This so much. None of these games provide anything except the most surface level dopamine rush. Might as well shoot up heroin. Playing these games isn't good for you.

Nomad Survival has been alright so far. The stages are actual small maps. Uses a stamina system for the Class ability.
It has modifiable difficulty. you can increase/decrease many variables like movespeed, HP and damage for better rewards.
Has pets (kinda meh right now)
items/weapons can get pretty strong and have relics (mods from chests)
The dev is working hard too, really trying to compete with VS devs.
nomad survival relies too much on rerolling and it doesnt help that most of the passives/actives are dogshit
I've tried 20 minutes, Gunlocked, and Nomad, but they all miss the mark on the juice.
VS is very good at that, it feels very rewarding and pokes your subconscious just right. Meanwhile all these other games kinda miss that point, just compare Nomad's main menu to VS. I understand VS is made by a mario so that's kinda their thing since VS is basically an Italian sportscar (except cheap), but still.

I got vampire survivors some days ago. I have only cleared the library, but then i'm fricked in one second but the boss that appears after surviving for 30 minutes.
As a dev, witnessing all these other hapless moneychasing idiots jump on the bandwagon and hammer these clones out as fast as possible is just so sad. The genre can't be saved, unless someone were to spend a lot more time and make something truly exceptional.
