Completely overrated vanillaware slop with unremarkable sci-fi story and twists. Great visual direction and music though but that's really all the game has going for it. Ruined by english localization apparently but I don't play japanese games in english.
I think the problems with the translation were largely them trying to make Okino seem "non-binary" and making characters less weirded out by his crossdressing. I guess him being a crossdressing gay made it difficult for them to keep their twitter tendencies in their pants.
I still liked Okino though
As someone who's mostly gay, I hated him because everything about how they treated him and fan reception is just annoying. Everything about it is treated as a joke.
They never solidify being a gay couple like the original Hijiyama and Okino were, it's played as a joke that they like each other all the way to the end. It's also a funny joke that Okino is straight up abusive in ways that'd be as comically evil like tying Hijiyama up and forcibly mindreading personal thoughts with a device that hurts him and might kill him, while telling him those thoughts out loud.
And on the fan side he just gets a free pass because he wears a skirt and that makes people hard or instantly sympathetic to him.
Not him, but what you see in the OP pic are the original Hijiyama and Okino whose bodies and personalities are recreated for the younger ones you see throughout the game.

I'll take that over completely vapid shit like the Iori/Ei and Megumi/Juro romances. I understand your grievances, but to me Hijiyama/Okino was still one of the most interesting relationships in the game alongside Tomi/Ogata.
Thing is, there's one gay romance and it's a joke that's not treated as romance one end, absolutely terrible if it was serious on the other. At least with straight ones you can get a variety, and they can be vapid/generic.
I don't think I've ever seen a masculine character in a Japanese game struggle with their sexuality and it not be played as a joke with the developers' finger on the eject button as they never actually get in a gay relationship. It's always teasing, and the most explicit ones that do breach through are almost always feminine twink x crossdresser.
Comes off as a bit more insulting originally
In general they tone down a lot of kind of "sexist/bigoted" stuff, most of it isn't to a horrible degree, just a pointless one, but Okino in particular got a bit smudged
>Okino seem "non-binary"
They didn't try. They DID make him non-binary. The entire dialogue was fricked to oblivion and was never fixed. I'm never touching another vanillaware game ever again. Atlus, Sega, and Vanillaware can frick off.
>she apparently grew massive breasts later in life despite being a washboard in the game >he plapped a bunch of kids into her but she's still tsun towards him sometimes
Idk give me a name so I can avoid it

Wait it's wasn't just a woman wearing men's clothing?
The opposite.

V A P I N
The tower defense portions were fun.
no they weren't you were just suffering from severe gameplay deprivation
it's a gay game where were you?
So the entire thing was really just a dream huh?
For me, it was the delinquent guy and glasses girl
>she apparently grew massive breasts later in life despite being a washboard in the game
>he plapped a bunch of kids into her but she's still tsun towards him sometimes
Almost every member of the cast got kids in the ending (apart from Ryoko and Gotou since they are autists)
Is it true that everyone is naked in the ending of this game?
Something like that yeah
This was my favorite game of 2019 and it was funny to see Ganker sperg over it
Hoping Unicorn Overlord provides similar entertainment
trash
It's shit that's what it is.
>That part where they go back in the simulation but now the cross dresser actually has a vegana
As you see lads, he truly wasn't gay.
They're gay, Anon. Ganker should know all about it.
I like it so far. Pretty good
does switch emu run well on steam deck?
depends on the games. VNs are perfect. Metroid Dread runs phenomenal. Everything else is okay to terrible
cute and canon
>never finished because I had to left my country for a job
sad but I'm not buying it again on switch
