I'm of two minds on this. I really don't want to write off the church entirely because I think Christianity is a beautiful religion with a lot of great things to say, but I'm not a Christian myself partly because of some horrible experiences I had at my church as a child.
I still don't think I have it in me to call the church evil, but I do think a lot of evil people are allowed to thrive in the church. A lot of people take advantage of the church, but a lot of people use it to do good, too.
