The game is tasteless. It's the epitome of technical competence at the expense of artistic expression. The art direction feels like it was made by someone fresh out of college. They shit up the original atmosphere by making the most generic, by the book decisions possible, like taking an area like Latria with a green color palette and shitting it up with a ton of saturation and a bunch of orange because it's what their first year textbook taught them. Literally none of the redesigns are either an improvement or justified to begin with. Not only are all of the art and designs as generic as humanly possible, looking like they're straight out of nu-diablo or doom, but they're so warped that it doesn't even resemble the original at all.

Demon's Soulless animation work is lazy and amateurish. The player xharacter has an insane and unrealistic speed gain yet 0 momentum because they didn't have the talent to put animators at work over mocapping some homosexual with a foam stick, AND IT SHOWS.
Demon's Souls was known to have insanely well made and detailed animations which still hold up today and utterly mog its own DEMAKE.

It has some QoL improvements but not much else. While you're locked on you have Omni-directional rolling. You have new items like Elixirs (speeds up stamina recovery) and Cracked Stone Eye (blocks healing in a vicinity, some new armor sets (that are mostly trash like the Penetrator, equip burden doesn't really matter now since you can automatically send everything back to storage, Crest Grass now has significant weight and you can no longer whole 99 of any type, there's a fractured mode which is just a mirror vision of the game, two new rings (a 5% HP boost and a ring that lets you sprint in deep water). There's other stuff I'm missing but other than some slight changes it's the same.
It's actually disappointing because some of the bosses/enemies needed major re-working but cuckpoint didn't even touch them (AI is still complete shit, bosses like Allant/Man Eaters have those glitched instant charges attacks that come out in like incredibly small frame window and can constantly get stacked on terrain).
They could have actually rebalanced armor, which would be fairly easy. But gameplay wasn't a priority here
Ironically the DeS remakes is so in-line with the original that the speedrun times would be the same if the original had the same fast load times. But yeah guys cry about the game you don't play, pretend it's any different from the original. No one cares about your opinions as always.
