honestly the GameCube is only "cool" from a hardware perspective.
Eternal darkness & Killer 7 will probably the most interesting experiences you'll have on the platform

I liked it tbh but I could see how people might not like it. First time I played it. I got semi burnt out towards the end and almost did not finish it but I finished it and overall I had fun
Not him, but the two-rider gimmick is a bit clunky. Sure, the side-dash thing is actually super based and feels very good not only as a "frick you, person beside me" button, but also to tweak your direction without turning. But... Actually, no but. That shit is tight. Yeah, later games feel more maneuverable, but Double Dash has heft.
obligatory anything with mario, zelda, donkey kong, kirby, metroid in title
pikmin 1 and 2
chibi robo (peak of the system, and perhaps of video games period)
baten kaitos
super smash bros melee (do not make the mistake of playing this with other people)
monkey ball

>Eternal darkness >interesting experience
Nintendo cultists are the only ones who regard this game as anything more than mediocre, since it's GameCube exclusive and one of the only "horror" games on the system. >incredibly easy >braindead puzzles >boring rock paper scissors magic system >only two bosses in the whole game >auto regenerating MP + sanity restore spells mean you have to purposely play the game like a moron for the sanity effects to occur >no incentive to be conservative with ammo since each chapter is over in 30 minutes
If this was on PS2 instead, it would be held in the same regard as crap like Obscure and Extermination.
>Eternal darkness & Killer 7 will probably the most interesting experiences
Based. When I was old enough to start buying my own games, I bought these 2 games from a used games store. Killer7 is absolutely nuts, it's one of my favorite games, I watched a trailer and gameplay video and knew I had to play it.
Eternal Darkness, my friend had to convince me to play it. I was skeptical for a while. It's not by any means a great game like
said, it is pretty janky but the things I liked about it just came together. Also even the villain looks and acts like a saturday morning cartoon villain but it's always fun when a cutscene with him comes up. And yeah the sanity effects were pretty fun, sometimes they got me.
Oh and the two Rogue Squadron games, those are alright and not easily emulated, the downside is that you don't have save states, while the graphics are incredible the gameplay is quite hard on some levels or boring.
Hard? Yeah. Boring? Never (well maybe in the third games on foot segments). Those games are some hardcore arcade gauntlets we'll never see the likes of again on a major console as a major release.
These were my favorites as far as platform exclusives go:
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Wario World
Super Smash Bros. Melee
It has several good ports of multiplatform games, too. Viewtiful Joe, Beyond Good & Evil and the Timesplitters games are all pretty good.
It's one of those games that you had to be there for. A game that ran in real time using the GameCube's clock? The concept literally blew my mind. I hadn't seen anything like it before. It had me staying up late to talk to the ghost that deweeds your island, playing on Christmas and other major holidays, scouring the land at all times of the day in different seasons to fill up my museum, and rushing home after school tomget my homework done so I could still make it to nook's shop on time.
Then I found out it had GBA connectivity and holy hell I can go to a separate island and play NES games on the go with my GBA? I thought the game could do anything.
I'm sorry you missed that man, I really am. It's the finest experience I had on GameCube and it's impossible to recreate.
Luigi's Mansion would be great to play in October. The gameplay is fun, and it's a master class in atmosphere, which unfortunately it's sequels completely lack.
If you like card games you should check out Phantasy Star Online Episode III. It's a highly underrated game because it differed so much from its predecessors but it's actually quite good.
Picrel. SSX3 is great, so if you can't play it on a newer x bawks, play the gamecube version.
I'm told the gamecube remaster of RE2 is the best one.
The 3D Zeldas are hands down some of the best games ever made for people who aren't very bright nor good at video games.
Get a Gameboy Player with an exploitable memory card in order to use a much better software than the OG Player Disc. Plus you can use games like Melee and Wind Waker to boot into the software.
Don't bother with anything else.
I hate this post cuz its right.
Rerelease of the 4 best Zelda's is the GameCubes best game
Zelda II isn’t on GameCube.
Yeah it is
It's on collectors
>jank 480p ports of OoT and MM
If it wasn't for the N64 looking like absolute dogshit on anything but a CRT than nobody would prefer these at all.
RE4
Metroid Prime
Zelda Wink Waker
That's it.
>RE4
Walking simulator
>Metroid Prime
Overrated shooter
>Zelda Wink Waker
Second worst game in its entire series
>Mario sunshine
Worst game in its entire series
>walking simulator
When did RE4 become Ico?
(you)
>calls RE4 a walking simulator yet calls Metroid Prime a shooter
You haven't played either.

I didn’t know they made Bloody Roar 3. Nice.
Metroid prime 1 and 2

Mario kart double dash

Oh and I forgot star fox assault is pretty fun too.
I liked it tbh but I could see how people might not like it. First time I played it. I got semi burnt out towards the end and almost did not finish it but I finished it and overall I had fun
Which did you enjoy?
I hope you're joking about double dash
It's the worst Mario kart
Why whats wrong with double dash?
Not him, but the two-rider gimmick is a bit clunky. Sure, the side-dash thing is actually super based and feels very good not only as a "frick you, person beside me" button, but also to tweak your direction without turning. But... Actually, no but. That shit is tight. Yeah, later games feel more maneuverable, but Double Dash has heft.
>Double dash
Anyone who mentions Double Dash should be ignored.
It's the single best Mario Kart.

Other games I like a lot:
Ikaruga
Metroid Prime
Ikaruga
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time
Decent Nintendo exlusives:
Zelda: Wind Waker
SSBM
Luigi's Mansion
Paper Mario: TTYD
Wario World
Ports of good games on concurrent consoles:
RE4
Viewtiful Joe
Beyond Good and Evil
Timesplitters
I haven't played eternal darkness but I have a feeling its shit

Monkey Ball, you haven't properly played it until you've played it with a GC pad.
Also Super Monkey Ball 2 is good
Mario, Zelda, Smash, the list goes on...
Fire emblem path of radiance, Megaman command mission, killer 7, Lord of the rings games, Metroid Prime 1 and 2, MGS twin snakes, eternal darkness
>Killer 7
I couldn't get past the first level I just don't understand how to play that game.
didn't really find any good ones. SSX3 has no slowdown in the city but the controller is kinda shit for the game so whatever. Viewtiful joe is ok
Animal crossing in GC was magical back in the day. You probably wouldn't enjoy it as much now, still though. Nothing has hit like it since.
It was before everybody knew how video games worked so there was some mystery to it.

GC blows unless you like Smash. Xbox, dc and PS2 are all better.

This is the first I'm hearing of it. The images it provides (

Playing through Pikmin 2 for the first time. Got to say it's pretty awesome, I'd recommend to anyone who is looking for GameCube games.
