I've always thought this narrative was dumb as frick because when you ask people to actually name the times it happened, and you actually look into when and how it happened, the timing straight up doesn't make sense. One of the early examples was that they had some drama about banning a competitive player or something and then after that they did an event where they released a side story where Soldier was confirmed gay. But if you actually look at the timing there was like a two day window between the drama and the event so it makes absolutely zero sense that they would put together a story AND in-game events/skins in just two days.

The CO from Deus Ex Mankind Divided is probably the only notably well-written gay character I've encountered in vidya.

I've always thought this narrative was dumb as frick because when you ask people to actually name the times it happened, and you actually look into when and how it happened, the timing straight up doesn't make sense. One of the early examples was that they had some drama about banning a competitive player or something and then after that they did an event where they released a side story where Soldier was confirmed gay. But if you actually look at the timing there was like a two day window between the drama and the event so it makes absolutely zero sense that they would put together a story AND in-game events/skins in just two days.
