That one
None of them are great but 4 and Waw had the best ones. I am basing this off of what I played as a kid and nothing else.
MW2
I've played 5 cods and thats the most memorable one.
CoD 1 United Offensive
THE MAN IN FRONT GETS THE RIFLE
Modern Warfare 1 and 2. I did also like Advanced & Infinite Warfare a lot for the scifi stuff.
>S
4, MW2019
>A
MW2, WaW, Blops 3, IW
>B
Blops 2, Blops, AW
>C
Rest
In particular, 4 is the best because the infinite waves checkpoint mechanic makes it way more involved to play than every other campaign. You can't just camp as far back as possible and snipe everything.
>mw 2019 in S
still based for putting infinite warfare that high though
What's wrong with 2019, it has god tier mission designs.
the level you play as the kid is one of the worst in the franchise
>A
>Blops 3
get better bait
if you ignore the moronic story, the gameplay in bo3 campaign is still pretty good. Plus it's one of the few games with 4 player coop
>Train go boom
I get you on the gameplay part but it's incredibly exhausting, maybe a b at best
Infinite Warfare, Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops, World at War, Black Ops 2, Call of Duty 4
BO and WaW were the only 2 I ever truly enjoyed, there were also a couple of missions from MW2019 that I liked because they felt tacticool, namely the house raid mission.
Played 1 to BO2, they're all the same
I remember 2, 4, BO1 and Infinite Warfare were fun. I don't really play CoD anymore though. I remember fan reception to IW was really bad, but the campaign in it was actually pretty cool if you like military sci fi.
COD 4 > BO1 > WAW >>>>> Infinite Warfare
COD 3 on Xbox OG was my first COD, Dixon's death at the end while he's surrounded by his buddies really affected me (I was like 10 or 11)
Pre-IW CODs all age fairly well. Ghosts chiefly because it was the first jump from (then) last-gen to next-gen and it looked really nice (but not much different from previous CODs)
Advanced Warfare has a special place for me because it was the first truly (then) next-gen COD and looked insane. I thought the premise was swell too but executed poorly, and it coincides with my first year living in Miami, FL with my dad. It also has Marines in it and it and a Vice documentary about Marines training in the Pacific was one of the factors that led to me joining the Marines IRL.
You honestly need to play the MW and BLOPS series all as one game, with BLOPS 3 being optional and BLOPS 4 didn't have a campaign. I tried playing through BOCW last night and only played the two good missions in that game and uninstalled (the Vietnam mission and KGB HQ mission.) Speaking of the MW series, I really want a remaster of 3.
WWII was underwhelming and Vanguard I haven't played for obvious reasons.
MW2019 was the jolt that COD needed and every game since has been trying to redo what it did and failed miserably. MW22 looks promising, but I will not pay $70 for it so Bobby Kotick and buy another mansion. I will wait til it's on sale for $49.99.
*By "pre-IW" I mean "Infinite Warfare," which I also haven't played. I hear it has gained something of a cult following but with Activision charging $60 for ten year old games and only every discounting them at $20, I'll never buy it.
You can get a physical copy for around 10 dollars if you're on console
For me, it's MW2and3 and BOII
