Smash is a game that is only popular because it's a crossover of characters from an insane number of franchises. I will never understand why people try to make copies of it while barely featuring any crossovers.
Just because it's in the same genre doesn't mean it's trying to copy it.
The only examples i can think of that do try to copy it are NASB and Icons with both trying to be Melee.
they both are different enough where you can play both without it feeling redundant
nasb has better movement and better combo options, overall a harder and more satisfying game but multiversus is easy enough to jump into and kill an hour of your day doing just the 6 daily battle pass missions

The only game that can truly dethrone Smash is a Disney-clone utilizing Multiversus's business stategy and netcode.
