axis and allies is pretty good and its like 20 years old too
broodwar remastered, steel division
Definetly not that
RA1 is genuinely one of my favorite RTS games aesthetically, especially in motion.
>ground control 2 and world in conflict seem to just not be aging at all
>the buildings and the ships in the first cossacks are gorgeous and the units are still pretty good looking too
>idk if the skyboxes in homeworld 2 count, but they're breathtaking and convey a sense of scale like no other game.
the sybox in the first level of GC2 was a brutally impresive sight and the fact that it didn't make my FX5200 explode was even more impressive
yeah, i remember being stuck at ground level staring at my units for the first few minutes and then finally panning up and being blown away
also i will say this for gc2's skyboxes, they had a tangible quality to them, they didn't look just like a static concept image like homeworld's. they looked like they were rendered in-engine i guess.
>ground control 2
Pretty much only the UI makes it noticable.
I wonder if I could get original red alert to run in dosbox, openra just doesn't cut it for me
If only there was a remaster of it or something
Why run it in DOSBox? Use the win95 version with the unfricked infantry sprites.

Dark Reign 2 was so pretty and stylish. I couldn't believe these kinda graphics could run on a home computer.
It's weird DR 2 has better infantry models than Generals. One game came out in 2000 and the other 2003.
Any of the Anno games or AoE 2/3.
Pic related is still one of those most beautiful aesthetics I've ever seen in a strategy game period.
whats the game amigo
TA:Kingdoms
Screenshot has the Iron Plague expansion faction shown.
I love the color pallette of RA1
Same.
I really dig Sudden Strike aesthetics
Homeworld, kinda cheating since it's mostly just skybox you'll be seeing but it's a good fricking skybox
I still don’t get how Relic went from a masterpiece like Homeworld to the totally crap Impossible Creatures.
Frick you impossible creatures is awesome
I bounced off it hard. I liked the overall concept of building your own units but thought the execution was poor and in reality most combos could have been lumped into a couple units roles. That and the game’s internal logic for how things were supposed to work made zero sense. Why do we have coal but we don’t burn it for electricity, instead collecting it from lightning rods? I dunno man, just wasn’t a fan, especially after Homeworld.
Company of Heroes 1,2 and 3
Damn, Men of War 2 looks kind of shitty in that picture.
hello where is stronghold?
