from this image from a gameplay perspective probably SMTV Persona is way to gated and Soul Hackers is just simply not as good gameplay wise, Storywise P5 stands above both the others but only if you can deal qith highschool tier shit writing and then Soul hackers after SMTV really shit the bed in the Storytelling department.
>control 12 characters at once >tactical grid movement means you have to build a team around combat AND mobility >hand-crafted encounters >NG+ rewards
tbh will never be topped, those games are some of the most addicting shit I have ever played
Best story - DDS 1 and 2
Best gameplay - SMT V
Best comfy factor - Soul Hackers
A few years ago, one anon recommend me The Lost Child because I said I love SH. Anon, if you are alive and in this thread, thanks again. This was one of the rare situations when Ganker did not recommend shit.
Unironically Devil Survivor. 1 for the kino story and 2 for the combat also frick Polaris bullshit boss fight with 3 phases and no way to replenish your MP.
You guessed it. I just want people who like SMT but never played Imagine to play it. Even if they don't like MMOs they'll still like it.
i really enjoyed imagine. i miss reimagine a lot, was doing a ueno WC when it got shut down
Dude I spent so much time in ReImagine with other Ganker anons. Last thing I remember doing before the server got shut down was collecting demon DCMs and almost getting Pallas Athena. I'm planning on making a /vm/ thread when the server launches on the 20th.
I'm not good at giving quick rundowns but I'll try. Do you like SMT games with a large demon roster? Imagine has that plus its own exclusive demons not released in any other SMT game. Does OST play an important part for you in games? Imagine is developed by CAVE which are known for creating top-tier vidya music. Do you like class customization variety? Imagine can get pretty autistic with how you build your class and crafting. Even the demon stat building can be autistic. The game also becomes so cryptic at times that needing a wiki open in another tab is needed. It almost takes you back to how older MMOs were when you couldn't just find all the information you need through 5 minute youtube videos. You have to look at a wiki or ask around or find out yourself. The multiplayer aspect can also be fun when you're running different types of dungeons with each other or group demon fusing, and PvP. If you want an idea of what I'm talking about here's a wiki for the game.

SMT1's atmosphere and influence on the series is unparalleled. I hope for it's sake that it never gets remade for the modern audiences or ported to modern consoles.
SMT? I'd say Nocturne or DS1 purely for their atmospheres
Soul Hackers 2 is probably the game I hated the most this year. It felt like a tech demo and when you think the game is about to pick up the pace and the stakes will be high it just... ends
Soul Hackers 2 sucked so fricking bad holy shit, I didn't believe when people told me it was bad and played it anyway but it was really, really bad
Good thing I got it on gamepass so I didn't spend money on it
Dreadfully dull and tedious. Every location is boring except the final dungeon which isn't that good even. All characterization is in side content and the Soul Matrix is even worse than the story missions. Combat is serviceable I guess. Bought it for 15 dollars and it was still a mistake but a mistake I wanted to see for myself. Did the same thing with Left Alive.
Tokyo Xanadu
Digital Devil Saga
>she gets arrested because both Nahobino and Joker are minors
>Joker already fricked his teacher
>Captcha: SMTXXX
sounds like a Chaos route alright
Strange Journey
Soul hackers 2.
Play Digimon cyber sleuth instead . much better game
Wrong.
Soul Hackers 1
Nope, but it's definitely underrated.
Not much better, but definitely better.
Synchronicity
that green girl from soul hacker 2 is so fricking ugly holy shit
Nocturne. Redditor contrarians will say otherwise, but the rest just aren’t as good.
P5R, P2EP, P4G, DDS2, SMT3, SJ, DS:O, 4 and DDS are the absolute best.
from this image from a gameplay perspective probably SMTV Persona is way to gated and Soul Hackers is just simply not as good gameplay wise, Storywise P5 stands above both the others but only if you can deal qith highschool tier shit writing and then Soul hackers after SMTV really shit the bed in the Storytelling department.
Tokyo Mirage Sessions.
Overall either Nocturne or Strange Journey.
IV:A has the best combat.
V has the best fusion.
II has the best story.
Shin Megami Tensei II
I like Nocturne best.
Artificial Dream in Arcadia
Raidou 2
Probably Nocturne or Devil Survivor overall, V for combat, DDS1 or Raidou 2 for atmosphere, SMT1 for kino, SJ for dungeon crawling.
Actually Freedom is the best ending.
>People still denying that Nocturne is the most creatively unique and interesting SMT game and Atlus could never one up it.
Top kek as if debuffing matador is the racist gatekeep you pretend it is
Devil Survivor baybeeeeeeeee
>control 12 characters at once
>tactical grid movement means you have to build a team around combat AND mobility
>hand-crafted encounters
>NG+ rewards
tbh will never be topped, those games are some of the most addicting shit I have ever played
>still no Devil survivor 3 for switch
wtf atlus
Nobody liked the Devil Survivor anime so now you get Persona spinoffs instead
Best story - DDS 1 and 2
Best gameplay - SMT V
Best comfy factor - Soul Hackers

>Digital Devil Saga
Persona and ONLY Persona. Grimdark/incomplete games are not fun or entertaining. I've always hated SMT.
SMT 2, Nocturne or Soul Hackers.
>strange journey
The combat is too passive and defensive in that game. I don’t like it.
devil survivor overclocked
Unironically Devil Survivor. 1 for the kino story and 2 for the combat also frick Polaris bullshit boss fight with 3 phases and no way to replenish your MP.
Imagine, the only SMT game that never gets mentioned
An anon on /smtg/ was shilling a new private server coming on the 20th so I decided I'll try it out. Maybe you're the anon.
You guessed it. I just want people who like SMT but never played Imagine to play it. Even if they don't like MMOs they'll still like it.

Redpill me on imagine.

>there's a dating sim in the game
Nice

Strange Journeyz
Persona 5 will live rent free forever in your minds
Soul Hackers 2 sucked so fricking bad holy shit, I didn't believe when people told me it was bad and played it anyway but it was really, really bad

Chaosgays always tryna give LawCHADs a footjob to distract them long enough to backstab them. Absolutely degenerate.
>no smt iv mentioned
Disgusting, but that's to be expected from Ganker
V is the best SMT game. SJ and Raidou 2 are also cool
Devil Survivor
Devil Summoner 2
Digital Dream in Arcadia
it's called Artificial Dream in Arcadia, uncultured swine.
But true.
I’m sowwy!
Nyooooooooooooo!!!!!!
EraMegaten.
P5R and SMT IV, even though no one here will agree with me.
I agree, anon.
Daily reminder that contrarianism isn't a personality trait.
Of course I agree with you. SMT IV has the best atmosphere, along with Soul Hackers. And atmosphere is the most important thing in these games
Soul Hackers 2 and Tokyo Mirage Sessions are both good games.
Tokyo Mirage Sessions is comfy if you mute the characters voices.
Devil Survivor Overclocked
Digital Devil Saga 2. Karma rings are fantastic and frick Fatlus for not bringing them back.
