Those are actually pistol shrimp, mantis shrimp actually strikes things with its claws for its effects while the pistol shrimp just snaps its claws proper.

They're based on Pistol Shrimps, not the Mantis kind you absolute buffoon

Not that guy, but ITS A FRICKING SHRIMP. Can we check off that box and move on to other, better designs? Not every variant needs a Pokémon when there are many species that haven't gotten one.

A water/fighting mantis shrimp mon would be kino. Give it bullet punch, mach punch, aqua jet, sucker punch, first impression with technician or an ability that powers up priority moves.

      >make it a water type entirely because it lives in water when it's the perfectly opportunity to be the first electric/fighting type
      you're boring

          >the force of their punches are so powerful they produce their own light
          >can't grasp how this could be played into an electric typing
boring and room temperature IQ. Sad!

            >Because they strike so rapidly, they generate vapor-filled bubbles in the WATER between the appendage and the striking surface—known as cavitation bubbles
Poorly researched and below room temperature IQ spotted. Even sadder!

              >punches literally vaporize the water surrounding the area of impact
My point exactly. I accept your concession and am glad even the most dull and boring people can also agree its typing should counter water.
