M1903 Springfields have an internal magazine meaning you can only load single rounds or stripper clips. (In this case only single rounds should be possible because the scope rests on top). Yes that is done at the top. The bolt isn't on the wrong side per sé, it's a left-handed Springfield. The problem with games doing that is they end up presenting all their bolt-action rifles as left-handed, which makes no sense because they're obviously a minority of the weapon available. Fallout 4's hunting rifle (I think) and CS1.6's AWP are the same.

If your damage dealing tool, often the primary one, gets so little attention from the developers.
