Odyssey is better than anything else in the series just because it has a kino setting and nice graphics. The early entries, especially, are the absolute definition of console slop aimed at people with an IQ of 75.
It's the complete opposite. MCU was extremely popular and especially at the start no one hated it until it suddenly fell out of favor somewhere around Endgame. CoD always had a lot of pretentious homosexuals shitting on it from the very beginning and CoD never wavered in popularity except maybe in 2016 when people were getting sick of futuristic shit.
i cant fricking stand 00's rock music, they're the embodiment of cringe. no idea why millebials think radiohead is the greatest rockband of all time or shit

Radiohead has been popular since their inception in the early 90s zoom-zoom. Pablo Honey and The Bends made them mainstays in FM rock stations all across the 90s, the best decade in music.

All 2000s - current pop culture are different flavors of terrible. It all seems like slop to me. It's pointless to argue about which decade is the most shit.
Radiohead had 2 of the best grudge rock albums in the 90's, but yeah I agree that they got alot worse going into the 2000's.
Almost all 90's rock bands completely changed subgenres in the 2000's and sounded much worse off for it. Only exception is Red hot chili peppers as their 2000's albums are easily their best.
>Grunge albums
Are you moronic? Grunge is alt rock but not all alt rock is grunge. Grunge was a specific group of bands which came out of Seattle in the early 90s.

Well frick, that's why I couldn't place him despite him looking so weirdly familiar. I don't think I've heard that name since the radio stopped airing their one hit.
i guess since they didn't want to be associated with nu metal they were waiting under that mag's offices with some bats ready and a good offer to keep them out of mention

Poser, opinion discarded. Music is music. Ozzy loved nu metal bands.
Thankfully Ozzy has never ever liked nu metal and openly decried it as "not metal" because his metal was true soulful metal... right?

Whatever he did when he was young doesn't matter when he later only cared about his cult of personality and money. Do you think James Hetfield from the 80s is the same as the one from the mid 90s? They're all "frick you, eat shit" until there's enough money on the table for them to change their way of behaving
Numetal isn't a real genre. Static X sounds nothing like any other ''numetal'' band. Static X is nothing like any Slipknot or Linkin Park song. They sound nothing alike in any way other than using guitars.
The closest thing to Static X is industrial metal and even then it's a bit of a stretch.
According to anyone who has ears.
numetal as a genre made sense at first because it was referring to the fusion of metal and hip-hop. The most iconic numetal bands were Linkin Park with half hip hop half metal, Limp Bizkit with metal instrumentals while the singer is doing a Beastie Boys thing with his voice and Slipknot who on the first album would have sort of rap or just really fast talking. It made sense. But then every band with a guitar just got randomly tagged with the numetal label. Static X has no rap whatsoever. Even the Slipknot albums after the first one don't seem like numetal at all, they stopped doing any kind of hip-hop shit
Exactly. A genre has defining characteristics, and the bands that are labeled as "nu metal" differ from each other a lot. It was never a genre, but a label to throw all kinds of bands that emerged and got big in the 90's and 2000's into one basket to then hate on them because people think being contrarian makes them cool.
The fact that you think nu-metal is ONLY metal + hip hop just shows that you don't actually know what nu-metal really means. Nu-metal can also contain stuff like industrial, grunge, funk, heavy, rapping, etc. and I'd even argue that some of it also has bits of elements of emo sometimes, for example some Deftones.

This is just pathetic cope. This labels everything that differs from metal in any way as numetal. >Nu-metal can also contain stuff like industrial, grunge
So if I try to make industrial metal I just get called numetal because industrial metal is now numetal
If I have a grunge band and make grunge songs I get called numetal because grunge is numetal
You are mentally ill
Oh yes, the great numetal bands like Nirvana. It's numetal because it used grunge.

>So if I try to make industrial metal I just get called numetal because industrial metal is now numetal >If I have a grunge band and make grunge songs I get called numetal because grunge is numetal
No, it's about all the elements of the band and what's mixed in and what's not. Instruments, lyrics, singing style, tunings, clothing and hair styles, and so on. Nu-metal is always about bands that have a mix of elements.
>You are mentally ill
Says the person who is unironically sperging out and genuinely seething over a genre of music.
>Oh yes, the great numetal bands like Nirvana. It's numetal because it used grunge.
Nirvana is just grunge through and through. They don't have any other elements mixed in there anywhere.

More mental illness
You can't define what grunge is. By your own logic Nirvana should be numetal. They use elements from rock, metal and pop music like the Beatles. They also use a made up genre that was made just for them named grunge that seems to mean that they use heavier than normal distortion and the vocals are more mumbly and distorted. Nirvana is numetal if you want to stick to your mentally ill narrative.
For me, someone who has a normal brain, two bands sound nothing alike and don't use the same elements, so they're not the same genre. You can't find one Linkin Park song that sounds like it's in the same genre as a Static X song. You can't do it. They're two completely different genres.

Grunge existed before Nirvana.

Okay, if you are so smart, then come up with genre names for these bands. What genre is Limp Bizkit? What genre is Deftones? What genre is Korn? What genre is RATM? What genre is Linkin Park?

I can use your own ''''''''''''''''''''''logic'''''''''''''''''''' and say static X is grunge. They use elements of rock, metal and pop music like the beatles. Therefore they are grunge
You're such a repulsive troony you will not even engage this in good faith. The only reason these bands are called numetal is because they were played at the same time during the height of MTV. If you were any kind of rock or metal band during that time, you were labeled as numetal. >what genre are >linkin park >korn >limp bizkit
numetal. I can accept that metal+rap is numetal >RATM

No, 9/10 bands that are called nu-metal are because they usually have a mix of elements, like I wrote before. It's a catch-all term for bands that didn't strictly fit into the other already established genre, because they have multiple elements to them.
>If you were any kind of rock or metal band during that time, you were labeled as numetal.
That's not true at all. There's tons of both rock and metal bands during that time that were never put under that label. No one ever called any of these nu-metal: Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Pantera, Motorhead, Dream Theater, Tool, Lamb of God, Mastodon, Sabaton, Sepultura, Opeth, Type O Negative, My Chemical Romance, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, The White Stripes, The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, Muse, Blink182, Kings of Leon, Paramore, Queens of the Stone Age, Three Days Grace, Audioslave, Alter Bridge, etc. etc. I could go on forever.

I grew up hating numetal cuz I was one of those blackmetal elitest nerds but now that i'm older I enjoy static x, deftones and korn when i'm drinking with the bros
Mudvayne is literally the greatest Nu Metal band ever if you just ignore everything they released after their debut.
L.D. 50 is not only an amazing album, but unique as well. There isn't another album similar to it.
The drummer was good, and Chad Gray isn't all that bad. I will say that the guitar work is absolutely braindead, but no one is listening to Mudvayne for guitar riffs.
It was a pretty big giveaway that rock was no longer the type of music people wanted to hear on the radio anymore. Rock being the only genre to not get covered in the current nostalgia-bait pop music craze just emphasizes that.
That's because playing rock that actually progresses the genre requires learning an instrument, or learning to sing beyond basic scales. Modern radio musicians quite literally don't have the talent.
Don't forget that most musicians you hear on radio also don't have talent. Most of work is done with help of computer, instead of learning to play the instrument and improving yourself to not only look good but also have appealing voice when you sing.
>people wanted to hear on the radio
rofl do you really think that's how it works? that people suddenly started hating rock and start liking Black person rap? people get as much say on what airs on the radio as they do on government policy
2000s Rock music gave us some of the best and worst rock music. Acting like it was all just Post-Grunge is moronic.
Radiohead are pretty good. I prefer Kid A to anything they've made. I see that album as more of an Electronic album than Rock.
The edgy bands like Korn, Slipknot (albeit they're more late 90s) kicked ass. Korn still makes pretty good albums too.
I enjoyed the rise of mainstream Emo for the most part. Thursday are fricking great, Circa Survive, Brand New and of course My Chemical Romance.
I'm an also huge sucker for Muse, I think they kick ass.
Linkin Park's first two records are classics as well for a reason too.
Saosin is all about the EP which has Circa Survive's vocalist. Saosin has a far more of an aggressive sound, Saosin owes a lot to Thursday, like every 2000s band basically.
Saosin is still good after but without Green it's lacking.
Those people are gays, Muse is a filter for many, because they refuse to take themselves seriously and allow themselves to be cheesy. Will Of The People is a very overhated album.
>00s rock music >radiohead
You choose genuinely the worst band to choose for this. All their aughts albums are electronic music. If you're going to talk about moments in time at least know what you're talking about.

Then in the 2010s especially when Game Grumps started talking about Sonic games a lot, that's when it became more "metalcore, J-rock, posthardcore" the kind of music you'd hear on some super weeby AMV and some numetal too
Because adding nu metal chuggas to doom grooves is a bad idea.
The fanbases probably have a very low overlap, so nobody bothered developing that idea.
But blackened power metal exists, so maybe it's not impossible to make something coherent out of the concept.

Alt rock/nu-metal from the 00s is kino. Yeah it can take itself too seriously but thats a part of the charm. Its so passionate and confident in itself that it doesn't matter if its korny. Same reason why power metal is kino
In my opinion some of it is actual honest to God masterpieces but there is ALOT of absolute garbage, so honestly it is in no way any different than any other generation of music or art
I find everything nowadays disingenuous
As much as cheesy lots of things were, they were made from the heart, now its made from an algorithm and safe money making even if its little
We criticized Nickelback (and Creed, to a lesser extent) too harshly. Are they great? No, but they have some pretty fricking solid songs and more than a few singles. I'd listen to them before any mumble rapper and most of the shit on today's radio. But I'm also 36 so this was my era.
it's weird how "safe" music artists are now these days. Back then even outside of rock, it was all about partying hard, doing coke, and living the Rockstar life. Now you barely hear any controversy with even the latest pop star.
I don't know, that one rapper hosted a satanic concert and ordered the crowd to rush forward and crush a bunch of people in front to death in ritualistic fashion. Doesn't sound very safe to me
I never understood why people hated them back then as a band, I just hated that their music was being played non-fricking-stop.
Still a banger to listen too:
The part were he says "living like a blind man" always had me thinking he was saying "living like a black man" when I was a kid.
If we're talking late 2000s Nickelback then
Soulsborne
It had one or two bangers but the rest of their track record has been nothing but mediocre copy cats with recent ones being dogshit. The masses still eat it up and wouldn't listen/play other things that are better.
i pretty much only like omnium gatherum and especially sketches of brunswick east. The rest is kinda meh to me but that goes to show how diverse their music is
it's the blandest fps goyslop for people who don't play proper shooters, like it's not even satisfying as a shooter just like nickelback isn't even satisfying as a rock band
it's heavily marketed towards dumb fat american kids who eat doritos and drink mountain dew
it's the equivalent of radio buttrock
what's insane is some still act like halo is a classic of some kind but everyone acknowledges nickelback is laughingstock trash
I only properly played Halo Infinite for MP and played few hours of CE before almost falling asleep and I agree. Halo is too slow to be interesting imo, which is mind numbing considering lore behind those armors, you would expect it to be a jetpack shooter but no, it's a slow ass game which more feels like playing as a tank than a guy in a futuristic suit. Like how is it better than Battlefield as a slow shooter and how is it better than CoD as a fast shooter? Answer is it isn't. There were some Halo 6 ''leak'' thread few days ago about 343 completely abandoning Infinite style of gameplay and going for a fast paced jetpack shooter style of gameplay(Infinite was pretty faithful to classical Halo appearently, can't say for sure because I haven't played classical Halo) so it might be finally good.
Man I'd like to curb stomp you.
Halo Infinite was more faithful to classic halo than the abominations that were halo 4 and 5, but still godawful.
Halo 2, 3 and to a lesser extent Reach, close to launch when the online multiplayer was well populated were fricking awesome.
fast paced shit like cod and other dull boring shit like it belong in the trash and should never come back.
Halo Campaigns are great. The story, music, enemy design, the sandbox style levels with seamless integration of vehicles, there isn't really anything like it. As a multiplayer game it's completely mindnumbing, it's just terrible and I have no clue why people play it.
I don't know what your talking about anon, I wish Halo WAS the standard. Yeah there was an era of games trying to emulate the success of Halo, but none of them really captured the same kind of fun sandbox NPC wars as halo. The only game to really do it was Halo Infinite but that game is unfinished and bogged down by ubisoft elements. The only people still complaining about halo "ruining the industry" are quake fans
>What is a piece of media that is actually really fricking good but has suffered from undeserved joke ~~*media campaign*~~ against them because they are devoted Christians.
Hmmm... i wonder. Can't name any examples to be honest.
That's a tough one. There are plenty of games that are horrible, but even the flops were trying to accomplish something. The particular brand of flavorless, wet-blanket, committee-designed Product that Nickelback is really hard to apply to something interactive like games. Maybe, MAYBE, Horizon 2 and 3.
But even Horizon had ambition, somewhere in its genesis.
Frick Nickelback, who's the THREE DAYS GRACE of music? Specifically the three first albums? You know, the music that's pretty good, but it's obviously generic but seems to have soul and passion in it. Music which is heavier than most Post-Grunge bands and Alt.Rock bands but still not heavy to be metal.
I see Three Days Grace as that guilty pleasure game that doesn't play particularly well but is still fun as frick. Like EDF
First few Nickelback albums are pretty good rock albums. AAA game industry wished it had the quality of Nickelback. AAA game industry is more like top 40 pop music of today.
Not that I actually play them, but CoD games are never really bad are they? They all seem pretty well made and the gunplay is good, even if casual and uninteresting
Not really. Not their best work but it's still a quality album. Compare this to bands like the RHCP who haven't released a decent record since Stadium Arcadium.
Yeah, pretty famous beef between Patton and Kiedis over Kiedis fricking over Mr Bungle's "California" release date for the sake of "Californication" so that RHCP would get the attention and not Mr. Bungle. Patton and the band got rightfully pissed at Kiedis for that and ripped the entirety of RHCP a new one with no holds barred with that 1999 Halloween concert.
I mean i know is wrong to wish trent to be depresed again, but his music sucked after he survived the 90's, specially now, the ghost or whatever the frick his new albums are called sound like funeral music.
But The Trilogy is some of the coolest shit Trent ever made.
I mean i know is wrong to wish trent to be depresed again, but his music sucked after he survived the 90's, specially now, the ghost or whatever the frick his new albums are called sound like funeral music.
Ghosts isn't supposed to be the same shit as his earlier work and I don't get why people freak out over that. It's dark ambient. There's some bangers in there too
midwestern emo.
some fun guitar riffs here and there but the lyrics are trash and mumbled and no one knows how to play other instruments. Both liked by pretentious teenagers.
I like like 3 Nickelback songs, the fact that they're being played at all in radio is just that their music is inoffensive and bland that it can be sold as a pop music.
Based. Turn based combat inevitably comes completely tedious and repetitive, I have no idea how people suffer through that shit. Especially when you fight large groups of enemies, you just fricking sit there and wait for ages. It's just pointless and not needed in this day and age where you can do all that shit in real time and it will be 20 as fun to play
Need for Speed definitely. >Peaked in popularity in mid 00s >Has always been total garbage >People start pretending that it was actually good almost 20 years later
Never understood why Nickelback was so hated. I thought it was just a canadian thing since we were forced to listen to them way too much due to radio laws.
Is hating Nickelback one of the first cases of mass form psychosis? Just normalgay NPCs mindlessly parroting the narrative without being able to explain a reason behind their rationale?
Nickelback is not and has never been a good band. But the overwhelming hate they received is a bit much in hindsight. As far as bottom-of-the-barrel buttock goes, bands like Puddle of Mudd, Shinedown and Five Finger Death Punch at their worst are all easily shittier than Nickelback at their worst.
Saints Row with ease. the defining characteristic of Nickelback is that they didn't have a genre and just made music in whatever genre that was popular. Saint's Row much like that, kept altering its gameplay and story in every new release in an attempt to not be called a clone of another famous franchise while also tapping into whatever themes that were in vogue at the time.

Had a few kino entries, very good for what they set out to do. Then just produced nothing but mediocre slop which is unexplainably popular while the good ones get forgotten. While the series is extremely popular, it has such insane autistic mob of haters going after it every day of their life and whining about it unprompted.
Albertan here. Did ya'll know that Nickelback doesn't actually play full powerchords when they record guitar? Instead, they play each not individually, and then combine the three notes together in the DAW
seriously, why are there almost no games with punk/nu metal soundtracks/aesthethics?

Millennials also love homosexual crybaby shit like mcr, I bet they were also the reason why stupid ass band like mayday parade and its kind exist
This banger eats your bangers on breakfast lil zoomie
MCR had a homosexual crybaby aesthetic, but the music was actually energetic and fun for the most part.
You have shit taste, that's why.
Grunge was a specific group of bands which came out of Seattle in the early 90s.
leave 12 year olds alone. they are just trying to fit in
all of my favourite grunge vocalists are dead now...

It's a cool tribute though what Xero is doing, but yeah, being dead sucks
>Static-X
based beyond belief
I don't think they have ONE single music track that is good
>Nu metal is awesome
It always was.
>Jonathan Davis's microphone is actually just a portable oxygen tank
lmao, meth and its consequences
>portable oxygen tank
It's a fetish piece designed by none other than H. R. Giger himself.
but KoRn is Hard Rock...
This shit was peak inceldom of its era. If you were rocking this shit you weren't fricking.
What are you on about. Everyone listened to that shit back in middle/high school.
"Everyone" lol
yes
can confirm, was not fricking in my numetal era but black metal saved me
No ugly white girls loved numetal back then, obviously stacies listened to normie music, melodic doom is the only incel music
Nu metal isn't metal. It's just downtuned palm muted alt rock with rap vocals
Cool. Go whine about it on Metal Archives you fat homosexual.

the one between kid rock and the other guy with the hat is draiman from disturbed and the emo guy beside static is probably shaddix from papa roach
frick i didn't see david draiman at first it's so obvious
i forgot that the guy from papa roach went with that pseudo-emo look, i usually think of the last resort video
>crazy town
Well frick, that's why I couldn't place him despite him looking so weirdly familiar. I don't think I've heard that name since the radio stopped airing their one hit.
Didn't their one hit consist of a sampled RHCP riff?
Pretty Little Ditty
Yeah it's butterfly.
okay now make their skin black
>No Chino, Deftones in the picture
I know they only blew up last year but even they were working with some of these bands back then??
i guess since they didn't want to be associated with nu metal they were waiting under that mag's offices with some bats ready and a good offer to keep them out of mention
Not Metal
>calls nu metal "not metal"
>not giving an example of what "trve metal" sound like
Poser, opinion discarded. Music is music. Ozzy loved nu metal bands.
This is real metal, not that souless millennial trash
Thankfully Ozzy has never ever liked nu metal and openly decried it as "not metal" because his metal was true soulful metal... right?
Oldman Ozzy is a troony clown. His MTV program was just as cringe as nu-metal is. Imagine believing the words of a man that completely sold himself
>Yeah, Ozzy? The guy that basically founded metal as a genre? Yeah frick him he's a sellout
Are you still shocked and appalled no one likes metal purists like (You)? Was it really that hard to form an actual personality?
Whatever he did when he was young doesn't matter when he later only cared about his cult of personality and money. Do you think James Hetfield from the 80s is the same as the one from the mid 90s? They're all "frick you, eat shit" until there's enough money on the table for them to change their way of behaving
Numetal isn't a real genre. Static X sounds nothing like any other ''numetal'' band. Static X is nothing like any Slipknot or Linkin Park song. They sound nothing alike in any way other than using guitars.
The closest thing to Static X is industrial metal and even then it's a bit of a stretch.
>Numetal isn't a real genre
According to who? You?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nu_metal
>So if I try to make industrial metal I just get called numetal because industrial metal is now numetal
>If I have a grunge band and make grunge songs I get called numetal because grunge is numetal
>You can't define what grunge is
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grunge
>By your own logic Nirvana should be numetal. They use elements from rock, metal and pop music like the Beatles
That's just grunge.
>They also use a made up genre that was made just for them named grunge
Grunge existed before Nirvana.
>They're two completely different genres
Okay, if you are so smart, then come up with genre names for these bands. What genre is Limp Bizkit? What genre is Deftones? What genre is Korn? What genre is RATM? What genre is Linkin Park?
More troony cope
I can use your own ''''''''''''''''''''''logic'''''''''''''''''''' and say static X is grunge. They use elements of rock, metal and pop music like the beatles. Therefore they are grunge
You're such a repulsive troony you will not even engage this in good faith. The only reason these bands are called numetal is because they were played at the same time during the height of MTV. If you were any kind of rock or metal band during that time, you were labeled as numetal.
>what genre are
>linkin park
>korn
>limp bizkit
numetal. I can accept that metal+rap is numetal
>RATM
rock
>deftones
alternative rock
People like to say Deftones weren't nu-metal just because they were one of the only bands in that scene that didn't suck, but they were 100% nu-metal.
troony reveals xir's true motive. You use numetal to just label any band you don't like. You don't care what genre these bands are in. You're just mad that all the cool popular kids listened to popular bands when you were in school while you were listening to, I don't know, radiohead or something
>completely randomly starts sperging out about trannies for absolutely no reason
Yeah, you are definitely the mentally ill one here. Holy frick.
>The only reason these bands are called numetal is because they were played at the same time during the height of MTV
No one ever called any of these nu-metal: Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Pantera, Motorhead, Dream Theater, Tool, Lamb of God, Mastodon, Sabaton, Sepultura, Opeth, Type O Negative, My Chemical Romance, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, The White Stripes, The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, Muse, Blink182, Kings of Leon, Paramore, Queens of the Stone Age, Three Days Grace, Audioslave, Alter Bridge, etc. etc. I could go on forever.
mentally ill troony
dilate and have a nice day
>can't provide actual argument
>resorts to sperging out
Both of your parents must be deeply ashamed of you. Imagine all the wishes and dreams that had for you when you were born, and then imagine how they feel about you now. Sad.
You will never be a woman, mentally ill trans freak
I don't want to be a woman. I'm not sure why you would even think that, but maybe it's because you have trannies on your mind 24/7.
>Nu Metal isn't a real genre.
I wish it was, because it makes people who autistically blab about "real metal" mad as frick, even 30 years later.
Shame they couldn't really replicate LD50 thereafter. It's a great album but none of their other material is as good.
L.D. 50 is their magnum opus and Ryan Martinie makes me want to learn how to play bass. Well, him and Les Claypool.
Ryan Martinie was the only good thing about Mudvayne and they were holding him back.
Good thing he has his own band now.

How does Circa survive compare to saosin?
Saosin is all about the EP which has Circa Survive's vocalist. Saosin has a far more of an aggressive sound, Saosin owes a lot to Thursday, like every 2000s band basically.
Saosin is still good after but without Green it's lacking.
Didn't Green return for their latest album?
I also love muse despite how frequently people insult me for it
Those people are gays, Muse is a filter for many, because they refuse to take themselves seriously and allow themselves to be cheesy. Will Of The People is a very overhated album.
I'd rather listen 00s rock music than whatever Black person filled hip-hop/slow rap garbage we have today.
>00s rock music
>radiohead
You choose genuinely the worst band to choose for this. All their aughts albums are electronic music. If you're going to talk about moments in time at least know what you're talking about.
OK Computer is still Alt.Rock at its core.
Yeah and Ok computer released in 1997. You know what else released in 1997? Pinkerton and The Mollusk but no one thinks of those as 00s albums.
oh wow i thought it released in 2001, I was too lazy to check, apologies. We'll, In Rainbows leans toward rock more then
Based as frick
Gimme back my motherfricking riffs, you wienersucking depressed faux-hawk-having drug addicts
I could have sworn "butt rock" was Sonic and Persona music though?
When I grew up, it meant Motley Crue and Aerosmith-style rock
It seems like it changes every decade or two
80s and 90s, "butt rock" was absolutely what we call "wiener rock" nowadays, all those boomer rock hair metal blues rock bands from the 70s and 80s
2000s is when it became
>Tantric, DamagePlan, Haji’s Kitchen, Alien Ant Farm, Doosu, Allele, Breaking Point. Mudvayne, and Staind
+the post grunge bands like Creed, Nickelback, Skillet, Default, Stone Sour, Crossfade, etc
Then in the 2010s especially when Game Grumps started talking about Sonic games a lot, that's when it became more "metalcore, J-rock, posthardcore" the kind of music you'd hear on some super weeby AMV and some numetal too
How the frick has no one thought of crossing stoner metal or sludge metal with nü metal
Frick it, I'm gonna try that in Suno or Udio one of these days
Because adding nu metal chuggas to doom grooves is a bad idea.
The fanbases probably have a very low overlap, so nobody bothered developing that idea.
But blackened power metal exists, so maybe it's not impossible to make something coherent out of the concept.
https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Satan%27s_Host/1460
The latter two have more in common than the first one does to any of the rest
>complains about 2000s rock being full of depressed drug addicts
>posts album cover of a band from a genre that is literally nothing but depressed drug addicts
>a genre that is literally nothing but depressed drug addicts
Radiohead is considered incelcore, which applies to most anons.
Radiohead IS trash.
Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit n shit is where it's at.
To be fair, you need a high IQ to really get Radiohead so I understand your opinion despite it being wrong
2000s rock is still better than 2010s """rock""" which is shit like Imagine Dragons
there were quite a lot of good indie rock in the 2000's
Qotsa made the best rock music in the 00's.
the only post that matters on this shitty thread
homosexual band for homosexuals like you.
Alt rock/nu-metal from the 00s is kino. Yeah it can take itself too seriously but thats a part of the charm. Its so passionate and confident in itself that it doesn't matter if its korny. Same reason why power metal is kino
>doesn't matter if its korny
Heh, koяny
>putting radiohead next to nickelback
they don't even sound alike dude
they both wine about stupid shit no one cares about

A Twist of Myth is one of the best metal albums of all time.
Frick you, Phobia is an excellent album.
>radiohead
they're only a rock band in name especially after pablo honey which is considered their worst album by most people.
2000s was one of the best decades for rock, then shitty hip-hop and rap won and made music worse as a whole for it
In my opinion some of it is actual honest to God masterpieces but there is ALOT of absolute garbage, so honestly it is in no way any different than any other generation of music or art
I find everything nowadays disingenuous
As much as cheesy lots of things were, they were made from the heart, now its made from an algorithm and safe money making even if its little
2000s was the best era for rock besides the 70s. Felt like a nice change from the plastic, astroturfed 80s and bitter, cynical 90s
Dark souls.
We criticized Nickelback (and Creed, to a lesser extent) too harshly. Are they great? No, but they have some pretty fricking solid songs and more than a few singles. I'd listen to them before any mumble rapper and most of the shit on today's radio. But I'm also 36 so this was my era.
CAN YOU TAKE ME HIGHER
Creed fell off after that bj video came out because they were a Christian crossover band so their base abandoned them and nobody else cared that much.
>bj video
Come again?
there was a video of the guy from creed getting a bj, i think kid rock was there too.
it's weird how "safe" music artists are now these days.
Doesn't sound very safe to me
Horizon Zero Dawn
This is the only true answer, and more because alloy still gets pushed as if she was a mascot, is not organic
I never understood why people hated them back then as a band, I just hated that their music was being played non-fricking-stop.
Still a banger to listen too:
The part were he says "living like a blind man" always had me thinking he was saying "living like a black man" when I was a kid.
and they say that an hero could save us

Warframe and Kenshi.
i pretty much only like omnium gatherum and especially sketches of brunswick east. The rest is kinda meh to me but that goes to show how diverse their music is
Elden Ring?
Not really. Elden Ring is like popular mainstream glamorous black metal band or pop punk.
Except black metal and mainstream can never be in same sentence. They both are mutually exclusive.
I think there are some, I don't remember the names, not a fan of this genre. maybe gorgoroth
halo
it's the blandest fps goyslop for people who don't play proper shooters, like it's not even satisfying as a shooter just like nickelback isn't even satisfying as a rock band
it's heavily marketed towards dumb fat american kids who eat doritos and drink mountain dew
it's the equivalent of radio buttrock
what's insane is some still act like halo is a classic of some kind but everyone acknowledges nickelback is laughingstock trash
Halo 4 campaign is closer to the originals but Infinite campaign is better
Havent seen anyone be right about halo on this forum before. Its the stalest blandest shit ever
Morrowind
Sonic the hedgehog
Maybe something like Life is Strange. Loved by the normans but (rightfully) reviled by almost everyone else.

Donkey Kong Jr
I'd say Donkey Kong 3 is a way better match.
Like EDF
Somebody posted a youtube video recently that was about 10 years old making fun of current era video game essays. Anybody have the link?
First few Nickelback albums are pretty good rock albums. AAA game industry wished it had the quality of Nickelback. AAA game industry is more like top 40 pop music of today.
How did no one say Call Of Duty? The most casual friendly by-the-books shooter that invariably has its rare moments of greatness.
Not that I actually play them, but CoD games are never really bad are they? They all seem pretty well made and the gunplay is good, even if casual and uninteresting

Based
Still nowhere near as based as the 1999 Halloween Mr. Bungle concert
they were fighting?
Yeah, pretty famous beef between Patton and Kiedis over Kiedis fricking over Mr Bungle's "California" release date for the sake of "Californication" so that RHCP would get the attention and not Mr. Bungle. Patton and the band got rightfully pissed at Kiedis for that and ripped the entirety of RHCP a new one with no holds barred with that 1999 Halloween concert.
Crazy how both of you mistyped One Hot Minute.

I like like 3 Nickelback songs, the fact that they're being played at all in radio is just that their music is inoffensive and bland that it can be sold as a pop music.
>no refute

I literally had no idea what point you were even making, I just saw the words 'like like' and giggled. Not everyone is out to get you, Anon!
>hated rightfully by smart people
Anything turn based.

Nickleback isn't that great but I never understood the huge hate for them. I'd take them over Maroon 5 or Aerosmith any day of the week.

Who's the David Bowie of vidya?
Zeno Clash
Is hating Nickelback one of the first cases of mass form psychosis? Just normalgay NPCs mindlessly parroting the narrative without being able to explain a reason behind their rationale?
Dark Souls
Nickelback is not and has never been a good band. But the overwhelming hate they received is a bit much in hindsight. As far as bottom-of-the-barrel buttock goes, bands like Puddle of Mudd, Shinedown and Five Finger Death Punch at their worst are all easily shittier than Nickelback at their worst.
Nickelback is just more recognizable because their sound is cliche insert songs for TV shows and movies from the early to mid 2000s.
What's the Hu of video games?
My Summer Car
Mount & Blade
the witcher 3
Nu-metal bros... i thought we were going to be the cool kids forever... i hate paying taxes
Dark Souls. It's all the same janky trash.
World of Warcraft
Fred Durst isn't prancing around at a troony parade. Nu metal is better than current year shit by far
Who's the Pantera of vidya?

Btw I think vinnie paul was under rated he had very tight drum grooves
How did he get away with it?
The other guy trying to rise his other hand just to dissimulate the whole thing is so funny
Helldivers 2 apparently from the shorts that keep popping up on my YouTube feed.
Ace Combat 7
>i cant fricking stand 00's rock music, they're the embodiment of cringe. no idea why millebials think radiohead is the greatest rockband of all time or shit
Korn's pretty fricking awful. Easily one of the worst bands ever alongside U2 and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Korn can be kino sometimes
>NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO IT'S NOT TRUE METAL
Wash your ass.

significant other was better.

>be good people
his teeth got grinded or what, wasn't he singing about knocking people out and fricking up something (gimme something to break). That fake ass tone but maybe he got old and tired.
i mean dude's 53. probably got humbled after mid 2000s
He's in 50 so he most likely mellowed down.
>wasn't he singing about knocking people out and fricking up something (gimme something to break)
That song wasn't about being violent, it was about when you yourself break, after you reach that point, when you do feel like smashing something.
can't believe people used to think backwards baseball caps and sea urchin hair looks cool
lmao
Whats the origin of this meme? I keep seeing this dipshit but who is he?
Youtube reaction dude.
>NEVER MADE IT AS A WHITE MAN
>COULDN'T CUT IT AS A POOR MAN STEALING
>TIRED LIVING LIKE A BLACK MAN
>NEVER HAD A SENSE OF THIEVING
What did they mean by this?
>Big black jet
Why did he had to word it like that?
mediocrity that gets extremely hated more then it really should ?
Fire Emblem
arguably Fallout
What is the Primus of video games?
Icepick Lodge probably.
Call of Duty.
Instead, they play each not individually, and then combine the three notes together in the DAW
>hated despite being decent and worth experiencing
Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword tbh
Subgenres are dumb. Everything is just rock or metal to me.
What is Rage Against the Machine to you?
Horizon series
Souls games.
Normie tier corporate product that make normies think they are a bit more hardcore than your average person.
Sorry I mean Souls LIKE games that try and imitate the original product to essentially ride their coattails
Metal purists are gigantic homosexuals.
seriously, why are there almost no games with punk/nu metal soundtracks/aesthethics?
the only thing that comes to my mind is most wanted and arguably no more heroes
Since we have the rare music thread on Ganker, I'd like to present: the average Gankertard's theme music
