It's pretty good and has a lot of charm, but just the japanese version though. US version made every alternative shot consume your mana which makes a lot of them unviable because even if you play the game perfectly you'll consume more than you'll absorb.

Played it during the summertime a couple of years ago and it completely blew me away. I was not expecting to get completely hooked on a game from 1997.

I need to revisit this one.

I always thought Crazy Taxi just works so well as an arcade high score chasing game, I would call it perfect. I can come back to this one endless times trying to get better scores, and even with the limited cars/two cities/limited soundtrack, I never find it boring.

I've only really played CT2 a great deal, and while it's really good, I don't think it's as good as 1.
The city design isn't nearly as tight, and it's easy to get lost. The jump doesn't add much to the gameplay, just makes it more complicated/bloated feeling IMO.
CT3 looks interesting and I need to play some more of it when I get my Xbox back.

There are not perfect games; they always have flaws. For example, you post REmake, which I love dearly, but the criticism that player movement is slow and chunky compared to the original trilogy is true, thus REmake is not perfect.

but that's actually not true because REmake has the 180 turn and RE1 doesn't

I know most people would go for the Genesis in this case, but I dislike 100% completion and also Super Sonic's implementation there, despite me loving all of the rest... but here, I like all of it, it's often underrated since most people played the Game Gear port instead... and the low resolution really hurts that version, but this one? It's stellar. I love finding the Chaos Emeralds by exploring, I love the gimmicks and mechanics each level has, the OST, atmosphere, the looks... I love all of it.
