2. A more in-depth exploration of the party's acceptance and being at peace with Aerith's death, and a great send-off for her major contribution to ultimately ending the threat. Even something a small as seeing Aerith walking off in an all-white background, satisfied that her friends and loved ones are safe would be nice.
Part 3 better give a good reason for all the different time jannies and the rainbow shit.
I unironically have a suspicion for a, not exactly Sephiroth redemption arc, but a "fully breaking from Jenova corruption/possibly sacrificing self" thing. Which will ultimately close off the last remnant of the Sephiroth/Jenova lifestream conflict that persisted.

It's not like Advent Children and Crisis Core didn't happen. They're legitimately not good, but I enjoyed those two things anyway.
That's my point, AC and CC were praised at the time due to nostalgia, but with time their flaws became more apparent. The RE trilogy so far have strong points like the combat and characters, but the padding and shit story have put a ceiling on how well they could ever truly do. If they stuck with the story and kept it to 2 games instead of 3 maybe, but I guarantee "masterpiece" opinions on them will age like milk

I really like Zack surviving his last stand, because I'm a huge fan of "what-if" stories about what would happen if this one critical thing changed, and seeing what happens after that. Same with Aerith surviving, though who the frick knows what's up with her right now.
Well now I'm just going to always believe that CC Zack never really died to begin with. He just got sent to a parallel world where he survived. Even if this is a second loop and takes place after AC/DOC.

The Fusion Sword and Cloud making his own battle style with it for the endgame of Part 3 is the one thing I hope that happens. It's just a cool fricking sword.
My unrealistic dream is a time-skip post-game world set around the time of Advent Children, sort of like the epilogue of RDR2. See how the areas and characters have changed.

Only experience with FF games has been VII when a friend lent me their PS1 as a kid in the early 2000s and X which we played through together during our Friday night game sessions. Also just finished my yearly playthrough of Ghost of Sushi and will probably have finished Stellar Blade and DMC5 on PC by the time I get to another game.

Cloud's final fight with Sephiroth is physical, and occurs at the Edge of Creation. It's not a metaphor for his mental struggle, it actually happens. Evidence:
1) After the party defeats Jenova Lifeclinger, the rainbow effect engulfs them
2) When next we return to the party (right before they fight Bizarro Sephiroth), they're all talking about how Cloud has physically disappeared and are looking around for him
3) Cloud is physically present during Zack's "together as one" Synergy Ability
4) After they beat Sephiroth, Aerith asks him "Ready? Everyone's waiting." We next see him returned to the party.
It's possible that Bizarro Sephiroth was Cloud's last physical fight at the Edge of Creation and he just sat there afterwards being schizo until Aerith returned him, but there's no evidence for this. When Cloud goes schizo, the screen flashes with static and that never happens during the EoC fights. Conversely, the multiversal rainbow effect clearly appears when Aerith joins him.
