I hope the new art direction is not in service of Disney's live action remakes. It is probably for Marvel, Star Wars, and Fox properties, which still doesn't make me see the art style change feel like a necessity, but it's not as bad.
I know that FF and Japan-isms are ostensibly represented by the OCs, but I hope some more FF characters show up again, as they get to have actual reinterpretations of themselves. Nomura needs to let go of his self-consciousness over what characters he allows himself to us.
I wouldn't rule out the live action remakes, as much as I would hate their inclusion too. But I think you're right about it being more for Star Wars than anything. Changing the art style for a whole other pool of "real" worlds makes sense when you remember how weird PotC in KH2 looked and that they clearly made the effort with the shader in KH3 so that Sora & Co would look less outlandish next to Orlando Bloom and Jack Sparrow. I'd imagine a big part of the deal in getting to use Star Wars is "don't make it look too ridiculous"

I gave up on plot altogether, so at least let Shimomura write a good OST again (Nomura asked her to make a TON of remixes in KH3 and overall OST ended up on the weaker side) and add some good 2D Disney movies that are yet to be featured in KH series

That's not what I was hinting at there, what was referring to is the fact that Disney more than likely has rules within the company that prevent its DTVA properties from crossing over with its cinematic works and vice-versa.
I have a feeling that's probably due to Disney meddling with world selection in general and requiring that SE works with each film's production team with incorporating said worlds (just look at how bland Arendelle was) into KH but I wouldn't be surprised if that were also true. That said I wouldn't be surprised if Pixar wanted to move away from having their film being featured in KH, given what Pete Docter said about regarding original films and how he's pushing for more personal stories it feels like not as big of a KH fan as Lasseter was.
I also thought that Disney might be starting to block Nomura from using older films but since one of the locations that popped up in the Missing Link trailer feels like it's from The Sword in the Stone I'm starting to think it has more to do with Nomura feeling that Disney's recent films are "unsuitable" for KH for some reason.
If would be great if they focus on Pixar's classic in the mainline game and focus on Disney's classic in spinoffs(If they planned to make any more after ML)

This is so sad tbh. While the handheld games had their issues they were still fun to play, and I remember getting BBS, Crisis Core and Dissidia on my PSP and spending hundreds of hours with them.

Closed Beta was earlier this year in January (with only 1k players) and since then nothing, so I imagine either TGS or D23 in September will have news about it. Probably safe to expect it in 2024 but it might come out at the end of current year.

Disney is a bit funky when it comes to Max, on the one hand Goofy having a son is a concept introduced in their animated shorts but on the other Max wasn't really fleshed out until Goof Troop (which would render him unusable due to Disney's rules regarding crossovers). AFAIK Max hasn't been used in any of Disney's recent animated outings barring a cameo in the DuckTales reboot.

I want Maleficent, Pete, and Disney villains in general to be relevant again. Their collusion was one of the best parts of KH1 and I much preferred them in 2 to the Espada who took over the IP.
Considering that Nomura had to change summons from the traditional "summon a Disney character to help you in battle" that was present in KH1 and KH2 to "it's magic manifesting as a Disney character and said magic helps you in battle" for KH3 due to Disney suits not liking it anymore I really doubt you'll see stuff like Maleficent and/or Pete teaming up with worldbound Disney villains again.
