this series is the most middling and mediocre franchise ever created
it only got semi popular because of cubies that bought symphonia because the gamepube had 3 jrpgs
>this series is the most middling and mediocre franchise ever created
Correct, but I think people erroneously put Tales up there with other big franchise. It really is just Anime: the JRPG in all of its many incarnations.
Tales is easily the most "I hate it even though I've never played it" franchise ever made.
What is it about this series specifically that draws these people in?
Zelda
I blame the 2000s for it, the DS games and WW/TP were such a downgrade for the status of the franchise
And OoT, that was the biggest downgrade.
Don’t pretend the Stylus/touch screens are the issue though.
It was all the emptiness in sailing and being on rails in the train, FRICK that.
PH was cool in atmosphere, despite being a Toon Link game it was pretty eerie at times.
The problem was the gimmick not being good gameplay wise.
Tales of Symphonia 2 is good.
Sonic
final fantasy. last good game was during clinton presidency with exception of stranger of paradise.
"I'll give you your final fantasy" -bill 1997
When you constantly pump out games for years and years, you'll occasionally make something good.
Kirby
Don’t @ me, homosexuals.
Valkyria Chronicles (one good game)
Valkyrie Profile (one good game)
Yakuza (two good games)
Assassin's Creed (three good games)
Quake
Tomb Raider
Final Fantasy

If you think most of the series is bad then why do you keep playing it?

Tales is the only jrpg franchise I enjoy unironically anymore.
