of Shinto and Buddhism, I hate having to learn about other cultures but I hate being left out of the loop because of cultural barriers even more
taoism is kinda cool after reading up on it. solarians just needed to not frick with life itself and just accept life and death when it happens. just eigong and yi really
>Caring about TaoSHIT
lol thank god that Asians dropped their moronic, failed philosophies/religions >Commies curb stomping Taoism n Buddhism >Japan bulldozing shi(t)nto shrines in Meiji era
At its core taoism is mastery of the self (often through martial arts) and harnessing chi through this mastery to perform magical kung-fu bullshit. It's like jedi with the force, but with less focus on a moral compass for how people use it. A martial artist of any level is implicitly someone who cultivates this power, and it essentially makes you a different class of person in these types of stories, regardless of your social standing.
homie Taoism, Shinto, and Buddhism all mixed to some degree.
It's also annoying that people think you need to get deep into this yin/yang hun/po stuff to understand Asian game lore because no one ever says you need to learn about medieval feudalism and Christianity for Witcher/Elder Scrolls lore to make sense.
>Leeching off bygone glory to fuel our brilliance. >We are survivors. >Our feverish flames have failed to forge hope, inflicting blistering pain with each searing embrace. >We are martyrs. >Right and wrong fade away in the twilight. >No one's at fault, for we are only Sols.
It didn't hit me in the moment when I first reached this scene, but upon reflection, jesus.
Well, the leeching part is kind of on the tin: they're taking the resources of what was a peaceful era, to further their goals. Eigong specifically was trying to find immortality, but winds up basically destroying her whole species, while still continuing that research with all the resources she and the council was given. Survivors: They're survivors in a bleak situation, where there are no real winners for Solarians. Forging hope: Despite their efforts, they failed to solve what they set out to do on New Kunlun, effectively leaving their species doomed. The martyrs bit can be kind of inferred to mean about how the Sols are the ones who don't get to sleep in soulscape until cure is found. They dip in and out of soulscape, but not for 500 years like the regular solarians. Right or wrong: They do absolutely heinous shit within New Kunlun, the whole Eternal Cauldron project in an of itself involved capturing and enslaving apemen. No one is at fault, except Eigong is the root evil behind it all.
The whole chant was probably kind of a thing they did publicly, so to try calming the panicked masses before New Kunlun lifted off from Penglai, but when you dig into it, it's all bullshit, ending up with a fantastic lie.
I'm a brainlet, could you elaborate what you were you able to extrapolate out of this?
The full version has a few more lines btw
We are Sols. Outshining all species, never to be extinguished. Leeching off bygone glory to fuel our brilliance. We are survivors. Our feverish flames have failed to forge hope, inflicting blistering pain with each searing embrace. We are martyrs. Working in vain, painting our colors across the sky over and over again. Probing and feeling. Night descends, and our light is already faded. Right and wrong fade away in the twilight. The sky is getting dark. No one's at fault, for we are only Sols.
I see it as Yi reflecting on his motivations. Eigong failed to find a cure and Eternal Cauldron Project ended up being no more than death throes of a fading civilization. One could blame Sols for failing to save the world, but there's a possibility that they never had a chance to begin with, in a way making them victims of circumstance. Yi feels justified in going after council memebers because, even though they did try to save world, they went about it in unethical way. But none of that will matter if all Solarians die, and slaying Sols (other than Eigong i guess) will likely only make the situation worse. However, painting them as villains lets Yi dress up his vengence as some heroic quest.
its for the special red attacks and works for em perfectly like jiequans flame spawn. i hated the jump counter for red more. Boundless counter was easy to use.
it has gay ass charging that's not fun to deal with to begin and is not removable by a jade like the jade for charge attack for who knows what reason
now add that red attacks are everything from near instant slams like ethereal's downward red slam to something that takes a fricking century to execute like those archer Black folk laser beams and you get a whole additional level of frick this shit
The only time I really hate the archers or the red turrets is when they stick you in a confined space with them and a regular enemy that won't let you stand still long enough to prep an unbound.

The game kind of has this issue that I have with some games that the combat works great with single foes, but with multiple regular enemies it gets annoyingly tough sometimes
>and is not removable by a jade
FRICKING THIS
I can deal with it now, but when I just got it I kept getting fricked over by holding the parry button just a little too long, making me freeze in place until the animation was done.
I still can't get over Eigong's moronic hotboxes.
You're in the air? No, you just hit an invisible hitbox and are now teleported into her hands.
You dashed through a slash attack? No, you just hit an invisible hitbox and got hit anyway.
Dash through an AoE attack? No, sorry, you dashed the wrong way and now you get hit despite clearly not touching anything.
>thanks to the serum >im-fricking-plying i'd ever use underhanded tricks like that to defeat my enemies
Besides, Jiequan gave you like a full second to prepare, had only like two red attacks, both of which had very consistent timings and visual hitboxes.
>Because I can? The unbounded parry sucks dick to use.
Hahahaha every fricking time. I bet you thought Fuxi and Nuwa were hard
>I bet you thought Fuxi and Nuwa were hard
Their fight was hard, but doable. Hoping for good rng on the second phase was pretty annoying, though.
>Why would you dash through a slash attack? Parry it
In what time window? There's like 200 milliseconds between that and her previous attack. >Why would you dodge her AOE?
Because I can? The unbounded parry sucks dick to use.
You may or may not have noticed throughout the game that the talisman is really generous. You can land one even if you're not even really touching the enemy but just kinda "close enough." Well hers are no different.
I'm not sure if you're just funposting or actually believe the horseshit you're spouting.
You may or may not have noticed throughout the game that the talisman is really generous. You can land one even if you're not even really touching the enemy but just kinda "close enough." Well hers are no different.
Her hitboxes are bullshit, I agree. Several times I tried dashing past certain attacks and while it looks like I cleared it, Yi will get hit behind her, or if it's the talisman attack, you'll see him get pulled out of the air or moved to her front to get hit. Several times I air parried into the talisman but somehow it didn't trigger so I get hit instead. I beat all three phases but still the hitboxes can be annoying.
The other anon though is right that you should use unbounded parry on her AoE blast. It's very easy to do and it prevents creating those flames that she then stands in for 10 seconds as you watch. Playing defensively and using full control talisman to deal big damage on the few times you can tag her made the fight a lot easier compared to when I was relentlessly chasing and hitting her.
Here's my Nine Sols OC, Nyx Shadowblade.
She was one of the first Sols of the Council and Eigong's first apprentice, and discovered the Tianhuao conspiracy before everyone else even, and thus was was disfigured by Eigong except unlike Yi she also managed to mortally wound Eigong which is why Eigong had to accelerate her research into immortality.
She's the strongest Solarian because her body combines the Fusang root and the Tianhuao mutation but it's harmless to her, just giving her super strength and regeneration.
She got trained under Lear himself and was the one to design the bomb, but because even Lear was scared of her he put her into stasis. She escapes just in time to drop the bomb so that Yi can get it and escapes New Kunlun before he blows it up.
Honestly she'd have made a better protag I feel
>can only hit him once or twice before he teleports >most of his attacks take out like half your health >those fricking time bombs everywhere >ends up being an endurance fight and I always run out of weed to smoke with a 1/3 of his health still left
Alright give it to me straight, what am I doing wrong here?
I fricking can't man.
It takes five minutes to get a glance at the quadruple slash attack pattern that is neither consistent with its visual or audio cues.
And then you finally make it through that and then you get hit by three red attacks in a row that track you wherever you are.
Not to mention that she changes the side she attacks on INSTANTLY the moment you step a pixel too close.
I think this might be the most difficult video game boss fight I've ever fought.
rewatching the endings, it's very clear that wanted to push the normal ending being worse even if I prefer it. They play a bit of Eigongs theme during it and they purposefully cut off the dialog depicting their current situation. In comparison, you get a boatload more context and the closure with Heng and the humans in general. Kinda wish they were both just different paths instead of the normal ending feeling a bit underwhelming (I love the idea of humanity living on an alien planet while being led by the last surviving alien of said planet), but I think I can finally accept and appreciate the outcome of the true ending after mulling over it for a while
Her red orb leap has a limited range
If you stand too far, the attack won't hit you and she will spawn fire even if you counter properly
You need to figure out the spacing on move-by-move basis
The red fire is particularly fricked if you happen to get caught by her talisman grab. Even if you had the respawn jade equipped, you might just die due to the fire damage ticks.
I was able to beat Isshin in one session, but Eigong took me two. I guess Sekiro makes you engage with the parry system a fair bit more before you wind up at Eigong.
Isshin is easy, he doesn't have moves that teleport, or that exist of two frames while you're vulnerable for ten.
He also has a pattern that's easy to learn, especially with the consistent visual cues he gives when attacking you.
>You get plenty of chances to get a 5 charge bomb off
During phase 2? When? Because she follows up her talisman move with an upper slash after your second orb charge.
Parry, parry, unbound parry.
Or immediately air dash out before she leaps up to catch you with the slashes. Remember that air parry refreshes air dash and double jump.
I'm about 60% convinced that either my controller is acting up or my pirated copy has been sabotaged, because it's almost like I'm playing a different game.
Don't worry, I had my moment of rage and desperation against her during my first dozen attempts, but I buckled down and learned it. She's tough but fair when you get it all down.
This is my 349th attempt and I haven't even come close to beating her second phase. Yes, I have been counting. And yes, I know she has a third phase.

Yes to both, if I feel like I can unbound parry in time.
You are legitimately doing it wrong what the frick. Post an attempt
I'll try to record one.
Are you trying to parry her air slashes? It's better to dodge the reds ones IMO.
What are Jades are you using?
Frick no, I finally have her timing down so I can dodge them, I'm not going to spend another 200 attempts trying to learn how to parry them instead.
I use these jades: >precise parries inflict internal damage >slashes go faster, but cause internal damage & slashes heal internal damage >free revive

FRICKFRICKFRICK I'VE NEVER COME THIS CLOSE
I like the slash attacks because the charge attack leaves you vulnerable too long for my liking.
I won using the stronger charge for 1 stock, less pushback, heal on slash, and damage for perfect parries jades. The stronger charge attack alongside water flow legitimately carried me through that fight, it's unreal damage
I might try out less pushback and water talisman. Full control is nice to get through the first phase quick, but I can never get a five-charge off during the second phase.
You don't need the one that heals internal damage if you're consistent with perfect parrying her attacks, otherwise, solid picks. I'd recommend either having precise parries instantly charge charged slashes (I used this one), or more realistically having your triple combo do more damage if you have Qi charges.
>if you're consistent with perfect parrying her attacks
lol
lmao
I used a similar build, but swapepd fast slashes jade for the bottom left one (convert portion of damage to internal damage).
I found that I often overstepped and got hit when I tried to make most of my slashes.
So instead, I focused on surviving, parrying her attacks and only going for talisman detonations when I had a clear opening.
>convert portion of damage to internal damage
Interesting. I'll definitely give that a few attempts.

Time to sleep, wake up, eat food, go to work, work, go home, eat food and play video games for another three hours.
See you all tomorrow.
I started out using that, but found out that being able to consistently do five orb full control charges did more damage.
But that only goes for the first phase, of course. I'll probably switch back if I use water instead.

You should never get yourself caught by the grab attack. Don't bother using the talisman for it, just bounce off it with a pogo kick for free 2 charges.

As other anon already suggested, try Water Flow. Charging the detonation left you exposed at least a few times in this clip. You can be very aggressive with talisman in phase 1, later she gets a "dash back leaving trail of fire" move that forces you to play safer.
After talisman attack in phase 2, always be ready to parry follow-up slashes (up to two). I prefer air-parrying the talisman instead of applying mine, but I didn't try your method so maybe it's fine.
Initial dash in anime-style delayed triple slash deals no damage, don't panic jump/dash and you'll have easier time parrying the slashes. Afterwards it's guaranteed Water Flow, but watch out for talisman attack.
And learn the timing on quadruple slash. You release the charged parry slightly after flame on her sword goes out, the next 2 slashes come right after and then you want to charge parry the follow-up. In phase 2, it's either final slash (has a long-ish delay), or that triple slash attack, in case of the latter release the parry for the first slash and parry the other 2 normally.

There are two air slash patterns:
hit>hit>crimson drop
and
hit>crimson drop>orb
First one is better to parry all the way through
Second one is better to dodge after first attack and charge up to parry the orb
There's a slight delay before second hit in second pattern, so you can diffirintate between the two by timings.
There are/were some bugs in the game where certain bosses get stuck mid-air upon defeat, which leads to their tao fruit (the flower is mid-air, and so you can't pick it up) or conversations bugging out (character ends up mid-air, so you can't converse with them). The developers have been working on various little bug fixes, pushing patches out every so often.
define "isshin"
there are two isshins and second one is infinitely worse
i haven't yet beat eigong but from all the seethe in these threads eigong seems to be on par with way harder isshin
She should of opened her eyes and realized that one of her colleagues coming back from the dead as well as the entirety of new kunlun going to shit should be more than enough reason to cease all hostilities.
she 100% was given the idea, probably by Eigong, that Yi wanted to frick up the entire project back when he went to confront Eigong 500 years back and seeing him again probably reconfirmed that idea in her head. Plus, I dont think most of the sols know about how bad the situation was. When you first went to the empyrean district, kaufu was completely out of the loop when he calls you about the mutants and overall situation, so I would assume goumong didn't know it had gotten that bad. she was likely just continuing her work blindly.
I will say it again - she pulled a woman moment and got slapped for it (something that needs to start happening irl again)
Having your own dumb shit used against you because you couldn't stop being a b***h for 5 minutes is pure karma
Do you guys think Eigong is evil? She is the only one you don't get to see memories of her past while inside her soulscape. She also did a bunch other awful shit.
Eigong? She, who pursued immortality at the cost destroying her entire civilization? She, who would rather merge everyone into a zombi-fied hivemind rather than accept her failure?
Nah, she was a saint.
It's kinda hard to tell. Sometimes I got vibes she truly was all in on fixing her mistake prior to losing her mind, but other times like in Ji's soulscape where she focuses on the cure being more for immortality than the cure itself. She def needed to get her ass beat, ESPECIALLY for what she does in the true ending after you win, but I do have a little bit of regret about it.
Google Translate says Rather than accept you rotting in Penglai like those who have returned to Taoism, I would rather forget you.
so it's likely that line from one of the flashbacks: I'd rather forget about you than approve of you rotting with the rest of the lunatics on Penglai.
I just got to this part and with Heng's mystic shit being usually true doesn't it mean than solarians will get reborn someday once tao stops being assmad? Their planet is covered with mystic tao plant, it sure can pull off shit like popping reborn solarians back from nodes akin to Yi
i really don't get what you all see in water control, the damage is so piss that it's only good at shutting weak mooks and not like the opportunity to use it is much better than full control
>water
Can apply them in rapid succession, while doing other stuff >control
Highest damage but requires picking the right times >default
Free arrow refreshes to stun any boss on demand
Yeah, but you don't really need to keep a many of them around. With default and full control I always felt like it was a waste to do a one stock talisman explosion.
That's clearly wrong, he's depicted as incredibly quick to learn and talented.
No doubt he'd be better at sex than Yi, who's an asocial sexless nerd, in a matter of hours
>Go back to previous areas to find items I missed >Find a bunch of gifts to Shuanshuan >Little shota learns how to program, craft furniture and grows a giant fish tree in the span of a few days
So how much does the "stuns enemy when applying talisman" jade even affect Eigong? I kept that jade on basically for the whole playthrough, but took it off for Eigong because it seemed to affect her very little.
I don't get one thing. Does the opening cinematic of Eigong killing Yi take place on New Kunlun before it took off to Earth, or after?
One hand I thought that is why Yi never visited Heng for the last time, because he was dead, reincarnating in the roots at that time.
On the other he seems quite familiar with Apemen facilities and how they are processed and on how they have been modified for their purposes. I don't think the project would have worked without him at the early stages of harvesting apemen and making them into datacenters.
Before. He learned that everyone on the council but him knew that Eigong created Tianhuo. Yi was convinced that the general population had the right to know, so Yi started to scamper away from New Kunlun, only to be cut down by Eigong. He then got entangled in the roots, and stayed there for 500 years until Shuanshuan happened to pass by while playing a flute, that reminded Yi of his sister.
So they just new their entire biology and so, by just watching the planet through teelscopes and shit? Well I mean I guess, they have deatsh stars and what not in the ancient times.
>by just watching the planet through teelscopes and shit?
You'd be surprised at how much more we'd be able to see if we built a observatory-sized satellite in space, as opposed to on our planet.
Yes they used the Haotian sphere or whatever to confirm if they were intelligent or not. Then jumped to earth and captured them, brought them onto new kunlun and transmutated them for some unknown reason and released them into the villages
So Gene Eradicator was for Jiequan, that one was pretty obvious and it was also obvious were to use it before the fight
Who are Soul-severing Blade and Firestorm Ring intended for though? their descriptions are not as blatant as Gene Eradicator, at least to me but I'm a brainlet
I only have Ji and and the twins left to fight before Eigong, so I thought that maybe one was for Ji and the other was for the twins
>Still no art of Lady E getting spanked by Yi with a paddle made of chi while she begs for more >No art of Yi in BDSM gear as Lady E's soulscape turns her nightmare into a sex dungeon
Since they did spend like 500 years orbiting the pale blue planet its possible that they could conceive, have it grow up, and surpass their age with vital sanctum shenanigans.
question, what causes the disease to actually end up killing a solarian? just from what I've seen, most people that die to it were usually already old and as seen in the prequel manga, there were instances of it starting to effect hien and they somehow recovered from tianhou instead of dying. couldn't they just frick like rabbits and keep the species alive through persistence?

From what I gathered, tianhuo breaks their dna down and they turn into flowers. So might just be a luck of the draw how quickly it affects any given individual.
Anonymous
yeah i figured. they kept it vague how the disease works outside it's ingrained in their dna, so i think a lil bit of assumption is required. I sorta assumed it slowly, generation by generation, made solarians more prone to genetic defects and diseases that sped up the process of tianhou.
Their kids will just die. Eigong removed the virus gene from a embryo and it created a house cat

Everything that's living dies so that's sort of to be expected.
They were very vauge about how and when the plague kills and if guys like Yanlo who were already old before even catching it can still carry on then who's to say their kids wouldn't fare the same?

The risk is also that the parents may die before the kid is of age, and that could lead to all sorts of collapses in the society. If they effectively had to evacuate from the planet with only one hundred thousand citizens on board, you can expect it to be too deadly of a virus to make a breeding program sustainable.

Indeed, but if that's the sort of drastic measures they had to take, you know shit's kind of fricked.

The virus is incomprehensible. Eigong spent centuries researching it and basically discovered nothing could stop it. They didn’t even figure out the transmission method

be funny if the disease was only accelerating the deaths of people who were against the core values of taoism or until you were old and solarian society were so far gone that it basically looked like it was incurable. would also explain why no form of science could make head or tails of it for literal centuries

I figured the transmission method could be something like the roots themselves. Their society was so build around using them for rhizomatic energy, that they were just screwed.
Honestly? I didn't have the same emotional connection to this game that I have had with others.
I'll probably buy and replay this game in the future and will gain just as much enjoyment out of it when I played it the first time.
its shilled to death here
its not that great
its ok i guess
worse than hollow knight, which i keep seeing shill articles calling this game the "silksong waiting room" so to speak, to tide you over until silksong is out
but its shittier by a strong magnitude
why is it shittier? the art is more polished and detailed, the story is more in-depth and emotional, the gameplay is more complex and challenging. the exploration is worse, and the music is worse, but it's not obviously inferior in the way a "waiting room" would imply. i (and a few other anons in these threads) prefer it.
Might be interesting if it were based off the movie. If they based it more off the comics though it'd be interesting for different reasons. The psychopathy of the characters makes the Goumang scene look like a joke comparatively
Always do the opposite of what Ganker plays. Unless it's >Online FPS they really got into (Ganker Tribes and Dirty Bomb was fun) >Age of Wushu >Freejack
That's about it.
The haters of this game just got filtered, right? I haven't gotten it yet but I'm gonna get it any day now, really excited to play it, shit looks fricking kino
Souls-like fans aren't used to read, especially for lore. They need someone to explain them the story in a video (kind of like zoomers, now that I think about it).
The whole thing that started a lot of people's "Souls" autism was a 90 page analysis of Bloodborne. For whatever shit you wanna hurl at them, they probably spend more time reading every bit of text trying to decipher a deeper meaning and connect the dots more than any other gaming community.
I know people call Sekiro a "rhythm game" which is kinda true, but this game really leans into that aspect (At least early on.). It seems that the distance or attack doesn't really matter for bosses. You just need to know the timing after the "chh" noise for almost everything outside of the crimson attacks and bam, always parry.
Hollow Knight's parries could be a real pain in the ass, but I do hope this isn't the norm.
Nine Sols kind of puts more emphasis on parry, since there are plenty attacks that are harder to outmaneuver. Sure, you can dodge everything with the right timing, but that can be riskier than just learning the parry.
What he's saying is that a lot of enemy attacks barely have animated telegraphs and the game relies entirely on the gimmick of sound and spark tells instead of giving you a readable wind up
Exactly this, yes. It's one of those things where once you notice it, you can't unnotice it and it kills a lot of the challenge the game presents itself with. Would be nice to have an option or mod that disables the "hints". I know some might suggest just not using parrying, but the game is designed around it. I don't want "Elden Ring" levels of bullshit, just for patterns to be less blatant.
Disabling the hints won't make the game better because the hints are the information you need to respond to and without them there is no reactable telegraphing and you would have to memorise the timing of each enemy animation by grinding it out.
The use of sparks and sound cues is not ideal, but it's better than having no reactable information at all.
What if we fed Shennong part of the Tianhou fungal flowers or mutant goo, or Empyrean district's contaminated water? What if he could produce a cure or a medicine that at least helps with the symptoms? Yi should thoroughly and meticulously investigate this.
The fact that they put savepoints quite literally right next to boss encounters is pretty telling of what kind of "challenge" they were going for.
Just beat Lady Ethereal and the feeling was more of "thank God it's over" instead of "I finally did it!"
I would hate to imagine if they didn't have those save points right before bosses, and they did too apparently...
Not that anon, but I didn't have difficulties with her. My only issue was that I dodged the big orb too early, but beat her first try after adjusting my timing.
Yes, "difficulty" is a highly subjective thing, that's why you need to take a step out of your box and compare it objectively to the world around you.
I would say 90% would disagree with your assessment of the game overall being "not difficult", therefore it is objectively a difficult game, and failing to understand this just makes you come off as an egotistical homosexual.
I recognize the game is decently difficult for an average player, but Lady E? She's pretty manageable when you account for the rest of the game.

There's way more too it than that.
You need to have good reaction time.
You need to learn what her relative quick moves do and what you need to do in response.
You need focus and concentration and the muscle memory to react appropriately.
You can make one maybe two mistakes, especially during the 3rd phase, before you are instantly defeated and have to start all over.
There is very little time to adapt dynamically during the fight without banging your head against the wall until it sticks through all 3 phases.
When people like you take your obvious natural skill and talent for granted, it diminishes others accomplishment.
It's a very self centered world view and I'm sure you either don't care or look so far down on others it feeds your ego to know how much better you are than everyone else and take everyone opportunity to prove it.
Be humble, child.
Not that anon, but I didn't have difficulties with her. My only issue was that I dodged the big orb too early, but beat her first try after adjusting my timing.
That was quite the overreaction anon. It's fine if you struggled but maybe that anon figured out a pattern you didn't or something. Sometimes we get caught up in aggravation and don't catch on to things. Vent if you gotta, just don't take it out on people.
If you can't understand why someone would be upset at you taking a nonchalant "oh that was easy" attitude with something a vast majority of people consider otherwise, you need to check yourself.
there's a very wide variance of parrying-skill people are going into this with. some beat eigong in 3-7 attempts, some are still chugging away at >350. hard to know where exactly you fall on the bell curve.
I think the point is the bosses were designed with assumption that you'll likely die over and over (which is true) and that some players don't enjoy that.
I find that design philosophy in general really cheapens the overall experience of a boss fight and overcoming it, but I know it's difficult to strike that perfect balance between making something way too hard or way too easy.
Maybe less "instant death and restart if you frick up once" mechanics.
It's the same reason I hate those pixel-perfect surround by spikes touch of death platformers than we're popular a few years ago.
It eventually just becomes monotonous as you go through the motions to slowly progress to the next "learning" death and rebirth cycles.
>I find that design philosophy in general really cheapens the overall experience of a boss fight and overcoming it, but I know it's difficult to strike that perfect balance between making something way too hard or way too easy. >Maybe less "instant death and restart if you frick up once" mechanics.
I kinda agree. Dying to near-instakill move in phase 3 and having to slog through first two phases just to try again didn't feel right. On the other hand, early phases in Lady Ethereal or Fengs were clearly were meant as tutorials. Splitting the boss fight into two separate encounters could be better, but it might require plot justification (I'm thinking Hornet/Hornet 2 or TMG/NKG in Hollow Knight).
>Lady Ethereal
No AOE piddle on the ground. Extremely generous stun timer when you stick a talisman and her clones vanish while she's stunned. If you're having trouble there's a facet of the fight you just don't understand and that's okay. But once it all clicks she's easy and fun.
>if you die before reaching the second save point you get plopped into a root node sequence that forces you to practice parrying again
I played through the game twice and have watched multiple people playing the game on youtube and I never saw this segment before. I guess good on the designers for anticipating that some people really need to be sat down and made to do drills.
>shitters get to see exclusive content
For once, sucking at video games isn't as bad as I thought. I was wondering how that section would play out for other players.
I really don't understand how some people get into the mindset of >I can't believe everyone finds this so difficult, they must suck!
As opposed to >I can't believe I don't find this difficult, I must be awesome!
Like what happened to you as a child psychologically to make you only react with the first mindset?
Do you hate to admit you are so much better than others in a good way? Do you always have to beat down everyone else for some reason?
I just don't get it. I recognize every one of my talents and never disparage anyone else who doesn't have them, in fact it is my wish to raise them up to my level so we can be awesome together.
I think I kinda suck though. I took a lot of attempts on Lady E but I was just not understanding stuff. After figuring it out I think she's a step down in difficulty from Jiequan because while she does have a single 1hitKO attack it's not too bad to dodge and messing up on other things won't usually get you instakilled and she requires zero use of the unbound counter. But failing to unbound parry on Jie turns the arena into an inferno and can easily lead to cascading failure.
I'm not reading a thread past bump limit, but I'll say I enjoyed both hollow knight and nine sols. Nine sols had better bosses and story, hollow knight had better exploration and was far less linear. I don't know why you people can't just enjoy and like videogames instead of making everything about bullshit contests. Like dude, hollow knight came out a LONG time ago. I need something new to play. Frick off. Chinks cooked something good this time.
>tfw no Mega Man Zero-style spinoff where you play as one of Luyan's elite Fangshi, fighting through Jie clan hordes on various missions alongside Ji to destroy the Death Star--I mean Haotian Sphere
Wonder if any kids played it thinking it's going to make cute cartoon fun
Congrats you fell for the chink shill campain
Well this makes me think it's just one guy spamming the same threads over and over. I'm glad I pirated it
>chinks shill campaign
But the people shilling it were doing so because it's not made by the Chinese, but by Taiwan.
hollow knight at home
Hollow knight if chinese knockoff
Hollow knight if it wasn‘t shit
This. I dropped hollow shit halfway through. Nine sols is 100 times better
It's literally the same game
The difference being nine sols is actually fun
Combat is nothing alike
>hollow shit
>not hollow shite
Fricking Yanks man.
>shite
Did Brites get hite on the head? That would explain ite.
You played Nine Sols 50 times, then?
silksong if its real
>hollow knight
If only. taiwanese subhumans wish nine sols was as good
how is hollow knight's graph so consistent?
Your autopsy report is outdated
Nine Sols had 6.5k concurrent players in less than a week
It took 14 months for HK to reach the same number
>Your autopsy report is outdated
>autopsy report shows data from last week
too old for Japanifornia courts
yes, HK got far more popular over time because it started with basically no marketing and had continuous updates
the game literally never stops selling
the sheer natural marketing through people talking about the game and the silksong meme is strong, the game is cheap, the game has a long playtime and its the easiest indie game for a random dude that doesnt play many games to find in the genre.
Cracked how?
He means the game was cracked, i.e., free to download.
I think the game was cracked and pirated on day 1. It's a single player unity game, so it's not like it's a hard task.
>it's hard to say how much a kickstarter campaign helps with actual sales multiple years down the line.
sometimes kickstarters fail but the game gets popular anyway.
I imagine it didn't become the phenomenon it is today when it launched, but over time, which would explain low playercount record
That's basically what happened. It sold well enough for them to keep up with updates, and the game continued to grow in popularity thanks to them.
I like nine sol's so far, like all the taoism shit I don't understand, neat to see.
That's not total sales, that's players peak playing at the same time, plus have to remember its on console, I played hollow knight on the driftingswitch and I can't see why it wouldn't be on the sexbox and nogames station.
Nine Sols on the other hand isn't on consoles yet, only on PC.
imagine getting mogged this hard by an older game lmao
Hollow Knight had better world design, atmosphere, lore and artstyle but the animations and the gameplay were much better in Nine Sols it's not even debatable.
What about Hollow Knight's lore do you find superior to Nine Sols? I feel like it's got too much Dark Souls vagueness going on.
I didn't care for Hollow Knight's story or lore as much as I did for Nine Sols. Not that Hollow Knight doesn't have neat stuff, but the actual story happening over the course of the game is less interesting than the stuff that had already happened, so you're kind of removed from the overall picture.
I liked how the king's story ties up with the vessels/hollow knight and the reveal of the Radiance at the end. There was just so much depth to it.
Yeah, that's about the best of it, as well as Quirrel's adventures. But that's kind of all far and wide apart.
I think it’s one of the best games ever made
You'll like this game if you are:
>a masochist who likes to feel sense of accomplishment after beating another bullshit boss
>a person who is interested in oriental mythos and likes looking for parallels between this game and chinese philosophy
>a pederast
If you are not interested in any of these things, then this game is not for you
There are no bullshit bosses though?
I'm scratching my head where the narrative that this game is hard or bullshit comes from. Played on standard and never once failed to pick up my fruitstain. No boss took more than like 20 tries and most went down in 1-3 tries. It also has opt in at any time baby mode. What is most bizarre is I'm not even "great" at these games. I've never completed pantheon 5 in HK because the grind to learn the fights isn't worth it for me. Hell I've never even beaten NKG but I beat nine sols without too much fuss. Bizarre.
It’s morons who don’t understand how to do the charge parry.
Parry when it’s about to hit you. The red centaur fricker filtered me at first because it’s parry timings are weird
He’s not parrying the attacks correctly so his entire healthbar is internal damage. Then he misses one and insta dies
So, a gamer?
I just started, seems pretty good to me
Hope you enjoy the rest of the game, anon
Nice.
What a compelling argument
Why nine sols is good: actual conversation starter edition
>furry art supremacy
Forged by 1000s of degenerate commissions the artists are familiar with a much broader range of visual styles: kawaii, fetish, horror, and gore. There's a lot more breadth of artistic style than you would typically find in a game
>(optional) frequent characterization
Fromsoft take note here. Nine sols has a frickton of slice of life vignettes with the main cast IF you care to opt in and view them all. The game doesn't force you to interact with its cast but if you want to there are a ton of small character development moments to experience
>simple but satisfying combat
Like it says on the tin. 1 button parry. 1 button dodge. 1 button attack. 1 button super. Unique dash attack. It's super simple but also very fluid and face paced combat. Honestly feels a lot like dead cells.
>jade system
Simple modifier layer over the combat. Nothing earth shattering but meaningfully impacts playstyle
>Story is presented en media res
Does a great job showing what is going on while not explicitly telling you what is going on. You'll have to fill in the blanks but the blanks are not very nebulous and most are obvious. You still get the sensation of piecing together the story.
>even the enemies have characterization
Each of the titular 9 sols has characterization and themes which flesh out their personalities and their contributions to the story. No zanzibarts here.
Things that could be improved:
>music is forgettable
Wtf are you talking about Last Man Standing and the ending credits's song are bangers
art supremacy
>Forged by 1000s of degenerate commissions the artists are familiar with
Stopped reading right there. I don't see why you'd consider this a positive for anyone but degenerate furgays.
>falling for the safehorny furry game
Are you new here?
It’s good though
May i take a sniff? perhaps two?
This bossfight was so fricking good.
Also how come there are more people who got the achievement for beating her than there are people who beat the muscular demon dude in the gene editing pod? Can you choose the order?
Yea. You can do gaomang and the old dude in any order and you can do the 2 you mentioned in any order
>safehorny
You are new here.
It’s a good game but you shouldn’t play it because I don’t like the idea of gays touching the games I like.
it just looks bad, and its shills are annoying
Game is beautiful though
It looks great in stills but ends up flat in motion. There's not much depth variance or animation to the assets so they look like paper cutouts most of the time when the screen is scrolling. Reminds me of Flash games.
wwyd
It's a decent filler until the Elden Ring DLC releases.
Would have been better with less story and more freedom of exploration. It's alright, a good snack before Grime II or Rabi Ribi 2.
The story is literally the best part
I need to get back to GRIME and maybe one day finish it. I'm only a handful of zones in.
>Grotto of Scriptures
>seems to be inspired by Taoist imagery and stuff
>background music is mongolian throat singing
>which as far as I know those two have no relationship whatsoever
Don't get wrong, this track is one of the few that manages to stand out and be somewhat memorable, at least for me
I have yet to explore the twins' area and obviously I haven't fought the final boss so maybe there are some banger tracks I haven't heard yet(?)
A none furry pls redpill me on this

>Game was cracked and torrent links for nine sols were posted in the threads since day 1.
maybe that's the point? maybe only marketers with pre-release version of the game discussed it before the day 1 crack was released?
The funny thing is that the developers forgot to send out copies to reviewers and the like in time before release, which is why it took a moment for those to start appearing.
Ah yes the marketers who wanted the game to be leaked early and not pay for the privilege

I'm also upset that the artist didn't give him a bulge
>murders millions of apemen to harvest their brains
>gets upset about Goumang creating 2 jiangshi soldiers
What was his fricking problem?
It's okay when he does it
He was a vengeful manlet and even Kuafu calls him out afterwards.
If it isn't obvious he's not a good person anon
He let her live though :^)
It's directly pointed out he was solely acting out of revenge and spite.
More importantly why does she just disappear? Why can't you go back and save her later?
It’s unintentional. She’s still there as Yi blows up the station with the bomb
If you used this, you are objectively a lower calibrç ofeeof gamer than me. I bet you use Master Balls on legendary Pokemon, too.
Jiequan isn’t even hard though
had to do it for the cheevo
i used it without even trying to fight him normally because i figured it would've just been a forced loss and you HAD to use it.
It probably would've made some semblance of sense that you're forced to weaken him somehow, but getting sent back to the fun dungeon probably would've been a bit much.
I just did what Yi would have done.
shota collarbones....
stop lewding him
Yi you must sacrifice yourself and become one with the lewdness if you want Shuanshuan to stay pure
You just want him for yourself Yi.
Solarians are, by nature, evil bastards with no morals
I merely acted in-character
I've beaten Jiequan with and without it. Its effect is honestly negligible, J's attacks are exactly the same and will kill you just as fast. Extra half-second between his combos won't help you if you can't parry.
his coughing shit gives very generous opportunities to hit him
though the poison is very gay, i thought it was supposed to cancel all his genetic shit and it did nothing of that
Penitent One with his newfound pet-cat in the Afterlife.

very curious to know what the original version of this image is, assuming it's traced and isn't just pure OC besides the bench picture.
also ftfy
It was all OC, nothing traced.
I was planning on a riverside for BG, but in the end the pose i made was better fit for a bench.
Also thx for the fix.
fair enough, it just kinda struck me as the kinda thing that would've been traced from some zoomer twitter/tiktok meme or something i didn't know about. no offense or anything.

They're one gene away from regular house cats, so probably.

I can't believe out of all sols that Kuafu is literally me
Hollow Knight I find has a better world to explore, but its gameplay is pretty simple as far as metroidvanias go.
Both good games in their own rights, but one might prefer one over the other.
why the frick can't i interact with her? Is it a bug
Yes. Exit to main menu and go back in
Considering how much of a push over she was I could probably just get away with anything via force.

Probably.

What boss?
just some red homosexual elite. the boss isn't the point. The point is the delayed attacks. It's a moronic system of fake difficulty that takes away reaction time in favor of just knowing what the boss is going to do and i fricking hate it enough to drop any game that does it.
You sound like a moron
you didn't put enough delay on your low effort shit retort.

>Caring about TaoSHIT
lol thank god that Asians dropped their moronic, failed philosophies/religions
>Commies curb stomping Taoism n Buddhism
>Japan bulldozing shi(t)nto shrines in Meiji era
China is the original Japan. This nipponese wankery honestly needs to end.
That china hasn't existed for centuries after getting raped by the mongorians time and time again, and then by themselves in the 20th century.
It was kino
Why isn't Kuafu there?
He's not dead.
Neither is Goumang
This is Yi's subconscious speaking to him. In his mind she's as good as dead.
cuz he's just racist and fat
What's in the bottle?
Fake bubble tea or whatever
i actually have a screen of it for some reason
I can't help but feel bad despite all the fricked up shit they did
I'm a brainlet, could you elaborate what you were you able to extrapolate out of this?
Yeah, the full thing has more lines, but I felt the ones I picked were most damning.
IT'S NO MASTERPIECE
i tried playing it last night, felt like a really good newgrounds flash game from the 2000s
It was alright.
That's an unhinged take, it's nothing like those games.
I've come to find that people have a really rose tinted glasses understanding of what flash games were, or how they looked.
The saddest siblings
Switch port when?
Don't know if the developers have announced planned release dates for consoles.
Is the doll sentient because it's made from Yi's fur?
Why is Ji so gay?
That one guy who was having a shitfit about Eigong in the steam forums beat her and decided it's a great fight actually. Just like me.
YOU CAN'T MATCH MY SPEED, OLD HAG
I thought this game was gritty
Turns out its griddy
It's a great fight, but it can feel like hitting a brick wall when you get to her.
The fight is so fricking good once you understand what the frick is happening
i hated jiequan cuz i didnt use boundless counter, but once i did the fight was amazing. It always is that way with bossfights.
boundless counter sucks ass and should have been just an upgrade
its for the special red attacks and works for em perfectly like jiequans flame spawn. i hated the jump counter for red more.
Ok the archers are bullshit
The only time I really hate the archers or the red turrets is when they stick you in a confined space with them and a regular enemy that won't let you stand still long enough to prep an unbound.
The game kind of has this issue that I have with some games that the combat works great with single foes, but with multiple regular enemies it gets annoyingly tough sometimes
>and is not removable by a jade
FRICKING THIS
I can deal with it now, but when I just got it I kept getting fricked over by holding the parry button just a little too long, making me freeze in place until the animation was done.
Especially cause the ending after you beat her is so damn good
>One guy gives positive reinforcement
>Immediately stops posting
>Wins 5 hours later
why can't I fricking tp between sites
You have to escape Jiequan’s rape dungeon first unfortunately
I still can't get over Eigong's moronic hotboxes.
You're in the air? No, you just hit an invisible hitbox and are now teleported into her hands.
You dashed through a slash attack? No, you just hit an invisible hitbox and got hit anyway.
Dash through an AoE attack? No, sorry, you dashed the wrong way and now you get hit despite clearly not touching anything.
>moron fighting her wrong thinks she’s shit
Many such cases
If I wasn't supposed to do it, then why did it work for the entire game up until this moment?
It's just bad game design, simple as.
epic battle fantasy was the only game that looked decent on therefrom what i remember honestly. Flash games mostly sucked.
Too tall and odd looking
How did u get past jiequan without learning to parry? Did u just get lucky thanks to the serum?
>thanks to the serum
>im-fricking-plying i'd ever use underhanded tricks like that to defeat my enemies
Besides, Jiequan gave you like a full second to prepare, had only like two red attacks, both of which had very consistent timings and visual hitboxes.
>I bet you thought Fuxi and Nuwa were hard
Their fight was hard, but doable. Hoping for good rng on the second phase was pretty annoying, though.
Literally just learn to unbound parry her red ball attack. She gets stunned from it
Why would you dash through a slash attack? Parry it
Why would you dodge her AOE? Use the charge parry
>Why would you dash through a slash attack? Parry it
In what time window? There's like 200 milliseconds between that and her previous attack.
>Why would you dodge her AOE?
Because I can? The unbounded parry sucks dick to use.
I'm not sure if you're just funposting or actually believe the horseshit you're spouting.
>Because I can? The unbounded parry sucks dick to use.
Hahahaha every fricking time. I bet you thought Fuxi and Nuwa were hard
DAMN, Yi looks like that?
>Manlet shit cuz muh underdog vibes
One day we'll return to 'normal' protagonists
No tail, no buy
>"Screwdriver sucks to use. Why can't I just keep hammering everything?"
Would she be interested in a romantic dinner date?
she has many eyes indeed, but it would take but a single leaf to blind this junior to mount tai
>can only hit him once or twice before he teleports
>most of his attacks take out like half your health
>those fricking time bombs everywhere
>ends up being an endurance fight and I always run out of weed to smoke with a 1/3 of his health still left
Alright give it to me straight, what am I doing wrong here?
Before you jump down to fight him, stand on the top right ledge and fire off all your seeker arrows. He will now start the fight with 50% HP.
I assume you dont boundless+jump counter his ports?
is this game moddable yet i just want to edit the cat's sprites
Since some anons have been pulling out the sprites, I imagine so
I fricking can't man.
By Quadruple slash attack you mean the attack she does at the start of phase2? It’s literally the same every time
Her tell for the quad slash is her face.
I ended up recording my attempts so that I could analyze the attack patterns and come up with counters without the pressure
rewatching the endings, it's very clear that wanted to push the normal ending being worse even if I prefer it. They play a bit of Eigongs theme during it and they purposefully cut off the dialog depicting their current situation. In comparison, you get a boatload more context and the closure with Heng and the humans in general. Kinda wish they were both just different paths instead of the normal ending feeling a bit underwhelming (I love the idea of humanity living on an alien planet while being led by the last surviving alien of said planet), but I think I can finally accept and appreciate the outcome of the true ending after mulling over it for a while
Yi X Heng smut fic in Tao heaven when
She’s been waiting 500 years imagine how pent up she is…
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I FRICKING HATE THAT RED FIRE
USE THE FRICKING CHARGE PARRY
I DO
AND SHE STILL SPRAYS IT FRICKING EVERYWHERE ON THE GROUND LIKE AN UN-NEUTERED CAT
Record your fight and post it
Her red orb leap has a limited range
If you stand too far, the attack won't hit you and she will spawn fire even if you counter properly
You need to figure out the spacing on move-by-move basis
She always drops some fire at the start of phase transitions just so you can't get free hits in (unless you use a charge attack for the extra range).
Fire shouldn’t even be a problem if you’re fighting her correctly you are doing something seriously wrong
Anon you can play the fight perfectly and there will still be some fire. It's scripted. You can't parry that.
So…don’t run into it?
The red fire is particularly fricked if you happen to get caught by her talisman grab. Even if you had the respawn jade equipped, you might just die due to the fire damage ticks.
Why are people so obsessed with Yi and Heng fricking when we already got canon incest in the game?
Because Heng is pure and Nuwa is used goods
They're both tragic stories, victims to their own circumstances.
I played the demo ages ago, it was pretty meh, was surprised to see it getting shilled so hard
>shilled
You're a massive fricking moron. have a nice day.
And before you accuse me of anything, the game is a 6/10 at best.
Someone got triggered
>triggered
Fricking hell, did you somehow time travel from 2014 to now?
I'm still in 2014, life is much better.
If you pretend to be stupid too many times one day it won't be pretend anymore.
speaking from experience, aye?
they might not be chinese nationals but they're still chinese by blood
so shilling is part of their very nature
>I was tried by the furgay contingent on Ganker into playing a shitty furry game
My condolences.
Who was harder? Eigong or Isshin?
I beat Isshin but couldnt beat Eigong. Then again Im older now I guess
You can cheese isshin. You just have to get good vs Eigong
90% of your damage to Eigong should be through internal damage and talismans. You get plenty of chances to get a 5 charge bomb off
>You get plenty of chances to get a 5 charge bomb off
During phase 2? When? Because she follows up her talisman move with an upper slash after your second orb charge.
Parry, parry, unbound parry.
Or immediately air dash out before she leaps up to catch you with the slashes. Remember that air parry refreshes air dash and double jump.
I didn't really have any issues with Eigong's visual cues, just that at certain points she might fake you out and had to react a bit.
You'll get there anon, you'll get there.
You have more faith than I.
Yes to both, if I feel like I can unbound parry in time.
I'll try to record one.
Frick no, I finally have her timing down so I can dodge them, I'm not going to spend another 200 attempts trying to learn how to parry them instead.
I use these jades:
>precise parries inflict internal damage
>slashes go faster, but cause internal damage & slashes heal internal damage
>free revive
>slashes go faster, but cause internal damage & slashes heal internal damage
ohnononononono Black person what are you doing
He's using the jade that heals internal damage with every hit (still not worth it imo)
Yeah I meant to quote only the fast attack part.
Faster attacks is pretty good though.
Pretty useful to fix your mistakes if you had been doing sloppy parries, imo.
FRICKFRICKFRICK I'VE NEVER COME THIS CLOSE
I like the slash attacks because the charge attack leaves you vulnerable too long for my liking.
I might try out less pushback and water talisman. Full control is nice to get through the first phase quick, but I can never get a five-charge off during the second phase.
>if you're consistent with perfect parrying her attacks
lol
lmao
>convert portion of damage to internal damage
Interesting. I'll definitely give that a few attempts.
>because the charge attack leaves you vulnerable too long for my liking.
there's an early jade that makes your charge instant if you stay still
yeah the reason i like water talisman is because it lets me be way more defensive if need be, or do a bunch of attacks to add to the explosion if i have time.
Push, anon.
The fruits of labour are the most tasteful when you put the effort in.
Have you tried using the jade that uses a talisman to strengthen the third slash? That can also do massive damage.
Welp, that's all the attempts my wageslaving life will allow for the evening. Current number of attempts rests at 386.
Funny enough, I never get caught by that attack. Except when I'm recording, of course.
I'll try that tomorrow, but I always felt like the timeframe to execute it was too short, so I never bothered.
When she finishes her triple cut thing apply a 5 charge talisman
>lol
>lmao
You seemed pretty consistent anon, it was only nerves that had you slipping up. Trust me, you'll be parrying her more often than attacking, which will heal you more than being consistent with hitting her.
I know that parrying the red white white red slashes are scary, but it's much safer than dashing through her in the middle of it. You can time it by her eye animation.
I won using the stronger charge for 1 stock, less pushback, heal on slash, and damage for perfect parries jades. The stronger charge attack alongside water flow legitimately carried me through that fight, it's unreal damage
You don't need the one that heals internal damage if you're consistent with perfect parrying her attacks, otherwise, solid picks. I'd recommend either having precise parries instantly charge charged slashes (I used this one), or more realistically having your triple combo do more damage if you have Qi charges.
Please tell me you're using the unbounded counters to her red attacks, especially the red orb or the red downward aerial slash, at minimum. Those two attacks are free damage because of how telegraphed they are.
You are legitimately doing it wrong what the frick. Post an attempt
How? I got destroyed by her and I can't have died more than 20 times
Are you trying to parry her air slashes? It's better to dodge the reds ones IMO.
What are Jades are you using?
There are two air slash patterns:
hit>hit>crimson drop
and
hit>crimson drop>orb
First one is better to parry all the way through
Second one is better to dodge after first attack and charge up to parry the orb
There's a slight delay before second hit in second pattern, so you can diffirintate between the two by timings.
I pirated the game and I didn't even get that bug on Lady Ethereal's fight like so many people, I think it's just your brain on copium
What bug?
There are/were some bugs in the game where certain bosses get stuck mid-air upon defeat, which leads to their tao fruit (the flower is mid-air, and so you can't pick it up) or conversations bugging out (character ends up mid-air, so you can't converse with them). The developers have been working on various little bug fixes, pushing patches out every so often.
define "isshin"
there are two isshins and second one is infinitely worse
i haven't yet beat eigong but from all the seethe in these threads eigong seems to be on par with way harder isshin
Pretty sure by isshin anons usually mean the sword saint.
Did she really deserve it?
No. Yi is a dick.
>apeman fricker
She was the equivalent of a furry, so no
she kinda needed to be knocked down a peg. the mind control part is just yi being angry and misunderstandings, maybe a lil outta pocket
The way her legs look implies Yi ripped her legs off instead of cutting them off.
Ok chang
What did you expect from a furgay game?
Do you guys think Eigong is evil? She is the only one you don't get to see memories of her past while inside her soulscape. She also did a bunch other awful shit.
Eigong? She, who pursued immortality at the cost destroying her entire civilization? She, who would rather merge everyone into a zombi-fied hivemind rather than accept her failure?
Nah, she was a saint.
She lost her marbles at one point. I don't think she was inherently evil but too prideful to admit that she fricked up and couldn't find a solution.
I guess the answer is yes.
My guess is she's nuts but hides it under a calm exterior, much like how she manages to hide her mutation inside herself to appear normal
I love Eigong!
t. Hivemind virus
This anon is a hag fricker.
I'm a hag fricker supreme and at best I'd brutally rape her and mostly out of hate.
Is there a spider in the ceiling?
What's happening here, I wonder
Someone translate pls
Google Translate says Rather than accept you rotting in Penglai like those who have returned to Taoism, I would rather forget you.
so it's likely that line from one of the flashbacks: I'd rather forget about you than approve of you rotting with the rest of the lunatics on Penglai.
Probably, yeah, good guess
I wonder wtf the artiste was trying to do then.
I think it's probably Yi thinking back and having regrets. So it's more of a collage, rather than a comic you read from panel to panel.
at least that artist tried his best
>I must return to my planet now
I just got to this part and with Heng's mystic shit being usually true doesn't it mean than solarians will get reborn someday once tao stops being assmad? Their planet is covered with mystic tao plant, it sure can pull off shit like popping reborn solarians back from nodes akin to Yi
>Change da world. My final message. Goodbye.
>Yi melts down into tao soup
>hurr old kot told to me to do bad thing
Cope
i really don't get what you all see in water control, the damage is so piss that it's only good at shutting weak mooks and not like the opportunity to use it is much better than full control
Full control is amazing and stuns most bosses when you hit a full charge one
If i wasn't lazy I'd get a recorded run of water control vs Eigong. It's really just preference, I had a lot of trouble using the other modes.
>water
Can apply them in rapid succession, while doing other stuff
>control
Highest damage but requires picking the right times
>default
Free arrow refreshes to stun any boss on demand
>Can apply them in rapid succession
but it doesn't let you put a new one until previous explodes?
Yeah, but you don't really need to keep a many of them around. With default and full control I always felt like it was a waste to do a one stock talisman explosion.
Please tell me this gay homosexual doesn't have three phases like Lady Ethereal
no but i hope you aren't getting filtered by Ji of all bosses
What good is the huge dick when he's clearly the bottom?
The ape consume
imagine if Heng somehow were alive using tao bullshit and Yi would just deliver prime shota to her
That's clearly wrong, he's depicted as incredibly quick to learn and talented.
No doubt he'd be better at sex than Yi, who's an asocial sexless nerd, in a matter of hours
Male humans must always top, especially if its a furboi
W... Whats that big bed for?
Why is he posing like that??
Why would he say that????
You just know
>Go back to previous areas to find items I missed
>Find a bunch of gifts to Shuanshuan
>Little shota learns how to program, craft furniture and grows a giant fish tree in the span of a few days
>that time when he became addicted to video games
>he called Detention not interesting
He took being ripped away from his virtual paradise very well somehow. We don't deserve Shuanshuan
Lewd Heng
So how much does the "stuns enemy when applying talisman" jade even affect Eigong? I kept that jade on basically for the whole playthrough, but took it off for Eigong because it seemed to affect her very little.
idk but it let me get 5 charge bombs off consistently
Anons say what Yi did to Goumang was cruel and unusual, but that moment was the worst of them all.
It's even worse that he never made it back to her before the launch, so that was their last conversation.
People keep posting that screenshot but I think this one line is even more cruel
>There's a level cap
What the frick I wasn't told about this. I wanted to level up the whole skill tree...
The remaining skill points are gained by collecting Tao Fruit
Oh that's nice to know
Didn't know the game even had a level cap. I guess I collected all tao fruits before getting the necessary experience.
i didn't know that either until i got a max level notification and theres still 4 more skillpoints to get
You will, just gotta find the last Tao fruits
I want a Lear edit of this
here you go anon
I feel like he should say that to a field of flowers
Nice
Someone post the pic of Yi being a liquid cat in various containers
He is channeling the Dao, flowing like water.
Anon he literally came up with the entire apemen murder machine idea and blueprints. They probably constructed it before leaving Penglai
So they just new their entire biology and so, by just watching the planet through teelscopes and shit? Well I mean I guess, they have deatsh stars and what not in the ancient times.
Yeah, their planetary scanners are just built different, apparently.
>by just watching the planet through teelscopes and shit?
You'd be surprised at how much more we'd be able to see if we built a observatory-sized satellite in space, as opposed to on our planet.
Yes they used the Haotian sphere or whatever to confirm if they were intelligent or not. Then jumped to earth and captured them, brought them onto new kunlun and transmutated them for some unknown reason and released them into the villages
yi with emo hair
Yi was in charge of the apemen zone. There are statues of him in that area just like there are for other sols in their respective areas.
An NPC will eventually ask for them.

>ywn play this game for the first time ever again
>it might take another 5 years for Red Candle to make another game, and there's no guarantee it'll be as good
>Still no art of Lady E getting spanked by Yi with a paddle made of chi while she begs for more
>No art of Yi in BDSM gear as Lady E's soulscape turns her nightmare into a sex dungeon
That's incredibly specific, but I agree
I want to see what their kid would look like.
Since they did spend like 500 years orbiting the pale blue planet its possible that they could conceive, have it grow up, and surpass their age with vital sanctum shenanigans.
There’s no kids anymore since the disease passes down
question, what causes the disease to actually end up killing a solarian? just from what I've seen, most people that die to it were usually already old and as seen in the prequel manga, there were instances of it starting to effect hien and they somehow recovered from tianhou instead of dying. couldn't they just frick like rabbits and keep the species alive through persistence?
From what I gathered, tianhuo breaks their dna down and they turn into flowers. So might just be a luck of the draw how quickly it affects any given individual.
yeah i figured. they kept it vague how the disease works outside it's ingrained in their dna, so i think a lil bit of assumption is required. I sorta assumed it slowly, generation by generation, made solarians more prone to genetic defects and diseases that sped up the process of tianhou.
I don't remember it making everyone infertile.
The passenger cap was more like them not having enough space for their entire species since it was just an island and not something like an entire continent.
I prefer Nine Sols's combat over Hollow Knights simply because enemies in this game don't hurt you when you walk into them.
I just remembered why I didn’t like hollow knight kek
Nine sols doesnt have these homies, so its better by default
Yeah but you don't gain a half-screen of height off a pogo and the charge attack doesn't have a really meaty THWOP. Hollow Knight has its perks.
its shilled to death here
its not that great
its ok i guess
worse than hollow knight, which i keep seeing shill articles calling this game the "silksong waiting room" so to speak, to tide you over until silksong is out
but its shittier by a strong magnitude
why is it shittier? the art is more polished and detailed, the story is more in-depth and emotional, the gameplay is more complex and challenging. the exploration is worse, and the music is worse, but it's not obviously inferior in the way a "waiting room" would imply. i (and a few other anons in these threads) prefer it.
The sister kinda remind me of the sister from Cat Soup. I think it's the eyes
I was reminded of Cat Soup too but from Chien rather
Kinda makes me think about how neat a point and click Cat Soup game could be
Might be interesting if it were based off the movie. If they based it more off the comics though it'd be interesting for different reasons. The psychopathy of the characters makes the Goumang scene look like a joke comparatively
>cat soup but it's yi trying to explain all the weird bullshit heng gets into
>he fails at every junction
So what happens to goumang after you beat her? Does she ever appear again?
she appears off-screen in ji's bedroom, pleasing him in whatever way he demands
Always do the opposite of what Ganker plays. Unless it's

That's about it.

The haters of this game just got filtered, right? I haven't gotten it yet but I'm gonna get it any day now, really excited to play it, shit looks fricking kino
Yes, filtered by story or by difficulty. You need an attention span and a modicum of skill to enjoy this game.
I'm not a zoomer so I'm sure I'll be alright
Souls-like fans aren't used to read, especially for lore. They need someone to explain them the story in a video (kind of like zoomers, now that I think about it).
>random seethe about souls-like fans out of nowhere
everytime
Rent free, mindbroken, and buck broken. Kys
Come on now, souls fans can read hundreds of thousands of pages of information as long as it's organized into equipment info boxes
The whole thing that started a lot of people's "Souls" autism was a 90 page analysis of Bloodborne. For whatever shit you wanna hurl at them, they probably spend more time reading every bit of text trying to decipher a deeper meaning and connect the dots more than any other gaming community.
So how big of a success was this compared to Red Candle's other games?
?si=uVqWs5kDMmDMvfSz
What he's saying is that a lot of enemy attacks barely have animated telegraphs and the game relies entirely on the gimmick of sound and spark tells instead of giving you a readable wind up
Fair. When it's all hand animated, you kind of have to take some shortcuts for the animations, unless you want to increase the workload even further.
Yi should thoroughly and meticulously investigate this.
>shennog cures Tianhou
That’s a good fanfic idea
Plot twist, he doesn't end up curing Tianhuo, but instead gets "cured" of his condition.
Someone posted the same idea in an earlier thread, but with Shennong taking a bite out of a solarian
Are diseases equivalent to poison?
Depends on how chinese his condition actually is. Just read the Shennong wikipedia page for a quick lark.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shennong
The flowers are fungal aren’t they?
No? It's like an incomprehensible genetic virus. The flowers are just a side effect.
Why is he so cool bros?
The fact that they put savepoints quite literally right next to boss encounters is pretty telling of what kind of "challenge" they were going for.
Just beat Lady Ethereal and the feeling was more of "thank God it's over" instead of "I finally did it!"
I would hate to imagine if they didn't have those save points right before bosses, and they did too apparently...
Lady ethereal is easy though
She wasn't and your a disingenuous egotistical homosexual
She literally is. Her attacks are extremely easy to parry. I bet her on my 3rd attempt
People who struggle with ethereal either don’t understand you can parry any direction while in the air, or don’t use the talisman
Charge attack works wonders for stunning her, too.
I don't think the game would get substantially more difficult if the checkpoints were spread out further. Just little more tiresome.
Huh, that's cute.
>shitters get to see exclusive content
For once, sucking at video games isn't as bad as I thought. I was wondering how that section would play out for other players.
based
Yeah I have been reading about the Tao how did you know?
Would his puke-wine be more or less disgusting if it was moob juice?
It'd be someone's fetish anyway
I really don't understand how some people get into the mindset of
>I can't believe everyone finds this so difficult, they must suck!
As opposed to
>I can't believe I don't find this difficult, I must be awesome!
But failing to unbound parry on Jie turns the arena into an inferno and can easily lead to cascading failure.
>having a mental breakdown now because he realized he sucks
I'm having a mental breakdown because homosexuals like you take your ability to overcome difficult things with ease for granted.
wow
indie hollow knight metroidvania
white non-human protagonist
ebic
where buy?
It’s actually good though
I'm not reading a thread past bump limit, but I'll say I enjoyed both hollow knight and nine sols. Nine sols had better bosses and story, hollow knight had better exploration and was far less linear. I don't know why you people can't just enjoy and like videogames instead of making everything about bullshit contests. Like dude, hollow knight came out a LONG time ago. I need something new to play. Frick off. Chinks cooked something good this time.
