Bring back coop as an option
They don’t even need to write the story around it I’d be completely fine if the other character just disappeared during cutscenes
Just make the other player character some sort of ghost companion that vanishes every time something scripted happens, give them a different moveset for combat, introduce puzzles that require cooperation
>RE1 - Mansion >RE2 - Police Station >RE3 - Raccoon City Streets >RE4 - Spanish Island >RE5 - Africa >RE6 - Lol >RE7 - TCM-inspired house >RE8 - Gothic Village
Based. The rain in the environment would be sick. Maybe you can walk towards a larger city? Or a train? This would be amazing. So many avenues. Could even be a small town Japanese cop and you escape to a larger city because umbrella says too. And now it’s way worse. I’m fricking high and love RE and love this idea.
it should have a crashed ship, protag lives in village of infected living normally and then starts to unravel whats really happening.
just imagine the awsome zombified people/animal hybrids. it would be awsome to see. and the wacky puzzles would make sense since the animals worship the doc
im partial to the suburbs. Its a pretty underused setting for horror as it is, and could include elements of both a large metro area and the woods. A nice little sweet spot between the two, and have elements of unsettling small town America and their local cover-up in handling umbrellas dirty laundry
I really liked the suburbs in The Last of Us. a RE game centered around survival in an Umbrella Corp funded burbs sorta like Silent Hill would be awesome.
If the story involved another 'progenitor' creature, like the Megamycete that could be cool. Apparently the RE world just has planet ending monstrosities chilling under the surface, no big deal.
Did we ever get an origin game with Spencer? If not, it could chronicle what exactly happened during the time with him and Mother Mirada when discussing the Mold
re7 = re4
a fresh new take in the series
re8 = re5
a spin on the new direction. not that good
re9 =? re6
a total disaster
just make the next re6 already.
Rip off the manga Freak Island, and Far Cry 3.
Have a brand new cast of characters, shipwreck them on a remote island that was a simple fishing village and vacation spot, that has was secretly run by a cult for generations, the island was part of a nuclear testing or some shit, and abandoned, but the cult never actually left, and has been mutating from the residual radiation, and abducting people to experiment on via the islands radiated flora and fauna.
You have to get off the island, try to save your friends, and stop the cult.
it should have a crashed ship, protag lives in village of infected living normally and then starts to unravel whats really happening.
just imagine the awsome zombified people/animal hybrids. it would be awsome to see. and the wacky puzzles would make sense since the animals worship the doc
>Hanging out above deck on a ship >Suddenly hit something, chaos ensues >Wake up on a beach in dead of night >Wreckage all around you >Only light in the moon >Walk up the coast for a couple minutes >Utter silence aside from the waves >Look into the distance there's a large creature cresting above the surface >Keep seeing glimpses of the thing as the story progresses >Big Bad escapes on boat only to be eaten by monster >Final boss is a battle is a massive leviathan
I know people we crucify me for saying this, but after watching the first two episodes of Netflix RE, I would actually like a semi-Open-World thing inside a planned city/closed off community type of setting.
Something like Evil Within 2 would be pretty cool.
- You play as a number of "Hero" type characters with a wide range of cosmetics.
- "Most" of Raccoon city is available for exploration.
- Your teams goal is to find a managable position and hold out for as long as possible.
- Ulitimately your teams goal is to observe and record the evolution of the T-Virus so the longer you stay in Raccoon City the more points you get to unlocking cosmetics and shit.
- At night you are hunted by Licker and other BOWs.
- If you draw to much attention, IE breaking into the Raccoon City PD etc. You'll draw the attention of bigger bads like Mr.X or Nemesis or Umbrella Corp.
- You can choose to leave the OP at any time by having multiple people launch flairs and have a helicopter come and pick you up.
- Additionally there's S.T.A.R.S. checkpoints across the city that includes a broken down train and battle bus that needs repairs. Helping these check points draws more "heat" but gives you a point multiplier for those sweet cosmetics.
It is already planned to be a dark, both arid but chilly, forested wilds set encountering a native-american reserve out in western USA. Lots of windint buttes and indigenous mythology, with some of the same antlercore type of stuff you saw from the previous game. Think northern Arizona
I believe a handful of members from the team have been sent out there just like was done with Re7 and the Louisiana "inspiration" trip but I may be incorrect on that statement
>You are hired by Umbrella to work at a large hive facility located leagues below ground. (different location than RC) >You go to your station located near the bottom. >cliche outbreak + lockdown >Airborne virus mutating the absolute frick out of everyone >you must make your way topside
RE8 was RE4-2 and it was fricking awful for it. It's a shame how good 7 was because it unfairly gave fans of the series hope for the future when Capcom clearly don't have a fricking clue what they're doing and never have
Bruh lol re7 and re8 just proved that Capcom wants to do what they want to do. Which is good. They're doing new things and taking the series in interesting directions because of it.
>RE8 was RE4-2 and it was fricking awful for it. It's a shame how good 7 was because it unfairly gave fans of the series hope for the future when Capcom clearly don't have a fricking clue what they're doing and never have
it wasnt
it took inspiration from it, but its not the progression of the franchise, that would be dead space which improves a lot over re4
i want to see what a next gen of this concept would look like, so instead of starting with the dated as frick re4 they would look at more modern games
>RE8 was RE4-2
except it wasn't? Ethan has the charisma of a loaf of bread and the game tries to take the story/narrative too serious when it must be the worst in the franchise
Combat is bad, low variety of enemies, bad AI, few gameplay mechanics presented in the game, few memorable moments, low variety of weapons (compared to RE4), dogshit level design, low replay value, too many cutscenes/walking shit, etc...
Re4 has a very small enemy pool too and the only variety you really get is later they wear helmets and when their heads pop a tentacle appears that you need to shoot. Otherwise they all behave almost exactly the same as thr original villagers you encounter.
please no, FRICK action-movie RE games. Give us genuinely terrifying horror. There are not enough good games that are actually scary to play and don't rely on spooky jumpscares or pngs (*cough* Iron Lung)
Don't pussy out this time Capcom, we are counting on you.
Call it something else then, make them unrelated characters. Don't give a frick. Want more mechanically excellent co-op games. Genuinely terrifying horror probably isn't going to happen since it becomes less scary as you experience it more. Things also become less scary as time goes on and technology advances.
Really. Go ahead and pick out a few horror movies from the 80s that people were genuinely afraid of. We can discuss how their visual and sound effects have held up over the years, and whether or not people are still afraid of those movies.
If it's not some psychological shit and you're not a child, then yeah, things get less scary as time goes on. I guess I need to clarify that I'm talking about entertainment media and not African tribal superstition or some shit, lol.
>things also become less scary as time goes on and technology advances
Things become less scary as time goes on as devlelopers stop making video games people want to play and keep making video games that farm as much money as physically possible while taking as little risks as possible.
I was thinking more of advances in cg making previous stuff look pretty lame. I do think that creatively entertainment has suffered, though. That definitely lowers the scariness.
What you are actually referring to is environmental sound design. It is what made Amnesia The Dark Descent famous, and most modern horror developers forget or neglect to even such atmospheric-cue-designating audio files into their games. It isn't technology being bad, but people just getting lazy

Well no, you make a valid point, but I was referring to things like Poltergeist terrifying viewers despite looking hokey as shit in the modern day. Another example, the Evil Dead remake is way more terrifying than any of the originals, and makes their horror elements look humorous instead of scary. A majority of entertainment is like this, I think.
Bring back Jill. Say the Wesker experiments kept her from aging. Or let her be a near 50 year old MILF. I don't give a shit, but I know homosexuals here would be mad.
Yeah even if you think Re7 is kind of boring nobody can deny it has the most immersive and intimidating-looking locations. Relying on movie references and real-world experience really helped them out
The key is MAKING THE PLAYER ALWAYS FEEL ISOLATED AND FAR AWAY FROM RESCUE. PERIOD
Actually make it matter to the overall plot or just move on from the original characters all together. Revelations 2 actually felt like a big story but this just felt like backstory shit with Miranda giving ideas to everyone. The Wesker's are the most important villains in the series and Alex is out there just plotting her return while Chris is involved with some random dude getting turned into a monster human hybrid. Either drop all connections to established characters or just make the story progress, frick we could play as a nameless character then be a fake out and it be Hunk or a main cast character wearing a mask like Samus.
>brainwash all the developers to forget everything they learned about americans and the world outside of nipland >don't let them speak with any westerner or let one be in the team
There, now they can make a good game with their idea of what a westerner country is like, like the old games
Just do Remake 2 but better. You already get gun upgrades by progression and exploration, no need for a shop. RE8s money and shop just felt so tacked on. If they want to add in Coop they could try the 0 Route again.

Giant rat monster. It controls the population using papper slips it prints and distributes. The effects zombify the population and cause them to do the rats bidding to get more papper for themselves. The only way to kill it is with gas. The main character is a fat neet who has no papper of his own.
Alex Wesker finally makes her move, revealing she's been inhabiting Natalia's body all these years. She kills Kathy and Polly Burton while forcing Barry to watch, and then kills him. Claire and Moira discover what's happened and try to track her down but are captured and forced to do depraved things to each other. Meanwhile, Jill and Rebecca arrive to save the other two and figure out Alex's plans. But the twist is that Albert Wesker also planted part of his own consciousness in Alex's mind. He dominates and destroys her, taking full control of Natalia's body and initiates his plan to rid himself of all his old enemies in one fell swoop. He infects the entire town with various viruses, knowing this will lead Chris and Leon to show up. He captures Jill and Rebecca and forces them to do depraved things to each other. Chris and Leon must fight through a legion of various BOWs, with a little help from Ada along the way.
RE9 will likely be the end of the winters' storyline. I suspect I know what it'll be too. With the FPS titles they follow a theme:
RE7: American Horror (texas chainsaw, saw, creature from black lagoon, etc)
RE8: European Horrors (werewolves, frankenstein's monster, vampires, dragons)
RE9:???
Smart money is on 'Japanese/Asian' horror ala Jun-On and such things.

Resident evil 9
Bring back coop as an option

This. I've really enjoyed their first person entries. Some coop could be great.
This and also a battle royale mode
Yes yes, make it a gacha too, with tons of loot boxes
Just make the other player character some sort of ghost companion that vanishes every time something scripted happens, give them a different moveset for combat, introduce puzzles that require cooperation
its just that girl at the end of 8 being blacked for 12 hours straight in first person view you play as her being blacked
Not sure which poster is more mentally ill.
That would unironically make it game of the decade.

Lets go to the Arctic and do a "The Thing" thing
They already did Antarctica in code Veronica
And in Revelations
They should do it again but good this time
moron
The original Thing takes place in the Arctic.
there's a thing like monster in RE Universe... also best Re movie. I really miss those old ubcs costumes
we haven't been to japan or some old japanese farm house or some old shit like that
Stealth Sweet Home remake in a spooky Japanese mansion
Feels more like the setting of a Fatal Frame game rather than RE

Some indie game did that, havent played it yet. Its supposed to be all fricked up, has a directors cut i bought and haven't played.

Unironically Yes. Worked so well for L4D1/2 and SH2
I really liked the suburbs in The Last of Us. a RE game centered around survival in an Umbrella Corp funded burbs sorta like Silent Hill would be awesome.

space
Anyone who buys this is moronic. Village was shit. I'll probably get RE4 remake then call it quits on RE.
The entire series is shit, moron.
Stick to your Fallout shitposting troony
Third person coop campaign
nah, just ruined the horror element
Another soft reboot. RE8 was an insultingly bad follow-up to 7, which actually gave me hope for this series.
Call it Resident Evil sIX
So they can sort shit out.
Confirm Chris is gay
Barry. Where's Barry?
I like the Resident Evil revelations concept of a break out on a ship. Too bad it's a bad game. Would love if it they did it, but actually good.
Dead Aim.
He said good
dead aim is good
re7 = re4
a fresh new take in the series
re8 = re5
a spin on the new direction. not that good

Hopefully not make it shit but that'll be a feat considering the last good RE was 6.

RE 1 Remaster REmake
https://www.pcgamer.com/remake-of-resident-evil-remake-wouldnt-be-laughable-says-capcom/
i dont know why they wouldnt. RE remake was before they established the style of 2,3 and now 4
I know people we crucify me for saying this, but after watching the first two episodes of Netflix RE, I would actually like a semi-Open-World thing inside a planned city/closed off community type of setting.
Something like Evil Within 2 would be pretty cool.
I wouldn't hate that, there is just no part of me that believes they would do it correctly/well.
Post the size of REmake 4's Ashley's cup size
B-cup, and we all know it.
Big enough to be "defined", but not enough to be worth giving a shit about saving her for.
take it to japan and riff on the ring or the grudge.
No RE will ever top Village. Too many waifus.
Inverted resident evil 6 and porn parody number 69
Make Joe Baker the main character.

Kinda like an underground deadspace type vibe
RE 4... 2
Im betting they gonna test waters with RE4 now after RE2 remake
RE9 will for sure be third person shooter but with a new take
RE8 was RE4-2 and it was fricking awful for it. It's a shame how good 7 was because it unfairly gave fans of the series hope for the future when Capcom clearly don't have a fricking clue what they're doing and never have

In that order
Im still waiting on 7 and 8.
For real tho

Ah man I can't wait to be a defenseless nobody who can't attack enemies and has to run away from engagements that sounds like great gameplay.
>I can't wait to be a defenseless nobody
You didn't beat the game

moron
Name a scary horror game then, contraratard. I'll wait
Bring back Jill. Say the Wesker experiments kept her from aging. Or let her be a near 50 year old MILF. I don't give a shit, but I know homosexuals here would be mad.

Re8 already started messing this effect up
raiding silent hill
He'll be back, they have been showing recently in collaborations that he successfully merged with Uroboros, mark my words Albertchads.
He better be. wienery prideful stylish villain is some sick ass shit. Killing him off was moronic.
>they have been showing recently in collaborations
Dead by Daylight isn't canon.
I know, but they did it for another collaborations as well, maybe it's nothing but then again Capcom could be hinting at something to come..
make a classic RE with tank controls and fixed camera angles with limited save ribbons and troll all the normies the seething would be hilarious.
I think an overhead isometric camera angle would cause more seethe so I go with that
lean into the horror more
RICHARD BAXTER
Virus suppression mechanic that changes gameplay according to how infected you are.
>outbreak
What was wrong with 8? I'm in the castle and it has been good so far, aside from the stupid 'survive' section at the start.
Much more fun than 7 but not nearly as scary as 7. Should never make a horror game in daytime to be honest
It should take place in a tower with a mad scientist and have a big frankenstein-like man that chases you
Actually make it matter to the overall plot or just move on from the original characters all together. Revelations 2 actually felt like a big story but this just felt like backstory shit with Miranda giving ideas to everyone. Make a Mercenaries/Raid mode game about us playing a bow cleanup crew after the protagonists left.
Romance sim with Alcina
>brainwash all the developers to forget everything they learned about americans and the world outside of nipland
>don't let them speak with any westerner or let one be in the team
There, now they can make a good game with their idea of what a westerner country is like, like the old games
>Seething over Westerns despite RE being made by Westaboos and are usually recorded in English first
Read the post again, maybe this time you will understand it
Dead Rising x Resident Evil
Game should be focused on finishing the story arcs for Chris and Jill.
Just do Remake 2 but better. You already get gun upgrades by progression and exploration, no need for a shop. RE8s money and shop just felt so tacked on. If they want to add in Coop they could try the 0 Route again.
Most important point here is getting rid of the RNG bullshit.
0 had potential but removing item boxes was moronic and honestly the ai is worse than 5's. 5 you could give them a sniper and machine gun and problems solved
RE7 and 8 have far too many scripted moments to make it interesting. The whole intro to RE7 is long and boring as frick to replay and RE8 is just let me get to the damn gameplay
Futuristic cyberpunk horror on Spencer's orbital estate where the Albert Wesker personality construct has taken control.
it was vampires and werewolves and even cyborgs last time
Next time it's gonna be aliens
>Next time it's gonna be aliens
lmao, you just know Capcom is absolutely dying to do that
Make a game that lasts longer than 15hrs or it shouldn't cost 60$.
Even if it lasts 3 hours at least make it replayable like the old games. Nothing about the new games has me wanting to play it again.
A new original title that isn't first person for the love of god please
Yes. So much this. I am fricking tired of first person horror games.
Outer space alien. It was freshen things up being in the cold empty void of space with "xenomorph" monsters and cute girls in latex outfits
Less action/shooter
More stealth/puzzle
Southwest USA with skinwalkers and shit.
>le plagas xD
>le mold xDDDD
What non-zombie monster will be the antagonists in the next game?
Giant rat monster. It controls the population using papper slips it prints and distributes. The effects zombify the population and cause them to do the rats bidding to get more papper for themselves. The only way to kill it is with gas. The main character is a fat neet who has no papper of his own.
Friday the 13th/Jason Voorhees homage set in a summer camp in August, or a Halloween/Michael Myers homage set in small-town suburban USA on Oct 31.
we definitely are gonna need some more tall monster women with huge booba, they were on the right track with that
who cares, it's going to be another boring first person game
will the legend return?
He will after REmake4 flop being too serious
> The real baddie
Mia is evil
Bring in Alice
Id really enjoy some coop like re5 in the new engine. Frick serious story telling and shit. Just go apeshit and give us coop. Re5 is frickin good

Make some Tetsuo: The Iron Man shit be the new bio-curse.
