>What did the brownoid mean with this? Like "aged"?
Funny, the only 2 graphics gays I knew IRL who shat on older games and only wanted to play "realistic" AAA garbage had brownish skin
Hot take: good graphics stimulate the brain regions women use to see the world, and men have more imagination than women so less is really more in a man's brain.
They didn't have bad graphics though.
In fact, relatively speaking, the graphics in old games were cutting edge and mind blowing.
Compare that to modern indie games that make games look bad on purpose because "lol it's retro bro"...
jagged alliance 2 is so much fun, the graphical fidelity sucks but the game oozes with so much charm and character you completely forget about the fact that it looks worse than fallout 1
Anons I want to play Simcity 3000 again have been waiting for the Steam release for a while now, but is there any mod that lets you wasd to move screen or improves the click/edge scrolling? It's so bad and everything else about the game is great
Do Gen Z and Gen Alpha even care about graphics? It feels like a very millennial obsession from back when photorealistic visuals was this thing off in the distance everyone dreamt of being real, now that we're more or less here, there's no "dream" of better graphics anymore.
>Of course they care about graphics, why do you think they keep buying games like CoD?
Who plays CoD for graphics? It's just a popular multiplayer game.
I'm a 1981 baby, so I'm technically a millennial, but they didn't have an identity then, so I resemble Gen X.
I'm all for increased fidelity, but I hate companies like CDPR and Crytek that release shitty tech demos they call games. The game should come first.
Even that render could take some improvements, though. Look at how you are the grass up close, but the hills in the distance are just a texture. I can play a game that looks like shit by current standards (even a new one) if it's good, but I love seeing new techniques and technology. I grew up chasing a technological high, moving from console to console, adding 3D accelerators and eventually GPUs to PCs, upgrading from VHS to Laserdisc to DVD to Blu-ray to UHD Blu-ray. It's power, and like Tim Allen says, I need moar.
give me the Dreamcast hair
>bad graphics
What did the brownoid mean with this? Like "aged"?
What word do you guys use, to describe older graphics? Personally I say "outdated", even though some games still hold up pretty well.
Low poly describes them well and leaves room to judge the graphics in question on their own merit, there are good low poly graphics, and bad ones.
Stuff people stretch up to a 0.1 version of an emulator full of bugs and say it looks bad.
I don't. You just specify the year and people who worth their damn understand.
I am not a liberal so I don't need to soft-censor things
90s graphics

PSX/late 90s era 3D graphics. Thief is almost unplayable
I'm playing through Medal of Honor. Does that count?
yes it's pretty pixelated.
I prefer the """ bad""" graphics
Gothic I & II
>bad
is this real?
every single vertex
these mind-boggling effects are difficult to believe
Believe.
I want to PET that bird and STROKE it's feathers while feeding it high-quality, low-polygon birdseed
>despite
>"bad"
i was playing ssx tricky earlier today
If a game filters you, you're a moron with no imagination.
Hot take: good graphics stimulate the brain regions women use to see the world, and men have more imagination than women so less is really more in a man's brain.
>bad graphics
Hmmmm Not many games I play have bad graphics but if I had to pick one i'd say pic is the closest to bad.
Nope. this is comptent enough. Especially the detailing on the arrow which is stylized.
Been replaying lately, just defeated Zephon. Still a masterpiece.

They didn't have bad graphics though.

Sure were - luv me some superman 64, excaliber 2555 and bubsy 3d.

>steamie can't play a 25 year old game unless it is on steam as it doesn't exist otherwise
lol, lmao even
i think of it as a moron filter. no big loss really. gatekeeping is healthy for the mind and small communities.
>ESL thread
anyway, half life
Recently it's been Descent
Black person, tons of old games have better graphics than modern ones.
wat gam??
Xenosaga Episode III.
still the best re game
>bad graphics
Blocky doesn't mean bad.

Of course they care about graphics, why do you think they keep buying games like CoD?
They want to see the new super realistic explosions and the mega advanced ambient occlusion on the guns.
CoD is practically an old man franchise now lol, people under 25 don't buy 70 dollar games with snoop dogg in them
>Of course they care about graphics, why do you think they keep buying games like CoD?

As a millennial, I don't give a shit about graphics. Aesthetic and atmosphere are far more important

/s/are the grass/see the grass/
I regularly play morrowind completely vanilla. No open MW. max resolution of 1600 × 1200.
It's comfy.
>despite
because
i am confused about the wording. are they implying that old games are bad because they have worse graphics?
>despite
>bad
Good bait or dumb zoomer.
best thread on Ganker
i play new games with old graphics
