2015. A definite contender for a garbage tier year if I ever seen one. The final of 7th gen being supported outside of sports games and licensed trash with 8th gen exclusives that failed to impress or were harmful to the overall industry
I can't remember the last actual good year for vidya.
Each year had objectively a lot of shit thrown out into the masses and a few good releases here and there.
2014, bar none. That year was the inflection point from when gaming went from a relatively niche hobby to becoming riddled with the numerous cancerous afflictions that affect the industry today. That’s not even mentioning all the e-drama that spiraled into normie culture and directly spawned the hellscape of a culture war we’re all currently in the midst of. There’s not another singular year that is deserving of as much ire and contempt than 2014 does.
The 2010-2014 PC gap years where every game had to be either mobile or a crippled multiplat for PS3 and Xbox 360. Even Supreme Commander 2, which should have been a PC exclusive, got casualized into a console game.
2007
OP said worst, not best
When did Undertale release again?

2001
The brown/bloom era as a whole.
DRM wise 2005~2009 they were getting pretty shitty with limited installs and hard checks of the games driving most to the high seas
Wouldn't that be 2002 up to 2015?
2002? That early?
four Medal of Honor games came out that year which established the brown/bloom
2018. Nothing came out.
Every year is the worst year going forward.

2006 when they released horse armor dlc, everything went to shit from this point
Obviously it's 1983, but if we're talking in recent years, then it's 2018 without a doubt

The one where you were too old to enjoy new games
