It's pretty much the pinnacle of games right now, merging story, action, roleplaying, open world, interactivity, player freedom etc better than any game before or after it. There's a ton of room for improvement obviously, my issue is that no one's going for it.
9-1-1's bank heist episode is just as film noir as any bank heist film from the 60s. Just because the main character now has a crooked scar on his face doesn't mean the industry hasn't always shat out garbage and good alike.
Theres plenty of good new vidya. Just end of last year and this >Elden ring >Ai the somnium file 2 >Bright memory infinite >Monark >Judgement remaster >Vampire the masquerade bloodhunt (very good, but killed by hackers and incompetent gamedesigners) >Caligular efect 2 >Shin megami tensei 5
I dont know what you people are smoking, but theres more good games coming out than there used to be.
And upcoming games are >Star ocean 6 >Monochrome moebius >Soul hackers 2 (they change a lot, so maybee unlike 1 its going the be an actual good game)
It's literally impossible to explain how good we had it to zoomers because they take things for granted.
They have no clue what's it like for the industry to bring out new, exciting, revolutionary things literally every single quarter, it's been stagnant for as long as they have been alive and they literally cannot imagine a situation in which things get progressively better over time. To them, it's completely valid to say "well there were 10 good games released in 2001 and 7 good games released in 2021 so they're about the same", they're completely ignorant to the fact those 10 games from 2001 they're citing were mind-boggling shit at the time and that the 7 rehashes of game formats stagnant since 2007 no one was excited for cannot even begin to compare.
It's like saying the 66 years between the first ever airplane flight and the first moon landing aren't better than the 50 years since because we still have planes flying every day and send some rockets into space sometimes, when we would have to be sending manned missions outside the solar system in order for the comparison of exponential progress to work. The climb towards the plateau and the stagnation and even drop-off since the plateau are incomparable, but the game industry simply chooses not to innovate because they're afraid of experimentation, whereas the progress of human travel hit a hard physical barrier.
A game that looks 5% better than Crysis? My post wasn't about graphics anyway, the image was just there to illustrate the general lack of progress. To me, every second that AAA games aren't trying to get closer to the Dwarf Fortress equivalent of their genre, is a second of stagnation and games not improving or trying to fulfill their potential.
There's still plenty of fun smaller or indie games but as far as high profile AAA games dark souls really was the last hurrah. Though the franchise quickly got ran into the ground obviously.
I haven't played a single game on the right side of the image. And I never will.
same, but i have some early access stuff
>not playing prey because it's in some anime meme
TMNT
New Vegas was the last time I felt games were moving forward, everything's been pretty much dead and stagnant ever since
God shut the frick up already. NV was good but not the masterpiece you Obsitrannies think.

got your nose
Sekiro. Total fricking drought for years before that though.
New bad old good
For the last time, YES.
Touhou Mystia's Izakaya
also DNF Duel is a horrible game that I can't stop playing so it must be doing something right
RDR2 had the best story I've seen in gaming but I feel it's overshadowed by their exploitative online mode
you can play all the games on the left but you don't
And you can watch all the classic movies you want but it won't make modern Hollywood any better
but you can still enjoy the old movies
but you don't
And it still doesn't fix the current state of things, shocking

Basically yeah
People remember the good stuff and forget about the mountains of shit that come out every year
Cream rises to the top and whatnot

Now you must be smoking some really good shit
The games i mentioned are just a small fraction of what released, how much of those did you play?
>I dont know what you people are smoking
They smoke contrarianism
Nooo they dont count as a good games because I am not a happy child when they are coming out!
>Ai the somnium file 2
Not a game and not as good as the first one
What anime is this girl from ?
Re:live
King with a shotgun.
Cuphead DLC
FFXV was comfy too.
And I'm not going to pretend Project M EX isn't just as fun as 64.
Rollercoaster Tycoon 2
Xenoblade Chronicles 3
I don't know; dropped modern games at the middle of gen 7 and always stay year behind. Still hard to find modern games worth playing lmao.
Mad Rat Dead
Zeno Clash
Mega Man 11
New Super Lucky's Tale
Baba is you
One Step From Eden
Dandy Dungeon
>I'm looking for good games inside trash, but I'm only finding trash.
>indie trash
every time
zeno clash is cool but hardly modern
UNDERTALE
the question was last good game not last bad game
elden ring, infraspace, monster hunter world are all my very special games of the year
Ghost of tsushima, bright memory infinite and monark
I liked Cyberpunk 2077, yeah yeah I know glitchy mess yada yada yada. I had fun

Nice cherrypicked image, replace fortnite with bright memory infinite

1994-2003 PC exclusives were the only good video games ever made.
Yes, because icewind dale was so much better than guild wars 2
if you genuinely believe gw2 was a game ever worth even playing you legitimately deserve a bullet to the head, freak
Its 500 times better than your old garbage crpg.
>One of the worst call of duty
>The worst ut
>Mass effect
>Ass creed
>Unsharted
Atleast there was crysis and witcher
Why is UT3 there, that game sucked and killed the franchise
Two of these games are good, two had good sequels and the rest suck.
Tunic was good and that was pretty recent.
I really liked NEO TWEWY
I hate jungle music but NFSU2 had a really good track list. What a good fricking game
