Japs have well-established sites where porn and eroge are sold whereas F95 and the like are just filesharing sites. While the standards are exceptionally low dlsite and whatnot do have some level of standards and you'll get preview images and a flat price for the game.
That said, actual doujins are very often sold in stores as tankōbon and it's kind of like buying a variety pack of porn. If you enjoyed one out of 7 or 8 then great because the vast majority is trash that wouldn't even get you hard. Shitty artists are aplenty all across the world.

Japanese are extremely lazy shits, almost all of them miss their release dates and only work on the game a bit more than patreon scams, granted most of them aren't being paid as much as patreon scammers on ci-en. Proof is easy to find, look at Chinese insects novels, 2~3 chapters a day for years for 3k+ chapter novels, I can only think of Legend where the author makes a chapter a day that keeps anything decent of a pace, the majority just make a chapter a day, then after a few weeks it's 2, then quickly 3, then quickly a week, then quickly you are lucky to get a chapter a year. Chinese and Korean manga are full color and long chapters released weekly or even daily, Japanese were complaining about making more money back then with official manga for colorless 16 page chapters and take breaks every other week.
The only japanese one that I can think that is supported in a patreon way is Castle of Temptation. I can't think of any patreon backed WEGs that come close to it in quality.

Where to even begin? For starters, they're not games. Dropping stock assets into Ren'Py is not game development, either. Your two flavors of WE"G" are almost exclusively either horrendous DAZ models, or awful 2D art.

The art is good, characters are nice, fights are fun enough, but the H scenes are the worst part about it and feel tacked on. I think the artist/dev has potential but needs to remember what an H game is.
I think it's because all the H content is unlockable without really needing to go out of your way to get them. I think if his next game incorporated the eroticism into the story rather than having it only be side content that you can unlock and never bother with then he'd be a much better hentai game dev. Though, if he foregoes making hentai games and just sticks to making more difficult RPGMaker games I'd honestly be totally down for that too. I like the idea of having really tough, puzzle-like fights and no random battles. Would fit perfectly in a horror-esque RPGMaker game, I think.
The disconnect from the actual game didn't help, but also a lot of the scenes I felt like you could get just as much out of them by looking at a CG gallery removed from all context entirely which isn't a good thing. I don't need moron ahegao faces but generally it seemed like there was a lot of text description of what was supposed to be happening with hardly any of that eroticism being reflected in the respective CG.

The story still takes itself way too fricking seriously but I will give it credit for actually TRYING and bothering to add minigames and music and point and click adventure game elements, absolutely.
The best WEG is The Last Sovereign imo, you can treat it as a serious standalone RPG and get autistic about the economics of the game and story and plot and character interactions and party building and ignore the sex scenes entirely and still enjoy it as a pretty fun turn-based RPG.

Witch Trainer was the only one of these I actually enjoyed, otherwise I absolutely despise this shit and VNs blow (in a bad way). Not really, the models you'd be using wouldn't be animated in real time, you'd be able to edit it and adjust the model natively after recording the motions. You can't do that with a live streamed 3d model that'll be moving around dynamically through live motion capture so extra care needs to be given(even though it'll fail). Games use pre-made animations, even when motion captured they aren't happening live, they can be refined. Live motion capture can't be edited in the same way. The live part is what matters the most.
Also they can gouge a bit thanks to working on something higher profile so they can ask for a slightly higher premium.

Wildlife's animations are ridiculously good but they've fallen into the hole of endlessly churning out new animations to milk Patreonbux instead of actually working on the 'game' part. The game is ridiculous in how much it hints at ntr but blatantly avoids it. The one black guy in the game hits on every woman in the game and is in direct control of the protag's sister and teacher. But it is explicitly mentioned that he didn't frick them and didn't do anything to them really. Every time the Dev could have inserted ntr, he instead made it very clear that there is no ntr going on (aside from one late game gym scene, which has giant NTR WARNING DON'T CLICK written in red on it, with the choice being the stupidest in the whole game.
Now, another big example of this problem is Seeds of Chaos. The updates are regular, the art is good, the story is probably good (but I don't give a shit so I skip it). However, the whole thing is ACT 1, and it has been in development for four years already. Mechanically, the game still is broken (as they promise a mechanics overhaul for over a year, but last I checked it wasn't there).
The worst part is, despite the work ethic, effort and talent the game is kinda meh. It's not for anyone, it's for everyone. In taffy tales MC is a domineering dude who likes to frick women into submission. Easy to get, it's for maledom fans. Snow daze is for incest/hypnosis lovers. Who is Seeds of Chaos for? Half the content in the game is MC being a gigachad, the other being a massive cuck pussy. There is a new girl every fricking update, and I haven't cared for a single one, because their scenes are so rng-reliant you can beat the game four times and still not see it. There are a modest bunch of gay scenes, with MC both top and bottom. There are scenes with futa demons, monster girls and anthro wolves. Anyone who came to the game for one of these things will end up disappointed (aside from maybe ntr lovers) and most people will straight up not be into half of the game's content. In a decade, when they finish act 2 of 5 or whatever, I expect nothing to change.

The Dev(s) know they can pump out a basic point and click game with 5-10 smut scenes and people will drop money on it. Friendship with Benefits was a good example of this, you can tell that the person making it actually gave a frick and whilst it wasn't amazing, it was released fully complete, lots of sex scenes, decent art, full story, secret sex scenes with unlockable characters etc...the second game (based on MHA) was a fricking train wreck. Art quality basically disappeared to a point where each character looks borderline deformed, story devolved into "Need money, have sex for money" and its about 30 minutes long in total.
Once a dev figures out they can just churn out low grade shit at a snails pace for patreon bucks, that's all they do. Look at Carnal Instinct for a perfect example of this.
