What's the best (most accurate) Dreamcast rom format: .gdi, .cdi, .chd, or .bin+.cue? I'm trying to get all my ROMs in the same format.

gdi?
I don't know, I'm asking you.
GDI is the most accurate, CHD saves the most space
If you are going for a full set and emulating I say just go for CHD
Doesn’t CHD remove music and cutscenes?
CHD doesn't remove anything by nature
What you're talking about is when people removed shit back then to be able to burn 1GB games onto regular 700MB CD-Rs. For example removing nip voices in Sonic Adventure 2
ive read people here saying they had trouble converting CHD back to bin/que/tracks where audio would be missing entirely.
While we're at it, is there even a decent DC emulator anymore?
- Flycast seems to have emulation errors
- Retroarch just uses Flycast
- Redream is maximum israeli
Maybe I need to go back to Chankast?
for me Flycast is the best
>Flycast seems to have emulation errors
all games work fine with no bugs
I tried played EGG yesterday and the EGG spin sound effect was incorrect. I tried 10+ different ROMs and Flycast wasn't having it. Redream played it fine (which sucks). Maybe I need a different version of Flycast?
tried playing*

None of those are pit accurate. Sorry. You're not even the diet coke of pseud. Thanks for playing. Better luck next time.
Ecco the Dolphin is an underrated gem.
You shouldn't run CDI unless its something like a homebrew where CDI is all that is available. They have compressed assets to make a 1.1GB GDI fit on a 700MB CD.
CHD is just GDI with the empty space on the disc removed. All GDIs are the same size which is the same size as the max capactiy on a GD-ROM. For most games this means a bit of empty space. CHD would be the best way to go because its the same as a GDI but with a smaller file size in most cases.
TOSEC GDI are the most accurate since they're exact dumps as the console itself reads them
Redump rips of Dreamcast games are moronic autism since they're accurate to the disc and include data that the fricking console is physically incapable of reading. What is even the fricking point of including data that not a single game uses with 100% certainty!?
Because they work better on the console if you use GDEMU
Redump rips actually don't work on GDEMU properly because they hacked the format to offset the tracks.
Interesting
Is there a reason to use Redump dumps?
For Dreamcast and Xbox, absolutely not. Less compatible with everything, less accurate data for actually playing and the checksums will never match anything you'll rip yourself.
For other consoles, sure. PSX, Saturn, Sega CD and PS2 redumps are fine and their checksums should match any proper rips you make.
For PC games, no. You should either use CloneCD for accuracy or bin+cue alongside nocd patches without caring about checksums at all.
I don't know enough about 3DO, Jaguar CD and such to say whether Redump is worth shit for them. Just know that Redump is a project to accurately copy the discs, they could not give less of a shit about whether those dumps are in any way playable on anything.
I use .gdi because I play one at a time, have them compressed with .7z and, at least with redream, .gdi allows me to use widescreen hacks
Is there any way to have Dreamcast ROMs as one file per game without compromising on accuracy? It's so obnoxious to have to have folders filled with tons of files per game. Retroarch also doesn't handle them well (it shows every "track" file and there doesn't seem to be a way to turn that off)
