when i was 12, i was already pissed at the kindergarten kids
2011's the first year I really noticed but really it was probably in the years before when niche Wii games were appealing to me more than the AAA stuff I was apparently supposed to care about.
Idk like 2014 or 2016 with Pokemon
Slowly realizing that all 3D combat will be compared/contrasted to Souls as the 'baseline' of mechanics, as opposed to 2000's stylish action games conventions.
Earlier this year when I mentioned swapping discs.
2009 when Geocities was deleted but fricking Twitter gets preserved in the Library of Congress.
>the website that created wokeism and SJWs
You gays know there's a world beyond the internet where this started, right?
just ignore him, he's just waggling his small white penis
Battle royale games. For me they look like niche games, but they seem to be the hype with zoomers for some reason.
These games wouldn't piss me off as much if it didn't kill the majority of standard multiplayer shooters.
like, PS2 era licensed movie games i think
and sports games in general
Battle Royale
I can't get into that genre at all
when i played the new kirby game and realized it wasn't fun at all
i just got off star allies so i thought it would be way more fun but star allie's biggest problem was that it was just boring
but i didn't like using any abilities in forgotten land. i just kept waiting for the game to get good and it just never did
kirby was like... the last franchise i had. i thought kirby couldn't have bad games but everyone else seems to like it and think its one of the best games in the series
I was never with it and what was it always seems strange to me
Shit man I can't give you an exact moment but at some point games, especially western games, became utterly dogshit.
If Japan didn't still put out some quality games I likely would have abandoned this hobby and I don't say that lightly as someone who's been gaming their whole life.
Probably somewhere around Xbox One/PS4 gen. It doesn't feel like too many iconic games came out after that gen, besides the Souls series.
It's probably just that I lost interest, so nothing new is standing out to me because I've played games my whole life and so everything looks stale, but then again, younger friends of mine are saying the same thing, while also saying retro games are too clunky, so they don't have much to look forward to either.
The middle of 7th gen, so around 2009.
when zoomers started saying the original REs have tank controls even though I replay them yearly and never noticed it
when minecraft got popular
Sony's exclusive 3rd person cinematic walking simulators especially last of us being heralded as the GOAT
Played it and thought it was a boring version of gears of war with ladder puzzles and some edgy cannibal pedo that everyone raved about
