parodius or whatever the frick it's called
the announcer's voice is cute and it's a cute game and it's easy for people to play
FPBP, but there are more Parodius games.
The one you are thinking about is Jikkyou Oshaberi Parodius, the easiest of the bunch. Parodius Da!, Gokujou Parodius and Sexy Parodius are all much harder, actually only below Gradius III.
>Parodius
>easy
None of the games in the series are easy
Jikkyou is definitely easier.
It's extremely generous with extra lives and you respawn instantly, as opposed to the typical Gradius checkpoint system.
There's only two difficult Gradius games: 3 and Life Force.
The first Gradius can frick right off
maybe some of the console ones with respawn turned on are easy, but theyre hard as frick generally
hitbox size and bullet colors arent the main weaknesses of the game. it's the obtuse, opaque rank system which required a community effort in reverse engineering just so a player can get a clear with consistency. its a mechanic used to nickel and dime players in the arcade that somehow got twisted into the best game design evar1!1
use type B 2-3-5-1 thats what i did
its good but mostly a boss rush. scoring is a bit degenerate too. actually the later games can be kind of hit or miss
>limited run
you can make the thread better by posting your own
>you can make the thread better by posting your own
for what?
i remember what happened with shmupg
instead of collecting controllers
why dont you try to clear some games?
the rank system is an excellent mechanic which in turn generates that newer players have higher chances to enjoy more of the game, makes that good players have less pressure by knowing that a death some time before than planned doesn't mean loss but opportunity and in general causes an excellent gameplay based around intention and the maximization of the resources available, it explains the narrative of the game and is an original game where choice and getting the things you need rather than being a hoarder is encouraged, the only issue of the rank system is that the game doesn't explain how it works to force people into learning it which costed a lot of coins for the people subjected but this is the only real disadvantage of the system.
excellently good essay
thank you.
At least a few games display a visible rank meter. Off the top of my head, Ibara Kuro, DDP DFK Black Label, and M2's 2016 port of Garegga. (Jesus fricking Christ, has it really been 8 years already?)
>easy for people to play
only shmup i played that fits this criteria is jamestown or maybe raiden trad
Battle Geregga is the ultimate filter
I'm going to beat it, and I'm gonna do it on the sega saturn version at the default autofire rate and hidden ranks because I have no other choice and 35 dollars plus tax is fricking insane for the ps4 version
The PS4 version is worth every penny. Even Ketsui & Dodonpachi DOJ are easily worth $60. Basically infinite play time and a bunch of QoL that makes them superior to any emulator in existence.
You don't frick with M2 when it comes to porting Cave shmups. They know their shit.
How did M2 frick up porting MGS 1 in the master collection so bad yet, I thought they were the goats of remasters.
Different team. NTA but M2 has a special team, the Shot Triggers (STG) team, that does the shmups. They had nothing to do with MGS.
I wish Dondonpachi DOJ and Ketsui were on Steam especially Espgaluda I + II. I would give them all of my money. Sad reality is they are stuck on Switch currently not that i hate Switch i am buying games on it, but i do wish to rebuy again on Steam due to being on it more.
DOJ, Ketsui, And Espgaluda I all work perfectly on ShmupArch.
I will now look into it lol. I have been playing ESPGaluda I on PCSX.
M2 does a great job, i even found Ray'Z which is a great shmup if you like locking onto things and killing objects like in Star Fox.
Use MAME you fricking muggle.
Use mame or finalburn, via retroarch. Both cores work with run ahead so you can get rid of input lag.
>the greatest shmup
Influence wise: Touhou
Quality wise: Kinda rough, I'm just going to randomly say sonic wings since noone playing it despite of how good it is
Speaking about picre I heard the game can softlock you if you fricked up your rank management
>-wise
Why can't you use words?
dodonpachi
>how the frick do you beat this fricking game?
have a nice day at proper times, the less lives you have the more rank will drop when you die
>have a nice day
FRICK you fa-
>at proper times
carry on
So, as i said, the less lives you have when you die the more rank drops, which means enemies will fire less, have less health, etc, etc
Ideally you want to keep like 1-2 lives for significant chunk of the game by killing yourself before getting extend
At certain point you want to stop doing this and start accumulating lives for late game
Also only use 30hz autofire on like, second black heart
Appreciate it, what I really need to know now honestly is what fricking frequency I should set to shot button in the saturn version. r shot 1-8. no idea which one is 10hz which is apparently what I want for the majority of the game. 0 information online about it too. I fricking refuse to pay 35 dollars on my old and dying ps4 for this
I have no idea about autofire rates on saturn verion
In arcade/snoystation default is 10hz i think?
Also if you drop medal chain and dont think that you cant get another extend, avoid medals
Small medals raise rank more than big medals do
I think default is 8.6. I need like a translated manual for the saturn version. I can't believe I can't find any information on it.
I just assume this guy isn't playing for score since he's a newbie, just avoid the medals altogether if you're working on your first survival run
Just emulate the arcade version in MAME?
I actually looked into it but I couldn't easily find all the information I needed to get a rom and get it running on retroarch so I just said frick it. arcade games seem to be in a deeper layer of emulation know-how than I'm used to
MAME is not as easy to setup as the rest of the emulators sadly. I would try to look up PCSX2, Duckstation, maybe anything from Gamecube or Dolphin if the games are on there. It's much easier to use and setup.
>MAME is not as easy to setup as the rest of the emulators sadly.
That's why I use ARCADE instead. It's a fork of MAME that uses a proper PC user interface, and removes support for all non-arcade systems.
https://arcade.mameworld.info/
You download the emulator, and you download the roms. That's it.
It's no different to emulating a super nintendo.
Can you beat it WITHOUT dying?
Can YOU?
If you've actually played Garegga you'd know it's pretty much impossible without suiciding.
I've going to try! Then probably fail miserably but hey.
nobody has cleared battle garegga special 2 loop mode
Polybius
yes anon yes
HOWEVER
Not bad, but:
?si=Twpbj8YLDshdjy00

Not even saying this to be a contrarian but Battle Garegga is highly overrated and pretty dogshit. I can overlook the Toaplan-size hitbox but when enemy bullets are the same color as the fricking background and tiny in size, I draw the line.
Best shmup of all time is a tie between Doodoopachinko DOJ and 2hu EoSD.
you can change the bullet color in every port, my issue with it is I like the game, it's fun, I like the aesthetics, but I fricking hate and straight don't understand the ranking system.
I don't like games where I have to die on purpose for rank management. while I'm also trying not to shoot certain things or at certain times and avoiding some medals but definitely not ever some of these others and oh yeah try not to get hit. stressful. I like to zone out and weave through colorful bullet patterns
The rank management in garegga is plain moronic, it feels completely counterintuitive that the best way of clearing the game is to not interact with its elements (power ups and pickups) and to regularly have a nice day.
What I particularly hate about this game is having to use the secret option formations, namely homing, which is mandatory in the later levels because of how many enemies are spread out on the screen.
>Doodoopachinko DOJ
Please don't give 2024 Cave ideas.
>enemy bullets are the same color as the fricking background and tiny in size, I draw the line
In the saturn port, you can change the colour of them so they stand out.
>Doodoopachinko
i have to admit i smirked
but yeah ddp is the best.
embidoment of scarlet devil is nowhere near as good. i do like it a lot. it was my first 2hu. or maybe perfect cherry blossom. not sure. but one of those two.
really fricking good game.
so is crimzon clover.
it's probably a net negative, but...im glad i found him in some Ganker or /vr/ thread.
interesting spot behind the boss at teh start lol.
I found that electric underground gay's youtube channel and picked up daioujou and got hooked. there's something really different in the genre I must've been craving.
Congrats now you are part of the cult.
legit Mork saved me from dropping vidya entirely, I was a moron for ignoring arcade style games my entire life
Can agree on your Spoiler there. No joke i feel the same way. Arcades remind us of what Video Games could be today if it were not paid for by Government or indirectly promoted by AAA corporation.
I have been heavily getting into Shmups and Fighting Games because of it. With KOFXIII, Blazblue Centralfiction, Melty Blood Type Lumina and Persona 4 Ultimax, Nitroplus Blasterz Heroines Infinite Duel on Fighting. Deathsmiles I + II, Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid Burst Forth!! Choro-gonBreath, Mushihimesama, Cotton Rock'N'Roll, Caladrius Blaze for Shmups. Definitely looking into more Shmups and Fighting Games of course, but it's just a good example of how Gaming is not dead, but it's just more obscure now.
Good stuff anon, I havent expanded to fighting much yet other than trying to learn some DoA.
I also got into pinball, shit is so fun when you realize its not just about not letting the ball drain and flipping at random but there are actual objectives and minigames inside the game, a getting the hard shot you wanted makes the adrenaline pump.
DOA 6 from what i have seen is solid. I will tell you to play those games i mentioned because they are very simple to pull off, as long as you understand
1.half circle on the joystick and a face button
2. Dodge Roll and block
3. Using R2 or L2 and half circle movements on joystick
4. R2 and L2 as shortcuts for certain specials
you are golden in these fighting games. As for Pinball i will tell you to play Senran Kagura Peach Ball. It is highly underrated and i can not believe many have slept on it. Sure it's two pinball boards, but there is tons of customization on what to put on the boards themselves and different ball styles that can effect play with Yin and Yang balls.
Here is some gameplay footage.
The spirit of arcade games (short, difficult, action games with focus almost entirely on gameplay) lives on in a lot of roguelikes on steam.
Careful, you're going to summon the terminology schizos.
Same. It gets you fricking pumped and in the zone, and the focus is on gameplay. It's so over for AAA quicktime event movie games
Same and now i'm a mid-tier player with adhd brain and zero patience for any form of dialogue or padding, or maybe it was the other way around and I have naturally gravitated toward the genre because of how impatient i've become.
Can agree, I just get tired of games not being interesting enough in combat or mechanics to get through the game and using story as an excuse to finish through it. Bullet Hell just takes you back to a time when Gameplay and good game design mattered as a whole. Only good gameplay centric game with a great story i finished was the Xenoblade Chronicles series.
He does advertise good games but is a weird gay in regards to Deathsmiles because of the e-girl advertising.
>man with children is not comfortable with e-girl
Wow shocker, and I dont recall he shaming people for it or anything like others do.
He kind of indirectly did on that comment. I mean if he hates it fine, but no need to be a moralgay about certain things especially when it does not effect him at all. Other than that he is a good youtuber.
ZUN himself started putting boobs in his characters soon after having kids
>americans are scared of drawings
Some people just won't like what you like. No amount of argument will make them budge.
Deathsmiles is his favorite HORI shmup, so it's not like he holds the e-girl thing against anyone or the game that much. To me that comment felt more like a half hearted ass cover from your typical Twatter troony anties, which I don't hold against him.
I can see it from that POV so i will take that back then. He is a great youtuber and he is extremely helpful for how to play Shmups and to find some obscure hits. Crimzon Clover was one of the more interesting hits he definitely got me into.
Yeah me too except don’t have DOJ yet. I did get DDP Resurrection, Crimzon Clover and Gunvein though. Will eventually import DOJ I hear nothing but great stuff about it.
Huh, maybe Ganker finding out about MSX-man was a good thing after all. Nice to see you guys having fun and finding out about these games!
He is still shilling wanted dead for some reason
Don't engage with the resident schizo, he's finally here.
>for some reason
Probably because he likes it?
Recently he said the game now sucks due to an update which changed things to be in line with what jurnos wanted
Well shit
Stupid cuck devs
Where did he say that? First I'm hearing about that.
Not that anon but mark is about to stream wanted dead with he combat update and give his opinion so just get over there
Just jumped into the stream and he's pretty much positive over the changes overall, hi biggest grievance is that they should've added more content like costumes and a mission mode.
Yeah I'm the guy who posted earlier, I saw him on some other podcast a few weeks ago talking about it but I guess they are actually fixing the game now
War against destiny
>and how the frick do you beat this fricking game?
Get those point medals.
Do not hold the fire button like a moron.
Milk boss parts and kill it once they're destroyed
You get lives at 1 million points each
Avoid getting power-ups once your ship gets fully powered up.
Skip power-ups to unlock hidden formations (read a guide)
And most importantly, die or do a kamikaze attack on a boss. Dying causes your ship to fire some shrapnel at enemies or bosses. Dying also decreases the difficulty, which is important.
Woops, you just accidentally picked up a small shot power up, the game will now become impossible, better luck next time!
>Shot SPECIAL Level Up!!
>They do this in Garegga & Batrider
Mushihimesama. Here is a clear by my favorite shmup player.
?si=PgrHEXR_dM5JdAaJ
Just got my 1cc today, I've managed to 1cc a couple of shmups before but this was my first real challenge
Not sure what I'm gonna go for next now, might a non cave game next
Feels good
Go with Deathsmiles I + II trust me. It will be slightly different from what you are used to and it does change things up a bit. DS II is 3D and DS I is 2D, both are Horizontal shooters.
the one I 1cc'd before mushi was DS 1, before that it was just a couple of touhos, I really loved the game and want to play 2 at some point but since I already have 1, the only way to get it on steam is still to get the bundle with 1 and 2 for some moronic reason
There is a good reason it's because DS I + II collection does have gameplay balances for DS I and there is even the Gothic Mahou Otome DLC that does add 8 new characters and rearranged stuff.
One other game i can kind of recommend that is something short but also Touhou like nothing challenging but just a fun experience is Maid Dragon Choro-Gon
oh I had no idea about that, I just got a Deathsmiles + Mushihime + Dodonpachi bundle for really cheap on a steam sale, I didn't know it was a different version from the I+II bundle
thanks for the recommendation, I'll check it out!
The bundle version of DS1 also has more arcade accurate slowdown compared to the original Steam release.
We have Mushihimesama at home. And it's pretty good too.
https://xxgameroom.itch.io/edens-aegis
Einhander is my favorite, but I also really like R-Type 3, and Steel Empire's nice as well.
Hellsinker is the giga brain filter
Casual game
Stacking iframe isn't that hard
Mushihimisama, R-Type Delta, Ikaruga, ZeroRanger, DoDonPachi Dai-ou-Jou, Battle Garrega, G-Darius
You beat Garrega by controlling your rank. only upgrade your shot once (by using the big power-up) and only get two options. Don't ever pick up the small shot power ups. Die at the end of the first level. Don't just hold down the shot button if you can avoid it. shooting increases rank. be judicious.
Play ZeroRanger.
I did I am currently being filtered by it.
Just use type-b and ez mode unlocked
Why doest this game not tell you that if you keep shooting an already defeated enemy it will glow and give you double the points?
Its a modern game it has no excuse, explain all your mechanics to me you butthole devs
Its my favorite, but I'm also dogshit and noob when it comes to shmups. Zeroranger was hard enough but still manageable. I tried Ikaruga after it and holy jesus, it has been a while since I got filtered this hard.
I’m also dog shit, I’ll probably never properly beat Ikaruga but even just playing it is a treat, fricking mesmerizing and great tunes. Level 3 is where I start getting filtered.
Btw does anyone else see bullet patterns when they close their eyes after playing too long?
no but sometimes I unfocus my eyes and play better
Ikaruga is very unconventional for a shmup and extremely difficult so don't feel too bad if you can't clear it.
>Btw does anyone else see bullet patterns when they close their eyes after playing too long?
This happens to me in my dreams when I play long sessions of any game that has lots of repetitions like puzzle games such as tetris, magical drop, or puyopuyo.
If it's not sideview I don't care
If it's not Konami I don't care
If it wasn't released pre-1994 I don't care
i always thought biohazard battle was the best, but its a little too easy
good sound track and it looks pretty
Your favorite is the greatest anon
Deathsmiles I & II anything CAVE Related worth purchasing because of the fact it influenced Touhou and also the music scoring mechanics are cool. Especially Espgaluda and Mushihimesama
?si=9U9LRUo5DGox5AP9
is touhou actually good or is it just the game in the genre people actually play today?
it's earnestly made to the highest standard the guy can put out. ZUN makes interesting, pretty bullet patterns and when his music is on, it's glorious. it's been a while since he was on imo so it's alright to pretty good. all in all worth the time. but they are not like garegga at all
Its actually good, but it has a focus on bosses not so much on the stages.
They're okay given that they're cranked out by one guy for the most part. Though later entries are starting to fall off in overall quality, but that's inevitable when there's a wife and kids in the picture now.
I am the anon you responded to. I would say absolutely, Touhou is one of the greatest Shmup series ever and it deserves it's spot up there with CAVE games. I would recommend Phantasmogoria Of Flower View, and Unfinished Dream Of All Living Ghost easily. Unfinished Dream Of All Living Ghost is the one i started with before Flower View and it makes a good transition into other Shmups.
It's pretty decent for the most part although some patterns are absolute artificial difficulty bullshit.
It's okay, touhou is like reading bedtime story, it's not great but still fun
It's good but the focus is a bit different from CAVE games or traditional shmups
I like it because the patterns are pretty and the structure makes stuff easier to memorize, but this seems to also be what some people into it hate about it
They're also easy to get into (start with 6/7/8) and the music is great
>touhou 6 runs at insane speeds on windows 10
Help

Familiars don't spawn bullets if you get close to them. Bullet Sealing
Its because the game uses CPU and modern computers have stronger than meant for that game CPUs to render the game with, not only that...
There's no frame locker, Zun dun frickd uppo.
Just react faster bro
Too slow for my taste
Coomer nonsense
It's okay. Some of the older games are great but a lot of the newer ones aren't good. ZUN should take. A break before he ends up in a loop of releasing yearly slop.

Twinkle Star Sprites La Petite Princesse can be played on PCSX2 and also the original Twinkle Star Sprites is on Steam. It's a great PVP schmup similar to Puyo Puyo.
Those characters look fricking adorable, thanks for sharing.
No problem, i will always share games that are truly underrated and under the radar.

and
Darius music is underrated, it's very odd jazz and interesting synths. Zuntata is a great artist.
For me it's
?si=8JwYyoA6v_GIE8C8
For years this was at the top of several Japanese top 100 boss themes lists and is still one of the greatest of all time. Hearing this blaring on a real arcade cabinet is borderline transcendental.
Damn, I never seen a physical Dariusburst cab before
It's a treat, very immersive and loud
ZUNTATA is the group name of the Taito Sound Team/Band. And yes their music is fricking awesome. Kaiser Knuckle is quite good.
Great soundtrack, CAVE games are just high up there. Also here is Gothic wa Mahou Otome Arranged for Deathsmiles II + I,

Would recommend DLC is worth it for that alone.
Imagine a world where Orange juice still makes games
that would be like
uhhh
2015? Mixed juice?
It's been a while haha
Has it been almost a decade?
How are the Orange Juice Bullet Hell games?
they made a bunch, some more traditional vertical shooters, they are all pretty decent but the ones I liked the most by far were OG Suguri and Sora, those feel more like traditional 2D action games with dashing around and attacking from close range
I recently picked up some of the Bitwave Toaplan ports ( Truxton 1+2 and Batsugun) and I'm pleasantly surprised by how smooth and snappy the experience is. It's barebones yes, but that actually comes as part of the charm. It just works.
I'm still bad at the though.
4th Gear and Unstopping feel incomplete if played by themselves.
[Remove]
A lot of Ikargua music makes me tear up, but chapter's track has moments where I actually cry.
I like chapter 5's better
how's gunvein?
Feels like a legit CAVE game, pretty fricking fantastic with an amazing tutorial that's useful for the entire genre rather than just that game alone.
bro your secret route?
VTF- INO's been practicing his Ikaruga double plays again, those are fun to watch.
One of the best soundtracks in all of shmups
I fricking LOVE the music from this game and most shootem ups
insane sound tracks
The ground boss theme is amazing.
I love this guy's theme, it really caught me off-guard when I accidentally met him for the first time, batrider is such a fun game, the levels are shorter than in garegga so it's less frustrating when you lose and you can actually see the fricking bullets.
My favorite is Radiant Silvergun
mad respekt
Non-shmup player here. Would you help me recall a forgotten game? It was a shmup I played once in an arcade back in the 90s, so it had to have a U.S. release. There's not a lot to go on about it aside from that it had a 2p mode and a selection of ships. One of the ship's bomb had it fly up high toward the perspective, then dropping bombs. Another ship's bomb briefly transformed it into a giant mech (Though I recall it having a human face) which alternated swinging a pair of melee weapons (One of them was a spiked mace) for the bomb's duration.
I think it's Aero Fighters 3, Blaster Keaton would be the mech.
Shit man. Thanks. I think that's it. Guess I misremembered there being spikes on the ball.
That is amazing!
Ikaruga is very easy so not really.
Post clears.
Easy to survival, but very tight scoring
Sure it is, champ. Post your double play 1CCs. Hell, post a 1CC period.
Head over to shmups.system11 and read the strategy guide, the folks there spent YEARS breaking down every aspect of the game. You need to be familiar with the rank (aka difficulty) and scoring system to succeed.
In short, suicide to lower rank and score high so you can earn more lives to suicide. Also be wary of stuff that increases rank, like increasing fire rate and collecting surplus items
t. actually 1cc'd Garegga
I started lurking that forum recently, their arcade archive thread introduced me to some hidden gems, they seem like a chill bunch.
Gonna share a list they compiled of some good arcade archive releases, might be worth looking into them, there's non-shmups here too if you're interested.
https://www.dekudeals.com/lists/hjchdy?sort=added_to_site
>shmups.system11
I have been to that site trying to understand certain game mechanics. I do hope they can write a Shmup wiki of their own just in case the site ever goes down or fades into obscurity.
Still unsurpassed.
>final battle is fighting another mech during atmospheric re-entry
One of the most amazing boss fights I've ever seen (and the boss is hard as frick)
Vertical or horizontal?
I prefer vertical but still enjoy some horizontal shooters.
Horizontal for me. I like it when you have to also navigate stage hazards, although they aren't as immediate as vertical shooters.
Kinda wild to see Cotton make such a big come back after being dormant for so long.
Good cotton
The ports have not been great but Rock N Roll was solid and the new one coming up should be interesting.
Wasn't only the Saturn Tribute dogshit? (Thanks City Connection)
Yes I think that's the one. The
Yes Saturn one but Reboot is better but sadly it's 720p and you have to do Alt + ENTER to full screen if I remember right.
yeah probably going to grab rainbow cotton
Truthbombs
Garrega, Ibara, Pink Sweets are anti fun shmups. Only the top percentile of players can actually have fun playing these games. These are not meant for the average player and kinda why shmups died because they listened to 'pro' players and basically gatekept the bread and butter audience
I bought and played Einhander and it was pretty boring tbh. I know its le epic Square and all that bullshit but i mustve played the first 3 levels and there is no fricking music during the level. Only until you get to the boss fight so its just silence being broken by awkward beeps and boops. You basically sleep until you get to the bosses.
(you)
Garegga is fun it's just fricking moronic and built to rape your wallet to death then resurrect you and rape your wallet to death again then resurrect you and rape your wallet to death again then resurrect you and rape your wallet to death again then re
pink sweets isn't even that hard. you have a shield and infinite bombs
it only becomes hard if you bomb spam like a moron with no plan

>Only until you get to the boss fight so its just silence being broken by awkward beeps and boops. You basically sleep until you get to the bosses.
Then you must have poor ears because stage 3 and 4's atmosphere before the sub-boss is cool as frick
It's funny because Raizing's best game by far has zero rank system. Yagawa is just a homosexual who threw a bunch of convoluted rank bullshit in his games because he knew shmup fanbase is full of autistmos who will eat shit like that up
What game are you talking about?
Genuine question, I don't know much about Raizing games.
Anybody played Harmful Park?
Yeah, I did a while back when it was still in japanese, its fun, nice if you like the type of game it is
It's my first 1cc.
I fukkin love it.
Mao Mao's time stop bomb was so fun.
I like Strikers 1945, arcade version of course.
Okay. How do I get these semi nude endings?
no miss and no bomb the first loop
are these in the steam version?
If anyone wants one of these pnp games still has some at regular price. Also have the espgaluda one too. inb4 >limitedrun
>limited run
No thanks.
this is the one where you have to have a nice day in specific areas to reduce the difficulty right?
Yeah.
the more extra lives you have stocked, the faster the difficulty increases
most people will not be able to stock up on lives anyway
IIRC it's the other way around. Extra lives don't boost rank, but reduce the rank decrease on death.
Just like real life
>The reverse engineers discovered that almost everything you do in the game contributes to a 'Rank Up' counter. Every shot that you fire, every yard that you fly, every enemy that you down is given a numerical cost that reels up and up and up. For every seven frames of gameplay, for example, 22 'points' are added to the invisible gauge. The moment you ship takes off, the world around you is becoming hardier and more hostile. Enemies become more aggressive; they fire at a quicker rate, their bullets travel with greater velocity, and in tighter formations of buckshot. Foes become more resilient. The items that they drop tumble down the screen at greater speed, making them harder to catch. Grab everything and shoot everyone without dying and the game Ranks Up so quickly that, by the time you each its fifth stage, nobody could survive.
Interesting...
Garegga is one of those wonderful intersections between the money grubbing part of arcade design and the need to make something that is still engaging to players.
I'm genuinely curious how much was intentional and how much was just evolution of the systems presented to players. Regardless, Yagawa built a pretty good career off it.
all of it is intentional for the game message and to make it have sense, the issue is that he didn't explained or shown how it works so operators won money.
This game is really fricking evil.
Well, it's about singlehandedly stopping an unstoppable war machine, which naturally gets harder and harder...Kinda ludokino when you think about it...
Speaking of ludokino, some madman finally managed defeat Inbachi, the TLB of SDOJ (xbox 360), in a real run, it was undefeated for 12 years.

Putting in a recommendation for RefRain Prism Memories. If you wish to have the feeling of being transported to the past with some Frutiger Aesthetics and some interesting mechanics where you have to focus on being offensive than defensive then this is the one for you.
Why yes, I own the Ikaruga vinyl, the only official release of the OST. How could you tell?
This game and its music are pretty good, the aesthetic is great.

OP here, kys homosexual!
I 1CC'd DOJ on super easy last week and was proud of myself. Cry about it some more.
ZeroRanger is the only one that I've bothered to 1cc and it was great, most other shmups I've played have some serious problems with visibility and just let you credit feed with the only thing penalized being score
I enjoy the gremlin game.
souce?
assault android cactus
You keep putting quarters in until you beat it. Hard to believe anybody complains about dlc when this was the standard model in the beginning.
If you don't 1CC then you haven't beat it, simple as. Maybe you'd get away by claiming you beat an arcade shmup with an extremely low amount of continues like 5 or less, but definitely not more than that, at that point you're just cheating.
>shmups are now impossible to talk about onGanker because of one homosexual who infests every thread, adds nothing to the discussion, and calls everyone a shitter
All you have to do is ignore that scizo troony, it's that easy.

This game has no business being so good and sweet, the soundtrack is cool and the gameplay gimmicks are fun. Lifebar shmups tend to be interesting sometimes.
Wait! Since I am here what is everyone’s opinion on Devil Engine Complete Edition it looks good but no one talks about it at all.
Original version was highly regarded, but the DLC was delayed for several years due to Dangen being absolute dogshit publishers and the devs wanting to get the rights to their game back from them. Then after the devs won the lawsuit and got their game back the artist and musician (two brothers) went full schizo on the programmer and game designer over the rights, that took a while to sort out as well, by the time everything got settled everyone kind of forgot about it. The Devil Engine programmer then went on to make Slave Zero X.
>everyone kind of forgot about it.
Yeah that’s the thing that is keeping me from getting it, usually good games have some sort of following but not this game.
I suspect it has something to do with the devs themselves (if I'm remembering right) encouraging everyone to not get the game to avoid giving Dangen money, but the whole ordeal taking so long to resolve pretty much lead to the last thing the public talking about in regards to it being "don't buy this game because a shady publisher stole it from innocent indie devs", which pretty much snowballed into more people avoiding it entirely.
>general shmup thread not up entirely of angry spurg arguments
holy shit
It's pretty comfy, too bad the resident schizo troony is here and desperately trying to ruin it.
>ruin it.
You can't ruin what's already ruined

They sorted that out years ago.
What controller do you guys use?
I'm trying to find the one i'm most comfortable with between an xbox, sega saturn, snes or keyboard.
I just use a Switch Pro controller both for the Switch and PC.
>but isn't the D-Pad horrible
I have those special edition ones that sorted out the issues, it's fine.
The sega saturn one has the best dpad imo, easier diagonal movements
I bought one of these recently on a whim and I love it
Always struggled with d-pads but this one is both functional and comfortable, hope it lasts and doesn't wear down
It's pretty cheap too
I like Eschatos and Ginga Force a lot
i like what little of shmups i've played but i feel i can't get myself to commit to going all the way and even doing 1CCs, let alone completing the game on the hardest difficulty
i got pretty close to finishing zero ranger but that final fight is tough on me and having to start from 0 if you fail kinda kills my motivation
Yeah, it's why I can't play the genre anymore either. Gitting gud at shmups is such an exercise in abject repetition and muscle memory routines that I just get bored of eating and constantly restarting from scratch.
I'm actually having a lot of fun grinding out stage practice for a dodonpachi run. More fun than repeating the first 3 stages endlessly. It's certainly not for everyone though.
I still can't clear this piece of shit game I fricking hate it, I don't know why it's so fricking hard for me even though I managed to clear other games like mushi original or some touhou games in normal, i'm still stuck at stage 5.
Many people say the game is an introduction to the genre but I find it super hard.
I found myself improving when i just focused on 1 level at a time. Would 1cc level 1, then load up to start from level 2 and try and try again till i beat it 1cc. I would learn that way and would not learn at all trying to beat the levels on a sequential basis like going from level 1 thru 4. Because now you have 3 or 4 levels to memorize instead of focusing and getting good on just 1
Yeah, but that's cheating and not legitimately getting good at the game.
If you dont train with savestates you are moronic
you learn that way then once you mastered all the levels you put that practice to use doing it in sequential order. Sorry if that didnt come across, thought it was obvious
I remember briefly playing some shmup in PS2 like two decades ago but aside from it being a space themed one I don't recall anything else from it
Sidescroller? Vertical scroller? Any gimmicks?
vertical
it was akin to Raiden 3 but iirc it was still using sprites instead of 3D models
might be this, i recall it being terrible despite being developed by treasure
Gradius V? Silpheed? there wasn't many western released shumps on the PS2 so it had to be at least one of them unless you imported or emulated it
my favorite is Darius Gaiden on Sega Saturn. you can play 2 player co-op through the campaign, and the visuals/powerups are cool.
hard but fun game.

Yeah it's okay. I went and completed the entire CS mode and it took a while. It does get repetitive after a while though.

There's a new Tatsujin coming out, but it's a PS5 exclusive. Can someone tell me what the frick were they thinking?
Alright, which one of you homosexuals watched Jimmy Mcgee's vid. on SHMUPS? <.<
What are some shmups with actual dark/bittersweet stories? I can't remember the name (JP indie shmup I think) where your pilot dies during the final boss, and the epilogue is the AI of your ship going on autopilot to hunt down the rest of the boss weapons while causing genocide as collateral damage as it shot freakin laser beams everywhere. It's the one where your ship had a Phoenix form or whatever it was called. I want to say Crimzon Clover but I don't remember the plot to that.
All 3 DOJ dolls have bad endings
One is infected by a virus and loses her brain, her last moments being remembering when she was human
Another just gets taken away by the goverment and its dissected dead, although she still reunites with the player in digimon form
Another just kills the player because frick you for beating the game

RefleX, 2nd of the Alltynex Trilogy. A pretty good shmup and the only one I 1cc'd. Its a good beginner shmup since you have a reflective shield.
Is Reflex what I was thinking of? I thought of that trilogy but all I could remember was the little girl's brain being scooped out and put in the floating satellite laser.
It is. The part where the pilot died is the 2nd to the last stage. You got an infinite shield gauge but becomes a 1 hit wonder instead of the usual 6 hits before dying.
That one's probably Kamui, but all of those Alltynex games are really good.

Flame Zapper Kotsujin
Flame Zapper has a nice OST, wish it got a modern port so I don't have to get the PC98 emulator running to play it.
If it does then I hope it works unlike Cho Ren Sha. I haven't been able to play it in years because the music is slowed down for some reason.
CRS works fine for me, did you grab the Windows 10 updated version from the dev's site?
Yeah but I think the problem is I'm on Windows 11.
Idk then, try seeing if changing your PC audio to 48000 hz fixes it.
I didn't know how to do that so I tried getting the game again and now it works perfectly. I guess I just had to download it better. Thanks anon. I'm one happy camper right now.
It seems I forgot how to kill the final boss without bombs.
Nice, enjoy anon.
>roommate found my shmup music folder
Let's see Paul Allen's music folder.
What's the last shmup you cleared?
Hazelnut Hex. Great gameplay and music, cool artstyle, funny story. Only the difficulty could be higher.
This game's colors are way too bright for me, it actually hurt my eyes.
You can dim the background. It's actually very easy on the eyes.

Literally what the FRICK was wrong with that place? Everyone was fricking insane in it.
Where did those people even go? Because they dont post on Ganker threads other than the post clear shitter schizo
Was it just a hangout for discord troons?
I don't even know what that is but my guess is shmup enthusiasts are a small cult like group that are mostly all fricking insane.
It was a few cliques of discord schizos yes, and they were using the general as a drama battleground and for random off-topic sperging.
>random off-topic sperging
Sort of like the 2hu larper troons who show up in proper shmup threads 90% of the time?
That still used models. I'm trying to think of something to help
in his search. The only Raiden-likes that immediately come to mind is XII Stag and Trizeal, though the former has a short-range attack gimmick akin to Psyvariar and the latter used 3D models.
>Was it just a hangout for discord troons?
I mean yeah, people there are the same attention seekers from discord
play linley shmups

I wish there were more FOSS shmups around. Of course there are the Kenta Cho games, but I think this particular genre is open to be explored further.

Literally the most israeli and evil game ever made. Reinforced by the fact that one of the ships is simply a menorah
the game rewards not doing usury so it isn't israeli, israeli israelite.
garegga is more buddhist and christian than anything, use what you have respect what others have and don't be greedy.
>Literally the most israeli and evil game ever made.
Literally the opposite. Garegga punishes you for hoarding. Take only what you need. You really want to hold down the fire button for the entire game and grab all those power-ups? Better be able to back it up with skill.
It's israeli because of all the hidden systems no one in the arcade is ever figuring out.
So Mortal Kombat fatalities are israeli?
those systems were unironically easy to understand after seeing that the game got easier on death and by people seeing that by picking less items they survived more, garegga got 1cc a month after thanks to that.
a lot of rank games existed before, it's just that the batshit weird way of playing is something which was made by forcing operators demand rather than anything else, even with that it's a really fair game which unironically the game explains even if subtly when you recognize that the game gets a lot harder after picking a lot of power items or when you see the game marginally change after not doing it, most people took a week to see the crux for that and it got finished at the month.
it's niche but unironically is just weird and not explained rather than evil or hidden.
which was made to be subtle by operators demand*
the game is totally intended, yagawa programmed garegga like it was intentionally, the not explaining part comes from operators.
change a lot after not doing it*
Ketsui.
The last shmup I played was Graze Counter GM, of which the dev accidentally put my username twice in the backer credits much to my amusement.
fire should be a toggle in shmups instead of having to hold it the entire game
homie just be happy that auto-fire even became standard
I have put nearly 60 hours into DOJ and still cannot consistently get to stage 4. It’s grinding me down. Only games I’ve cleared are Touhou 8 Normal and DFK with Type B-Strong. I fear I may just be too dogshit.
You should be playing black label. Dont try to play white label first, its much more difficult.
I have been unfortunately…my real problem is the god damn stage 2 boss giving me trouble but when I practice I always do it flawlessly. That and the section with the turrets at the end of stage 3 that cancel bullets with the little guys you have to stream. I’m doomed to be a shitter.
Just play something easier, like Ketsui, Espgaluda 1, Dangun Feveron, and Deathsmiles. Ain't no shame in it. They're also nice escapes from Cave's usual chain-em-ups. (though admittedly there are certain optimal routes for these, like with any shmup, but at least you don't have to reset the whole game just for killing an enemy too early, like in DDP)
Yeah I’m just starting to get a bit frustrated with how autistic you have to be with DOJ. It’s such a ball breaker of a game and more end heavy than other CAVE games I’ve played so far. Might just drop it for a while and give Batsugun my full attention, I’ve come pretty close to getting the 1CC despite barely practicing it.
>give Batsugun my full attention, I’ve come pretty close to getting the 1CC despite barely practicing it.
Nice. Good luck with that, Batsugun filters me hard by the third stage. Still more fun than DDP, though. I'd also recommend Grind Stormer (aka V-V), it has rank that kicks in if you haven't died for a few stages. (invisible rank, though at higher ranks, it becomes proto-bullet-hell)
>but when I practice I always do it flawlessly
I guess you get nervous, that can be hard to get under control.
if you bought the M2 port just try the other modes like arranges, keep it up, as long as its fun.
Have you cleared other games before? DOJ is one of the hardest shmups ever.
Only Touhou 8, DDP DFK, and recently Graze Counter GM which I forgot cause it was super easy. I figured I would have a hard time but not THIS hard, although to be fair the games I’ve played may have given be some bad fundamentals due to having autobomb or similar mechanics.
I definitely need to check out V-V, I like the feeling of those late Toaplan games with IKD’s influence a lot.
19XX War Against Destiny
Thunder Force 4 & 5.
Raycrisis is the best one
Thoughts on this masterpiece?
one of the best cave games.
save discomeeeen
Arguably Cave's most fun shmup. The "FM Arrange" version of the soundtrack in M2's port is pure sex for the ears.
Needs an autofire button.
The bullet speed and ship movement speed makes the game unironically too fast for me. I can't react to shit.
Which SHMUP girls would you FRICK the BRAINS out of?
The girls from Deathsmiles
Casper
I want to examine the contents of her skirt.
Here you go.
No. That's a puzzle game. Radiant Silvergun is better. Both are good, just not the best representation of the genre. As far as bests go:
Side-scrolling -- Gradius Gaiden, R-Type Delta, or Einhander
Side-scrolling, bullet-hell -- Deathsmiles or Akai Katana
Top-down, non-bullet hell -- Raiden, M.U.S.H.A., RayForce, or Soldier Blade
Top-down, bullet-hell -- Mars Matrix or Ketsui
These aren't even my favorites. My #1 is Espgaluda 1. But I recognize it's not as important as these other ones.
>No. That's a puzzle game.
So, any shmup is a puzzle game, since you can route them
Literally keep getting 3 of a kind, can do it with black or white enemies (as opposed to needing to keep Red going in Silvergun except for very rare moments of getting red->blue->yellow for those massive score bonuses), features giant blocks, even. Definitely a puzzle game thinly-veiled as a shmup.
Without going tool-assisted / using rewinds? Any human being would need to tactically suicide, at least before bosses spawning in. Especially since the game even punishes you for having more than 2 lives.
>game even punishes you for having more than 2 lives
Shame, I guess I'll be the first to achieve a no-death run or at least die trying.
Good luck with that, be sure to save a replay so people will believe you. (especially that "POST CLEARS" schizo homosexual who frequents shmup threads)
it's possible but it requires that you live underpowered for most of the game and firing as minimum as possible: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZXnYqetaSM
good luck and be careful.
Ikaruga scoring is not only about the chain. Even though it is a big part of the score, there are some other factors that play an important role for the score. Since the chains per level are not that much, a measure to differentiate the scoring more is eating bullets and the boss timer, this implies that you not only have to perfectly chain the levels, you also have to optimize as much as possible these two mechanics, and that in stage 4 is a nightmare. Not to mention sections where you have to destroy enemies quickly to get bonus formations later on, and that the fricking midboss from stage 3 is getting more optimized by the year. Calling it a puzzle game is ridiculous
t. Someone who S++'d some stages
one question. is ikaruga memory based?
i say that yes.
on most games recovery is feasible, you are talking about the hard as balls gradius 3 which was intended to be a frick you to players by people saying that gradius 2 was too easy.
I got a question for you; which action games doesn't?
i know and it's true, ikaruga is more memo but i was making the meme.
>Especially since the game even punishes you for having more than 2 lives.
Wait, what do you mean by that?
In what way exactly?
the more lives you have the less dying lowers your rank
Oh, that.
I was starting to worry that it increases faster as well.
>Because it has colors in it it's a puzzle game
Next you're going to tell me dodonpachi is a puzzle game because of the bees
>No. That's a puzzle game.
it's obviously a shooter you're just moronic
It's literally a puzzle game thinly veiled as a shmup, which I already said in
. But whatever, I'm autistic along with 90% of this shit site, I have no problem with having to repeat myself.
Oh ok sorry I ddin't know. I'm not autistic, I'm normal. So there was probably a miscommunication that was your fault. It's ok though, no big, don't worry about it.
ikaruga can be played completely ignoring the match 3
radiant silvergun ties your weapon upgrades to not shooting enemies in a shooting game
>ikaruga can be played completely ignoring the match 3
Then it's pretty bare-bones for a shmup. You also won't gain extra lives since you need to score high for those.
>not shooting enemies in a shooting game
So, like a Yagawa game, then?
kills don't increase rank
That FRICKING ass.
cute
why do you want to know this information?
Cute girls make me interested in trying games.
Type-B gorl
Damn, beat me to it.
You can have the sister
Her breasts are rather large.
I am now interested in Sengoku Blade. How fun is it?
Its fun and short but also full of cheapshots, get ready to get jumpscared by bullets that travel stupid fast.
Also the last two stages tell you to go frick yourself if you continue by making you do them from the start (similar to SNES Aero Fighters) so practicing this game is a pain, but Koyori's breasts are a good companion.
this
Wow very flat very nice.
Somebody beat me to Koyori so i'll post the next best thing: Kaoru Yamazaki from Pulstar
Also her sister from Blazing Star Naomi Yamazaki can get this dick in her (bigger) breasts too
Ikaruga
Is it possible to beat without dying? Or do I really have to "tactically suicide"?
What a weird fricking genre, apparently the best ones are either the ones where you can't die even once because recovery is near impossible or the ones where you have to sacrifice extra lives and not shoot at enemies because the game would become too hard.
Thoughts of this kino?
The fan music remake is also great
There's also Cygni, a great modernized shmup, can't wait for the full release because I played the shit out of the demo.
Aleste Branch was a collective allucination
I can't do it, I'll never beat this game.
It's just too hard, man...
ENTER
idk I just circled back to ikaruga after buying it a long time ago and later getting into the genre and it's blowing me away. maybe it does deserve the praise
music is topnotch, really makes you feel the journey of trying to save humanity and then dying (but succeeding and being reincarnated as a bird or some shit).

You call someone a schizo for thinking people should actually play and beat games they are discussing? What kind of moronic logic is that? If you have never cleared a game, then you should either be brand new in the genre working on your first clear or fricking out of the thread because you have nothing to contribute aside from zero effort drivel (like your post here)
Its 2024, gatekeeping shit like this is outdated shit only an Gankerutistic permavirgin still does.
go back to tiktok you little sensitive zoomer homosexuals. The lack of gatekeeping is why you have garbage threads like this filled with zero actual gameplay discussion and poser morons just posting pure drivel with the most surface-level or downright ignorant takes

Yes you're right, we're all shitters. No reason for you to hang around then, eh?
I think shmups are at their greatest when they are part of another game. A huge portion of games that go from regular platformer to turn into a shmup and have the player fly and shoot basic projectiles against a swarm of things flying at you is guaranteed to make me grin like the grinch. Stuff like Super Mario Land 1 and Rocket Knight Adventures still tickle the dopamine receptors.
You'd probably like Astro Boy: Omega Factor.
That game is amazing too, treasure loves to do that shit to throw in a shmup stage in a game that's otherwise disconnected from the genre.
>I think shmups are at their greatest when they are part of another game.
Unfortunately many players don't share your view
Is there any shmup that's easy to 1CC but requires lots of skill to get good scores?
Your question doesn't even make sense you tranime homosexual. I know what you're asking but the way you worded it just shows you don't play this genre at all so just frick off moron.
See
. You've been found out. You can stop pretending to be a schizo now.
>uhhhhh actually anyone who expects people to actually play and beat the games they discuss is just le psyop false flag!!!
Yup. Like I said. Psyop.
Jesus, the guy just asked for an easier shmup, everyone has to start somewhere.
No need to be so rude.
Looks interesting, I'll check it out.
Either is fine.
Can't go wrong with Blazing Star, this game is pretty easy for the most part, but doing chargeshot multikills and doing the kanji orbs that turn every pickup into a bonus to get a shitton of points and getting consistent at farming bosses is a headache at first.
Depends, Horishit or vertical?
Schizo-chan here is a psyop to make elitists look bad.
Any of you Blacks enjoy Eco Fighters?
Eschatos is the greatest shooter to me
>Top 5 shmup soundtrack of all time
>Great gameplay, the shield makes the game a bullet hell that doesn't play like other bullet hells
>Great use of 3d graphics by doing crazy perspectivs and camera turns
>Dat space invaders and galaga homages in the 4th stage
>Simple as frick to play and it's great for newbies
I also loved the detail where the ending has all the ships fly with you and the number is spot on to the number of total lives you get in the game, and if you lost lives the ships appear grey like ghosts.
Eschatos is a work of passion i tell you.
>tranime homosexualry in attached image
didn't read. kys
>tranime tranime tranime!

Aw yeah
>it's good because it has a gimmicky artstyle, a lazy nostalgia bait section thrown in, it's easy, and it has the slightest bit of attention to detail (which promptly made me basedface and start clapping)
>getting filtered to "based" when he could have avoided it by typing "soi" or something similar
>in 2022+2
lol
Oh cool, the clearshomosexual who posts on /vr/ is here too.
Through the power of mspaint and good timing, i made a big sized pic of Tengai's intro's most important part.
Enjoy.
For reference, this is how crunched the screen is as it scrolls up on the intro.
I don't even know what is going on in this thread at this point...
Autistic permavirgin from autistic permavirgin /shmupg/ is dilating, its regular for shmup threads sadly.
the fake interest posturing finally cracked when asked for clears or even just the mere suggestion that they beat the games they try to discuss.
>POST LE CLEARS!!!
>BUT I WON'T SAY HOW TO POST LE CLEARS!!!
I'd say "schizo" again but it's fairly obvious that this is a psyop intended to make elitists look bad. You got your point across already.
First you need to have a single clear ever.
I have a few. How do I prove they're mine?
Post your clears that you totally have then you stupid frick. No, your DDP 1all dollar shitclear doesn't count.
Fine. Here are my clears:
Psyvariar 2 (Buzz type, ALL incl. Gluon), 52558000 pts.
Border Down (6D route), 325573370 pts
Mars Matrix (Mosquito-02), 999999999990 pts
shitters don't know what a clear is, how they would even post them, what the standard format is, where you would even find this information to fake it, what an appropriate level of difficulty for their claimed clears is, and considering how small the shmup community, basically everyone is known.
It's really, really easy to sniff them out, and you can just tell from a few words if they actually know what they're talking about and play the genre. Seems strange to fake interest in such an obscure genre, but you see it all the time in these threads, and like a good 98-99% of the posts here just come from inexperienced shitters just posting drivel to be part of the conversation. There is no point in engaging with these people at all.
case in point, a poorly conceived fraud.
post ikaruga clears right now or have a nice day in shame you dumb homosexual
I don't give a frick about Ikaruga. Shame would be wasting my time playing that trash.
LMFAO
>makes shmups his personality
>hates ikaruga
>cries about shitters and posers in this thread for 2 days straight
ok you pathetic hipster homosexual
There is way, way, WAY more to this genre than just Ikaruga you secondary moron. I wouldn't expect someone who has only ever heard of five shmups to know that.
you're like the homosexuals who won't shut the frick up about how FFXIII is an amazing game.
except I haven't even once shilled any game or even gave any indication as to what I play? Are you moronic? I don't give a frick what shmups you play, but to act like Ikaruga is anything more than some tiny portion of the genre is asinine.
Good for you (really), probably the only one ITT.
>except I haven't even once shilled any game or even gave any indication as to what I play?
We know. You haven't posted a single clear. It's honestly just sad.
>GOOD SHMUPS FOR BEGINNERS (BEST VERSION NOTED):
>all of Ganker is one person
yes, all of Ganker is one person, thats what im stipulating
Ikaruga is like the Skyrim of the genre, except people actually have genuine interest in Skyrim and play it for thousands of hours, while they play Ikaruga for a couple hours then gush about it for social credit.
Black person, I put in over 50 hours just to 1CC normal. I can't speak for others but for me it's far from a one-and-done.
I only think people who actually played games should talk about them, sorry!
how would *you* post them? what precisely makes
a fraud?
>what precisely makes
Psyvariar 2 (Buzz type, ALL incl. Gluon), 52558000 pts.
Border Down (6D route), 325573370 pts
Mars Matrix (Mosquito-02), 999999999990 pts a fraud?
the fact that he is lying. How I know he is lying I cannot reveal as it would allows shitters to learn and adapt their methods
>I cannot reveal as it would allows shitters to learn and adapt their methods
Sure you can't, psyop-chan. Sure you can't.
Idk friend, i just move the ship n shoot and dodge the balls
SECONDARY
POST YOUR CLEARS
I BET YOU PLAY CAVESLOP AND TRASHURE
I play this.
>post clears
Yeah, no. I'm not going to record myself right this instant with a camera and the timestamp and a tripcode written on a post-it note in the corner of the screen, then upload it to youtube at this hour, just to prove that it was me playing. I don't care enough for your stamp of approval.
God damn, stop falling for the psyop.
>"dude I love [game I've never played] because [thing that doesn't even make any sense and shows a complete lack of knowledge and experience with both the game and genre as a whole]!!"
>"wait, have you even beat this game? do you play the genre at all, have you even cleared one single game ever?"
>"WAAAHHHH STOP GATEKEEPING YOU HECKIN' ABLEIST AND TRANSPHOBIC BIGOT!!!"
I imported and ripped a copy of Bike Banditz so we can all play it, go play it.
https://archive.org/details/bikebanditz
