What game conclusively has the best writing of any recent RPG? Do Paizoshit inc live up to the CRPG name?

I hope this is a bait post and the actual state of owlcat shills

Definitely not any Pathfinder game. I don't know how many writers these games have or what their backgrounds are, but the prose is extremely basic and they're creatively bankrupt. Some of the companions in Kingmaker read like middle school fanfic. Disco Elysium is clearly at the top of the list and is closest to adult literature, despite having been written by an Estonian novelist. Not sure if he wrote the script in English himself or if someone translated it. Either way, they did an amazing job.
>I don't know how many writers these games have or what their backgrounds are
Original writing is a way worse than you can imagine. English translation toned down that shit.
Do you work for larian?
Disco Elysium was made by ZA/UM. The writing in Pathfinder just sucks. I'd place Dragonfall just below Disco Elysium in terms of actual writing quality.
Not him but the writing in the Pathfinder games is objectively mediocre. It gets the job done and conveys the general idea or emotion that they are trying to get across, but it sure as hell isn't written well.
meds pal
take them
>Some of the companions in Kingmaker read like middle school fanfic.
Shit taste. Kingmaker brought exaggerated personalities back, which is the reason BG characters are so beloved. Most games since have tried to make their characters more grounded and "realistic", but the end result is the characters just become less interesting and forgettable.

Haven't played dos or underrail.
Oh yeah I forgot Numemera. Bottom tier I think.
is this meant to say wotr and kingmaker are garbage or they're just worse than the ones listed
Planet Escape: Tournament?
>What game conclusively has the best writing
Well that would be stuff like Alpha Protocol, Planescape, Fallou-
>of any recent RPG?
Oh.
None. I cant thing of a recent RPG that had decent writing.
Pillars of Eternity in certain parts but it had other parts that just were such a complete drag that I feel it dragged the whole game down.
>Do Paizoshit inc live up to the CRPG name?
No. Nothing related to Paizo ever had a shred of good writing.
Which isnt surprising if you consider Pozfinders roots: Pathfinder was something turbospergs who tought that D&D 3.X wasnt broken enough came up with.
It was made by people who played the Punpuns, the Munchkins, the Min-Maxxers of D&D and who thought that the most fun in an RPG is not the interactions with the other players on an adventure but how they can break the game via number-crunching and spreadsheets and the system reflects that.
