Don't know I'm waiting for 3rd person dlc before I play it.
I don't liked VII. VIII looks worst
7 is alright, the 2 worst parts of it (and it was intentional from devs) is to make ethan fricking slow the whole game (till kill all the bobbleheads) and that the creatures are mold and not zombies. If those 2 were fixed it would be a more enjoyable game, but the slowness was the devs believing it would "build terror".

Ton of variety
If you waited this long, you might as well wait for all the DLC stuff in October, so you can play everything in one go. If not, just play it now, and see for yourself.
It's pretty fun overall, although only has one section that's genuinely a bit unnerving. It's more in the vein of RE 4, more of an action game. Would just play it without reading any spoilers.

Hopefully the DLC is good
A lot of set pieces with a wide range of themes BUT no replay value. Very linear even with the optional highest difficulty that changes up some of the enemy placement and the like.
This can be considered a failure as a lot of the unlockables have been designed with repeat playthroughs in mind
Yeah half of the game is a pain to replay. Its really surprising considering how well 7 was made.

really good immersion, fun more faster paced gameplay, mommy milkers, based heisenberg. i'd say its not really well suited for multiple playthroughs so take your time on the first one and enjoy the experience
RE8 is an alrighty but thoroughly whelming experience. Game needed three to four more open areas to explore, and the titular Village should have been more involved with gameplay. As it stands now the game was testing grounds for RE4make.
I'm waiting for the third person mode before I buy this. I hope it's not ass.
