For Ryza 2 there's at least something of a small reason to buy the deluxe edition for the kurken island area dlc that's exclusive to buying it or the ultimate edition outright, since it's not available separately (it gives earlier access to alchemy mats by like, one area tier), but for the rest I wouldn't say that's the case.
I'm more baffled by the fact that some of these games are two decades old and still so expensive.

Actually I just looked at Ryza 2 again and buying the base game then the season pass is actually £1.51 cheaper than buying the Ultimate Edition.
Call me crazy but I feel like Koei does not understand how prices and bundles are meant to work.
like I said, if you don't buy the deluxe edition and do buy the season pass, you still miss out on some exclusive dlc. so price it according to "deluxe game+season pass" since that's equivalent to the ultimate edition, not base+season pass.

Just ignore the damn DLCs, 99% of them are just grossly overpriced outfits. Arland, Dusk and Mysterious DX have all DLC included and don't cost as much as the newer individual games + season passes if you care that much.

They're not the developers of the shitty Atelier mobage. They did make the Blue Reflection one but it's thankfully dead.
there was a shitty atelier gacha that's dead. there's a new atelier gacha that's a mainline game.
That's the one I'm talking about. It's made by Team Ninja and Akatsuki Games, Gust has almost zero involvement with development. I wish it didn't exist and that it wasn't considered mainline, but ultimately it doesn't matter as long as they keep making real games.
I feel like them branding it a mainline game will kill the series, or at the very least do it considerable harm.
As long as they're completely separate and don't start doing shit like the console games being sequels/side games to Resleriana that require you to play that to know what's going on, it will be fine. If anything I want to have hopes they can do something different with the next console trilogy and abandon Ryza's shitty aesthetic since they can just keep shilling her in the mobage instead.
